  • Can 50cc Monkey Bikes get 1350km across Romania?

50cc Monkey Bike ride 1350km / 835 miles across Romania in July 2018!
Trying to keep off main roads as much as possible on fairly rubbish 50cc (Skyteam) Monkey Bikes, we make a journey to test ourselves and these bikes to their limits.
We set off from Sighetu Marmației, North Romania on the boarder of Ukraine, over the Carpathians, down and across to the South Eastern boarder in Vama Veche.
Most days were 12 hours waking at 5AM and going by 6AM, finishing when it got dark at about 6/PM.

Nice. Here in my country these bikes are super popular amongst youth since here you can drive these 50cc bikes at the age of 15

Man, this is by far a better adventure than those bigtrails protune mode suspensions blablabla motorbikes! I'm laughing every single minute of video!

This video convinced me that Monkey Bikes can make the Trans-American Trail. I always see videos where people use expensive dual sport or adventure bikes, but there is no reason to spend that much money. It wouldn't be too hard for my cousins and I to acquire some 2019 Honda Monkey bikes.

You guys did a Proper Adventure. Congratulations. The route selection, lovely. The patience to do all that shooting, and in foul weather, no less. My căciulă is off to the videography team. If there is a "making of" film that describes the number and types of cameras, and how you kept mud out of everything, that would be another one not to miss. -- Carpe Brewski --

Thanks buddy! We all did on those underpowered adventure machines! :) My setup just consisted of my phone (oneplus 6), gopro (hero 3+) everyone elses phones and gopros (session) + the drone (mavic pro). I was going to take a 2 axis gimbal too but i think i would have falled off the bike trying to work that and ride straight. Hope youve got some footage too ? Looking forward to seeing everyone elses.

You should ride Norway from the south up to Europe most northern point along the coast and up the mountains. It ain't that expensive on a moped or motorcycle and I would defiantly join you on my 114cc Skyteam DAX and show you some of the hidden gems :D

I think my 125 cc monkey bike would do just as good, it tops out at over 100 km/h and it isn't one bit as scary as it sounds like.
A little bit of resto now, and mine will be good as new ^_^

You're in for a hell of an adventure! Keep off the main red roads, blue or green roads are great, even better are tracks that don't even show as roads on satellite images and look half washed away. Oh, and take tyreweld!
