Thanks for watching! I'm currently up on the side of a huge mountain in eastern Nevada. I'm on the tail end of a 10-day mountain climbing trip in the desert. Lots of great footage from this trip! BTW, have you checked out this week's fishing video on my other channel? Here it is: czcams.com/video/ARQ-gIbEyeQ/video.html

If you need a place to stop for a day or so, I have a couple of acres outside of Kingman Arizona. No amenities, completely off grid. Just under 60 miles from the Grand Canyon skywalk.

If my trips involve a lot of interstate travel I'm partial to Pilot/Flying J truck stops since you get a clean shower room all to yourself with a toilet, sink, bench, electrical outlets, heater and fan, and the shower stall. There's no time limit and all Pilot and Flying J truck stops also have free wifi, so it's a good place to stop in and rest for a few hours besides just a shower. They also allow overnight parking and can be a good place to spend the night if in a pinch.

Thanks for doing this very informative video! I'm researching/preparing to be on the road full time and this was one of the big issues I was worried about. Most YT channels of vanlifers and suvlifers mention the gym memberships but all the one's i've looked at are, like you said, $30 and up. Side note, I will be full timing in a SUV and have read your book. It has helped me immensely and I highly recommend it!

I caught a few nice ones in Utah and Northern Arizona (near Cliff Dwellers) also...a couple of bucks for a 5 minute hot shower can be heaven after a few days of cold 1 gallon showers with the pump up sprayer!

Good solid review of best places to take a shower. I’ve gone to larger RV Parks on the ocean and asked if I could go in and take a look at sites. Then, stopped to inspect the showers, took a quick one and then returned my pass. I find the best old dependable is use three 1 quart portable paint containers with 3 bottles of water left on the dash of my van for an hour or two-then, use 1 to 2 tablespoons of baking soda in the first one and mix well. Using a sponge or wash cloth, immerse in the small bucket with one bottle of warm water and baking soda mixture, wring out some of it from the washcloth. Start with the face and neck and apply it, dip and rinse and repeat with the chest and back, do legs next. Now rinse out the washcloth in the next clear water bucket and rinse the water/baking soda residue off. Continue to do so-usually once or twice, continually rinsing the washcloth off. For the privates, I recommend baby wipes and/or disposable flushable wipes. Dry off and your done. You’ll be absolutely shocked at how little water you use and how squeaky clean and soft your skin feels afterwards. And, taking a sponge bath this way is really fast from start to finish. Have safe travels!

Take your car to a car wash and open your windows while going through (I'm kidding, don't do that)

Gotta say... "Thank You!" That is a thoughtful list and some great ideas for broadening the search for a nice hot shower. I have a dry bath, but- having enough: 1) HOT & 2) H2O is almost impossible. I'm considering a roof mounted black (long) sealed tank with a sprayer for both added carrying capacity & sunny day PM shower answers. I can 'add' lake or stream water (always very cold, takes forever to warm up) and the cost to purchase is very high, but- having a warm & cleaning shower is a priceless emotional boost, right? Hahaha- until you can't, you just don't get it. Flip Flops- Must Haves.

After 45 years of traveling and camping, we are now at Medicare age and can use our Silver Sneakers benefit at local fitness centers. Some require paperwork, but others just scan the SS membership card and let you on. One place charged us a few bucks, but most fid not on our last month-long trip.

If you land in a Truck Stop, see a possible driver at the shower Kiosk, just ask when they get their shower ticket, ask if you could mooch a co-driver shower(it happened to me many a times and I never had a problem with sharing, since I was a solo driver.....it saves $10-15 depending on location...
