Thanks. You are a lifesaver
Thank you. He did add chapters.
Would be nice to have timestamps for sections
Edit: done apparently 🎉
@@workwithocean do you mean that this channel is more about the money than the quality ?
As of 2023/03/11, i see he added Chapter timestamps❤
For people that use the Linux terminal in ChromeOS; if you're using something like Vim, you might remap your keys for different reasons. I know a lot of people remap Caps-Lock to Esc, for example. This is likely one of the major use cases for that want to remap what seems to be important keys.
Thank you very much for sharing, these options made my Chromebook experience way better!
Great video! I never knew much about Chrome books and I want one now.
Super handy! I've been on ChromeOS 120 and I missed all the stuff behind the flags. Thanks!
great video. to the point, handy and practical. all videos.
Thanks Robbie that was very helpful
Thanks for showcasing these, very useful. One suggestion if you could please also show any differences in UI in tablet mode configuration.
That faster split screen feature is awesome. Definitely going to enable it. Hope it comes in a newer version soon.
This is honestly my most anticipated feature. I am just so happy it is finally coming because it makes using split screen so much faster and nicer compared to before
It's a copy of a Windows 10 feature. The hover over Maximise popout is from Windows 11. Google aren't inventing split screen, they're ripping off the ideas Microsoft have 😂
@@bradavon I mean I never said that it was a new idea, the reason why I said anticipated was because I use the feature on my Windows 10 PC all the time and really miss how nice it was to have when I have to use my laptop
So what is your point sir@@bradavon
I have a question is this like an android os that can support a 64 bit nvidia can it support next gen laptops from 2021?.
as someone who dosen't use chrome os anymore this is very useful
Awesome & Thanks :)
Yes, lots of interesting stuff in here. I recently put ChromeOS Flex on a Lenovo Y700 i7 and it got #120 last weekend. Runs very nicely for a machine that’s not “officially supported”.
Does chrome os flex support play Store or any other support for applications ?
Please do a video exploring the "Allow multiple Crostini containers" os flag. If you go into "Manage Extra Containers" / "Create a New Container " / Advanced, you get some intriguing options such as creating a container from an Ansible playbook.
Also, we finally have Debian 12 Bookworm containers.
bookworm seems slower than bullseye - at least from my use. Is anyone running OpenCore/OSX from a container (lxc) on ChromOS?
I like these new features, thanks for sharing. I do have a question: is Chrome Base dead? I haven't seen any announcements for new Chromebases from CES or anything. Have they moved on and concentrating only on laptops and tablets? Are there any models coming or models you'd recommend?
Awesome video, turning Chromebook users into power Chromebook users!
Hopefully my school allows the desk changing, it would be a giant game changer for me when I’m cooking up work
Honestly I'd like to see the same desks switcher experience with just one icon, click or hovering shows other desks like Windows 11 Desktop Switcher. Long desks switcher kinda feels like taking a lot of spaces.
I'm enjoying my new chromebook. I did the Native Client feature, Smooth Scrolling, Enable adaptive charging feature, ChromeOs Settings Revamp, Auto Dark Mode Website feature, enable support tool, enable wallpaper search settings visibility from chrome;flags.
I'm surprised that the volume-off icon is still missing from the taskbar - even though the do-not-disturb icon is. And STILL no Photos integration similarly to how Drive can be used.
I do remap the search key on all my Chromebooks to "caps lock". Because that's what that key is on every other keyboard. And if I leave it with its default setting mayhem ensues when I touch-type.
would changing the main keys have more relevance for ChromeOS Flex? On my Flex laptop I may want to swap some of the main keys..
The F11 and F12 option is not to remap but to map those buttons on a Chromebook like the one you're using that doesn't have those physical keys.
I have both Macbook and Windows laptop, but I realize that most of my works are happening on browser. I am considering to get a Chromebook now.
How is your experience for phone hub and nearby share between your phone and your Chromebook?
I feel like when I first Link them, everything is quick how it should work, but after some time it takes literally 10 minutes to transfer a single photo. Is this something you guys also experienced?
i'm using an older chromebook
this action key, is it only available in newer chromebooks?
