Hello Cricuters! You are NOT going to want to miss this tutorial! Follow along with me as I show you my process for using sublimation on canvas without laminate sheets.
In this tutorial, I will show you how I used polyester fabric, Hiipoo Ink, A-Sub paper, and my Epson 2760 WF sublimation printer to create this beautiful new addition to my crafting room!
Sublimation is all the rage nowadays, and I honestly can't get enough. I am so pleased with how these sublimated canvases came out. The colors are vivid and bright and I used sublimation without using laminate sheets.
I uploaded my photo to Canva and then printed it from Silhouette Studio (which is free software that I downloaded).

You are so welcome
So excited to try this out! I bought a bunch of canvases a while back to make reverse canvas signs but I'm definitely giving this a try! I've been loving the cricut heat resistant tape since it doesn't leave any "ghosting" or residue like this gold colored tape I bought thru Amazon that had a unpleasant smell to it
I LOVE the way these canvases turned out! I'm sure yours will be beautiful too.
I love it Delonda! It looks fantastic
Thank you 😊. I enjoyed making them.
This is a fabulous idea!!!

🤣🤣🤣
Thank you ❤️
Thank you I just love it
Thanks 💙
Love!!!!!!
Thank you!
I love the idea and you do an excellent job of explaining. I wonder about a spry or brush on top coat so the canvas texture will show through.
Thank you 😊
Yes! Great job. Sunday morning business development and I just discovered you.. so glad. Great job. ❤❤❤ One thing you could try on the back. Double fold the edge (almost like a hem) then staple. Repeat as you did on all sides. It will cut your time and give a crisp finish to the back. So glad to have found you... and yes... I 🔔 'ed you! Have a great week.
Thanks for the tips! I appreciate all feedback and thank you for subscribing and turning on that bell. Happy Sunday to you.
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
Hey Delonda!!! Great video.
Thank you 😊
Great tutorial I have one question on the Printer set up what type of paper glossy plain white, matte?
What did you use with your playing white paper?
I printed on A-Sub 125G Sublimation Paper and I covered it with Butcher Paper.
Thank you ❤
You’re very welcome ☺️
Do you think I could use Cricut Heat Press 2 for this project? And my Cricut? Loved how they turned out!
Thanks and yes! Just set your temperature to 400 degrees and be careful in the areas where you will need to do a double press.
Thank you two years later! Getting ready for my daughter’s graduation party
You're welcome! Congratulations to your family.
Hey Delonda love all of your work. I'm trying to find the 100% polyester in walmart but to no avail. Can u please tell me where I can find. Thank u
This video is awesome!! Will try the process soon! Thank you💜🤗
Thank you! I know you will jazz yours up 😊
Thanks Good Job ❤
Thank you ❤️
Great tutorial! thank you for sharing this great hack! ;-)
Awe, you're welcome 😊
Hello great job I was wondering would the poly cotton fabric work also
Hello! I'm sure it would work but I don't think the colors would be as vibrant. The good thing is that poly/cotton is inexpensive; and if you're putting it on a canvas, you wouldn't need to wash it 😊.
Question on the A-sub paper, I've seen that there are different kinds. There is pink, orange, green, red color tabs. I see you have the ones with the pink tabs that reads 216x279mm 110 sheets. what do all these mean?
Hello, those numbers represent the size of the paper. 110 is how many sheets are included in the box.
Hi Cricuting with Delonda .. its me Jessica!!! Even a year later, this video was the first to pop up when I asked the question "can you sublimate on canvas without laminate?" Thank you !!!
Thanks for watching ❤️
Hi Delonda Hi! I watched your video on sublimation with fabric for a canvas. I was wondering if it has to be 100% polyester fabric or will 65% polyester fabric do? I can't get 100% polyester fabric here on time.
Hi there, the higher poly count, the better.
What heat press machine are you using
Does it still work with larger canvases like 16*20 or 12*14? I have drawings I want to transfer.
Hi with the sublimation...do u have to use a sublimation printer? With the Sublimation paper used? Please and thank you. Love this ❤💙👍❤❤
Hi Feu, yes I used a sublimation printer. I used A-Sub 125G Sublimation Paper and it is linked below the video. Thank you ❤️
Great video. I love putting it on polyster. One question, did you reverse the imate?
Yes I did. My printer settings are saved to mirror the images.
@@CraftingwithDelonda Thank you. Trying my first picture today.
