The mv looks just like an extended version of the trailers with the addition of the dance sequences. I hoped they could've put in a story to make the mv more diverse but they didn't. I still love the song and the album itself, just got underwhelmed by the mv.

Ready To Love was such a good song wasted on this MV. the song gives me second gen vibes, but unfortunately the MV has production value of second gen also…the MV director seemed like he didn’t know how to handle a group of 13 people. if you compare Home;Run to this MV the difference is JARRING. so many cuts in between shots, not enough choreography, the rain scene was way too bright and you could barely see the members, overall too many glamour shots of them just staring into the distance? this song deserved a much better MV in my opinion and i’m curious as to how their creative team went from Fallin Flower, Left & Right, & Home;Run to this…

When I listen this, I can imagine Mingyu drivign really fast over a bridge on Han River and different drones being used to show the speed. This song should have more scenes showing speed? PD, The team responsible for the mv was from YG, or a team that has worked for YG mv before I guess, Dextor-Lab. I feel the MV didn't make justice to their dance, or the parts they danced. For me, personally, I felt the narrative was a little off, idk. The rain scene could be so much more powerful if there were little hints that it'll rain in the end, for example. But when it rains it comes from nowhere, and in the scene, we can barely see the members, idk. I liked the mv, but I wish it was a little better directed. I guess the focus was in the member's faces, solo shots, trying to convey the emotion rather than the dance itself, cuz the dance sequences weren't that well shot for me.
Plus: The set was beautiful, so it was really the director of the MV who wasted chances of doing something that could be even prettier, aesthetically and mesmerizing in this MV. This time, production was by Dextor Lab, for Left n Right and Home; run was from Digipedi and for Fallin' Flower from Rigend film. So they are always changing video directors and producers depending on the proposal of the song, the project, I think.

    • @maddiphen2538

I also think the rain scene is lacking. It has so much potential so it's disappointing how they delivered it. The MV is def one of those 'could've been better' kind of MV too, for the exact same reason, the topic is power of love so there's plenty of things that they could have done than that. It's still pretty tho.

i agree w pd that RTL doesn't feel like the SVT comebacks we're used to. SVT has always been changing their style, but even when they went from title tracks like adore u, then shifted to different sounds like in DWC or fear, woozi and bumzu still always left a recognizable SVT feel to it. i still liked RTL bc it reminded me of 2nd gen vibes (which got me into kpop), but it felt unfamiliar imo, like it was a song made by a different group. i'm fine if this is the sound that woozi really wants to experiment with, but im just worried that that might not be the case, and that the introduction of the hybe music production team might be steering svt's music in a direction that svt didn't really intend to go.

" somehow i'm grateful they are not making songs like "Anyone", "Good To Me", "Fast Pace", "Fearless" as title tracks cos these are gems w/ top-tier stage performance & shall not be overused/overexposed so you get that "craving for more" feeling of a different side of SVT image. for fans it’s like “these stage performances are not the usual public image of refreshing seventeen, so these are so precious”

The rain scene would fit right at home in Taemin's Move MV. It's definitely my favourite part of this MV, and it suits the song the best imo. But it does feel out of place compared to the rest of the MV. Maybe if they changed the colouration, it'd feel a better whole piece. (A pastel rain scene would have been cool). I love the choreo for Ready To Love, so I wish they'd focused on that more - I think they shot the choreo really well when they did.

Even some members that heard the original demo were shocked that RTL changed to a completely different song when they heard it again a few days later. Their original version was sort of like DWC with more sentimental feels instead of the released version which is more easy to listen mainstream pop. They still kept the original song files btw. I'm honestly kind of torn on this. I wasn't really a fan of Seventeen's last two title tracks so this song is SO SO much better and I actually quite like it now though it did take a bit to grow on me. But you're right, it just doesn't feel like a Seventeen title track. Nothing against HYBE and hitman Bang they're good at what they do because I do enjoy a lot of TXT and BTS' songs but I really wish they'd just let Seventeen be and let them do their own thing that they've done for years. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad song and I'm not saying HYBE team aren't great producers but I just feel like we're losing a bit of Seventeen's identity since they acquired Pledis.
I felt this with GFRIEND when Source Music merged with HYBE, their sound changed and I'm so afraid the same thing would happen with Seventeen and Nu'est. Change isn't bad, especially if it's the artists' own choice and it definitely part of growing but you don't want to lose your identity with it. I just feel like HYBE is dipping their hands too much in to some that wasn't broken to begin with.
I WILL SAY. What I am glad about this song is the fact that the members who usually are at the bottom of the line distribution on title track actually got to shine more. Like we actually got to hear Dino SING sing?!? Jun, Dino, Minghao don't just have 1 line in chorus part? And Rap line Vocals? That was beautiful.