I have the Logitech M705 (quite a few years old). Once I enable button customization, the left and right button got swapped (as if it's now a left-handed mouse)!!
In the last couple of yrs Google is going 180 deg from the initial intention of their products. Where and what happened to the KISS methods that made Chromebooks fun and easy to use. I spent my whole working life in the IT environment in the automotive business when the true office automation started to move into the workplace in 1984.
Is that the 16 gb version of the CX34 in your thumbnail?
Would be good if you could clear app data and cache for an Android app from Chrome Settings.
Agreed, uninstalling and reinstalling isn't ideal for Android Apps on a Chromebook.
2:25 Regarding Nearby share there is a PC version of it for windows and it does work from PC to PC just like Phone to PC. I have been using it since it came out. About Old quick share there was a windows version of it but only for samaung devices runing windows . With newer version it looks like it will be for everyone just like Nearby Share 👍
Last week my Chromebook Duet 1st gen got ChromeOS 121 and there is a big change. It's no longer 32bit, it now reports as being 64bit!
Where did you find it
bluetooth LC3 and Auracast?
Some of these flags might be Chromebook Plus only? I don't have all of them on Version 120.0.6099.203 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Acer Chromebook Spin 713 (e.g. faster split screen).
Mine is older chromebook. Seeing OS updates coming later than others. It's 2024/03/11 now. Do you see now? Remember, too, he is choosing to turn on options that are still being tested for 120.
Where did the desktop button you clicked come from? You didn't explain. I'm on 121 and I don't see what you did.
An high end Chromebook would be so cool
I remap the launch button. Whatever it's called. This is because I'm 60% on Debian, coding, and I prefer to be on a simple bluetooth keyboard. Fingers on keys. If I hit CapsLock and the launch window opens I might swear, or in extremis fall off my chair.
I dare say that is a bit of an edge case. (but the chromebook serves both purposes at a goodly price - pointy-clicky AND coding and cross compiling to the little machines I code for)
Thanks for the vids.
I also remap my Launcher key to Esc and my Esc to Launcher key. The reason is also because I am mostly in Crostini, I use (neo)vim a lot, and a common trick in vim is to remap Caps Lock to Esc to get more ergonomic mode switching.
While this remap does make a few shortcuts non-ergonomic (the one that switches workspaces are especially bad), I still like the fact that this is possible in the first place.
@@k0kada I'm in neovim most of the time. Coding on the chromebook, or ssh into my flock of raspberry pi's.
I hope that Framework Laptop have same thing?
I just wish they add Play Store into ChromeOS Flex, so many of us have great devices already and why not be able to use it at full potencial instead of having to buy a separate one.
The new Faster Split Screen isn't new. What's new is it now also works without touch. The ChromeOS touch UI already did this .
You really need a top down camera, your Pixel 8 could do that
If you want to do something like play CZcams Music, Is it better to use the Android app or use a PWA?
I prefer the web version. Sometimes I want to listen to a video when using music, but then it cuts off the music, instead of playing it in the background. Not sure if there is an option to fix this. But its irritating.
i would love to have a chromebook book with a oled or mini-led screen and at least 90hz. It would be so much better to do some browsing and watch some content in it. I have a m1 macbook pro, but lately i have been thinking abou changing for a chromebook, since that the chrome book is to overkill for me and i have a pixel. A chromebook would be perfect for my kind of use of a "laptop". But unfortunately, there is no type of Chromebook with this screen. I'll wait to launch a new Chromebook with these screens in the near future
Why does not working apple macbook device in chrome os
I have watched several of your videos. And I'm thinking about moving to the Chrome of wish. What is the cheapest way I can get in to Chrome? Arrests buying a chrome plus unit
hi chromeunboxed, how to password sudo terminal on linux chromebook
Good grief, I'm an idiot. I've been trying the four finger swipe to navigate between virtual desks while in tablet mode and wondering why it wasn't working. Would be nice if it did.
