He has an overall better recovery since he has more mobility in the air. His fsmash can deal a lot of damage and his dsmash can launch people at very horizontal angles. He has a great air game. His dair can SPIKE if you hit it just right, unlike Link. And let's not forget his arsenal of projectiles for his specials. His boomerang can deal a lot of damage at point blank and he can drop bombs on enemies to stun them for an easy aerial finish. I went on a little bit of a rant there, but you should go watch his YL All-Star TAS, cause that's a lot better than this video of trying to make a slow-ass Link fast.

Link can't spike with Down-Air, but it's easier to kill with at high amounts of damage, and his Up-B on the ground spikes anyone. That's because Young Link is overall faster, speedwise, but he's a weaker version of Link, hence why Link took less time to kill enemies in here.

I don't know if it is me that I'm a bad player but how come link's bombs explode so near and don't damage him?, how you defeated Ganondorf with less than 100%? And how in the Ice Climbers mountain you got magnified and didn't got any damage?
I does have a chance to dissappear if you swing to far past a collidable surface but it's the opening to a couple glitches that really help with recovery. seriously one sends you really far up.

I always find Link's hookshot is risky in Melee. Not the grab one but as a recovery.