I don't have a sublimation printer. Can I do this with an inkjet printer?
Love the video thank you for sharing. What brand or type of polyester cloth did you use? I have Amazon Prime so I figured I take advantage and order some bit didn't know what kind or type. Thanks 😊
Hi there, thank you so much. I found that fabric in Walmart. It actually didn’t have a brand name. You can buy polyester fabric from your local craft store and get it cut.
@@CraftingwithDelonda this idea gives me ideas thanks again for sharing. Sorry to bug but what were the settings used tonsub on the poly cloth? I have been using g 389 / 45 for most projects.
400 for 60 seconds
How u had to use the silhouette place to print ur picture?
Thank you for your video. I love this. One suggestion: make the print large enough so the the print will wrap around all sides so that no white is showing on the sides also. This is the way professional photographers do it.
Thank you so much for that tip ❤️
@@CraftingwithDelonda BRILLIANT ! Thank you for this - I was wondering about this the other day and came to see if anyone had done it. With regard to the comment above. If you're like me, my printer will only print 8/12 X 11 - so I would not be able to do that. You COULD take some coordinating ribbon and trim the sides to look more finished. Since mine is going to be a gift for a baby room - I think that is what I will do! Beautiful family - btw!
Thank you. Most standard printers will go up 8.5 x 14
You, ma’am, are a freaking genius! I was trying to make a canvas tonight the other way and it didn’t go so well 😬
🤣😂🤣😂 thank you so much ❤
What heat press do youhave?
Hello! Do you have to heat up the picture right after you print it out or can ypu heat it up right before you go to use it. I ask because I have a pic that I printed out about a week ago and want to try this. :-)
P.s. I love watching your videos. I learn from them!
Thank you! You can add some heat to your pic if you want. I primarily do that to make sure the ink is dry; but since you printed yours last week, I am sure your ink is already dry.
Hi Delonda
Could you tell me what sort of polyester you used. I am in australia and we do not have a Walmart. Is there any special fabric requirements I need to look out for. Would Amazon HTVRont polyester be ok to use. I agree the laminating sheet do not look natural. Love your clips so easy to follow.
Cheers
Rosemary
Thank you. On the label, it just says precut polyester fabric. I'm sorry, I wish I had more information. Just try to find some that is not too stretchy.
Thanks I'm pretty sure I found some at our fabric shop Spotlight. I'll give it a try.
Hello Delonda, After I use Canvas, can I than use cricut? I do not have a silhouette
Yes
When your image is done printing, do I have to press it with the heat press?
Hi there, yes I usually let my ink dry under the press...just let it sit on the plate but don't close it and then I press it at 400 degrees for 60 seconds.
Nice video
Thank you very much! I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment.
I’m thinking of trying this but with the clear sublimation vinyl. Do you think it would work? Xx Tina. Uk
I really do think it would work. That's a great idea.
Thank you so much I actually have a printer that I am making my sublimation printer you just inspired me. Can I just print pictures I have with out using Canva or silhouette
You’re welcome. You could probably use Microsoft Word.
@@CraftingwithDelonda thank you I’m actually on Amazon ordering my paper and ink. I’m so excited.
so could you enlarge the photo so that you have gallery wrap sides?
Hello 👋🏾, yes!
Is the temperature 400 degrees for 60 secs using the Cricut easy press? I don’t have a heat press.
Yes
Great Idea! Even better outcome ! :)
Where did you get the polyester fabric you printed on?
Thank you so much! I purchased it from Walmart in the fabric section.
@@CraftingwithDelonda thank you so much!
@@CraftingwithDelonda could you please post a picture or the link to the fabric that you used in this video? I tried a fabric that said 100% polyester but the image wasnt vibrant like i was expecting, and im thinking its because of the fabric. Thank you so much.
This is better then laminated sheet .
In my opinion yes!
can you send the link to the polyester fabric roll you used please i have tried for hours and cannot find it
Hi there, I don't have a link. It is a roll of discounted fabric.
Lol. "Hot glue is hot!" You're the best.
😂😂😂😂 it's the little things!
Beautiful family
Thank you ❤
Do we need to do the staples or could we just do the hot glue all around
I used staples but hot glue might work. Just cut your corners smaller.
Can you do the same in Inkscape or does it have to be Canva?
You could probably do it in Inkscape.
Fabric store here I come thank u
You're welcome 😊