If I have to compare with ‘Anyone’ which is produced fully by Woozi and Bumzu, it sounds more Seventeen and it feels like it suits to be Seventeen usual title track more.
But if we want to push for US market and more general/casual listeners, i guess this is a change we need. But again I’m not sure about how to feel about RTL cause it sounds very unusual, very unfamiliar, yet it sounds good. And I agree with what PD says about this, like it’s good but as an avid listener of Seventeen, I’m not 100% bought by it

I’m not complaining about hybe or other producer getting involved with the production. Don’t get me wrong, I like this song and I still completely support them. I’m just saying that this cb feels unfamiliar, unusual, and bit more different than the usual SVT color. It is good to have changes like this too, it helps them to grow even more as an artist. I think I just feel something is missing, which I think is this SVT’s vibe (it’s not like it’s not there but it’s just not as prominent as before and it’s more subtle in this song). But yeah I guess changes are still hard to swallow :))

It is different but the song is good. It didn't take anything away from Seventeen. The song is catchy, the choreo is insane, the vocals are on point, the boys look beautiful. I'm a happy Carat.
With the MV.. I think Rigend and DigiPedi just set the bar so high that this MV pales in comparison. MV was produced by Dextor-Lab - the director worked mostly with YG artists (most recently, Rose's On The Ground). I am not sure if this has something to do with YG Plus doing the distribution for this album. That being said, I just need Rima/Rigend (Hit, Fear, Fallin Flower, Spider) to work with SVT again.

While I agree this has been a surprise from them, I really enjoyed this song! I’m always happy to support SVT and their artistic choices - it’s their music after all and as artists they should never compromise. I love watching them grow and try out new styles, and Seventeen are such a versatile group that their sound can never be drowned out, even with something as bombastic as RTL. The MV on the other hand…the rain scene def made up for all the lacking parts and I’m often wondering if these were really the same adorable boys in Adore U. It's fascinating to see such a difference in opinion. For me who has largely just listened to svt on the side with their title tracks and few b-side this actually really blows my mind. Altho the fiest thought that popped in my mind was the fact that this doesn't sound like usual svt but it also does not not sound svt which i think is really clever. Svt is been a grp for 6 years and chnages in sound are bound to happen to any grp as they move forward. If svt sticked to the same exact way it wouldn't have helped them grow rather they would've been stuck in the same position but rtl kinda showed the a new direction they experimented to go. I think what you missed is what pd said about hybe being able to provide them help to experiment this new realm since they were already wanting to go to the us market this rtl song will become a stepping stone in my opinion to where they will go from now. It's not wrong that fans have difference in opinions. But i think fans are misunderstanding the approach that hype is neither manipulating svt to become something but rather providing a huge platform to convey themselves and the hybe team being included kinda stands on the same realm that the input that they need rn to produce a int friendly yet svt song can be provided yo them thru this. Personally as a i would say rtl has made me feel like wanting to be in the fandom and i am sure that i am not the only one. This way svt will be bringing bew listeners to the table and widening their range of viewers

I think your gfriend comment kind of does not make sense yo me maybe i have lack of input in that but mago and apple were single handedly my favourite girl grp song of that year and i don't even listen to gfriend that much. The hybe input and money that went in on gfriend i felt like opened eyes of many towards the potential of gfriend. Yes its a shame that gfriend had to disband it may be some internal conflict like contract or money or the internal matters but i don't think the inclusion of hybe team in the musicallty of gfriend was it.

Well I think I've listened to this song about 100 times for almost 4 days during programming my program lol
    I love it so much
    This is literally my style!

I'm a carat, and i've listened to literally every song seventeen has presented (those which Woozi made for other artists too) and this really was a completely different style, like I sometimes I thought I was hearing BTS Jimin instead of Joshua... It's a song that screams "Seventeen is now HYBE"
I didn't really got the idea of the M/V, it seemed kind of poorly done (not talking about svt, they saved this video lol), the only part I liked was the rain scene, and the FINALLY FAIR LINE DISTRIBUTION; the song is catchy, though.
And I don't know, I mean I'm really grateful, because HYBE is able to skyrocket Seventeen in one comeback the way Pledis (actually, mostly Seventeen) struggled to do in six years. Of course now they have the money, the fame, etc, but... I guess this "HYBE buying them" move doesn't give me good vibes..

I definitely agree!!! Like I don't dislike the song and there are parts of it I actually like, but the song doesn't seem like a SVT song to me, and it's giving me anxiety on whether this was out of Woozi and Bumzu's will or not
