You know what you should have done when that engine eventually fired up & that is give it some good damn hard revving to get the oil circulating & clear the carb at the same time! Trust me that will be very beneficial!

@@WymiataczPlays go for it brother, I had this Volvo when I was living in Alaska I unfortunately sold it to a buddy when I moved. I’ve only seen one other 142 but it was in MUUUUCHHHH better condition
It was already installed when I purchased her. From what I could find it was a bigger Webber that replaced the dual carb set up. I found the kit on google once I can’t remember the site.

Do you recall what the temperature outside was? And were you using a heater block?
It was about 12°F and I had no block heater
How long does it take to start on a really cold morning if you don't use any choke?
without choke is damn near impossible, especially with the mechanical fuel pump and after market carb.