Are we seeing issue with Chrome OS Version 121.0.6167.212 (Official Build) (64-bit) and phone hub lost or will not setup an Android phone.
I have used a chromebook for a number of years now and have owned several but as I get older (I am 76) I am experiencing a problem I have never thought about before. My eyes are very poor. To view content I can use the accessibility settings so I don't have problems seeing that, but settings and notifications pop up and they are too small for me to be able to see. This is made worse because often the contrast in the letters is not great enough to be read by someone with bad eyesight. I have looked through all the settings that I can find, and can find no way of fixing this. I am sure I can't be the only one experiencing this problem, and it will get worse as users get older. This isn't a problem exclusive to Chromebook, as my other tech (such as a smartwatch) is suffering the same problem. Is there anyone who can suggest a way to combat this? I would be very grateful for any help. The tech companies don't seem interested.
Getting a bit frustrated at lack of real OS features in ChromeOS. Where is the Windows app support that was promised with Proton support?
How do you "Turn off Virtual Desk's?" I mean completly no "Desk 1" at all?
When Bard comes to Chromebooks, please do a video. Here, on Windows 10, we have CoPilot everywhere. 😫😁
It will 100% be locked to chromebook plus models anyway
@@Red_Panduhwhy would it be locked to Chromebook Plus models? Google Bard is mostly results from the cloud just like a basic Google search.
BOOM
My ONLY complaint about Chromeos is that the changes to the user interface are always in the direction of intrusion into how the user has chosen to work. While some people may benefit from such guidance, those who are truly proficient don't need in their facer icons on the shelf to tell them the downloaded something
The "whats new" is still showing old stuff after 3 updates..... feels like Google does not care anymore lol.
I stopped using my 16Gb of RAM expensive Pixelbook and started using my Samsung S7 tablet full time when Google created the issue of not being able to connect to my printer anymore
...and no, my Chromebook is not able to connect via IP to my printer either.
A gent flew from NY to London, UK, from there to Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦 to try find a Chromebook Plus. No luck. The industry should step up production and distribution to what the market demands: 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD. We aren't always online, as for technical service interruptions, and we need storage in-device. The industry is deluded.
When they make it to android phone as a theme/desktop/OS... When... We can afford to wait.
Can i remove windows for ChromeOS? if yes how?
Can't wait for more 300 OS update 😂
neden sadece andorid x86 projesini geliştirmiyorsunuz. android linux degilmi telefon oyunlarını pc de kasmadan oynamak istiyoruz
Quick share is on Android
never used a chromebook before, why should I choose this over cheap windows laptop.
Sir why my Chromebook is pink shaking screen
Adobe pro and valaront go in chromw os
It's last but not least
Can you name Desktops?
its built on linux kernal and it supports only small subset of devices that linux kernal supports. It is not viable os for developers due to locked nature of the system. It looks nice, but project is going in wrong direction and ui updates wont fix that.
I actually don't like the new UI tabs
I wish the Chrome team would simply copy how MS Edge does their sidebar. I hate the current sidebar in Chrome.
What’s with the long and unnecessary introductory monologue????
how did you manage to download whatsapp without using whatsapp web
Please support apple device
Yeah whatever but when are they gonna let you add apps to the freaking homescreen? And NOOOOOO i dont mean on the stupid panel i want apps on the wallpaper and crap like that like windows and mac os and practically EVERY FREAKING pc operating system lets you do. Except chrome os
Chrome os automatically makes me stay away
First!
Second 😂
Third
can you help me how to block school acc
Mickey mouse just get windows
Slowly chrome os will kill windows ✌️
Google have copied Windows split screen AGAIN😂. That new feature came from Windows 10. The hover over Maximise popout is from Windows 11. You should give credit where it's due. Google aren't inventing split screen, they're ripping off the ideas Microsoft have 😂
So... does Google pay you for shilling for them? For kissing their ass? Sure you're not upset that Chromebooks aren't as nice as MacBooks? Do you miss the integration with iPhones, Apple Watches, and iPads?
chromeos is dead
Just buy any android tablet and add cheap keyboard its way smarter
Chrome book is just like dumb tablet
