- Wow.. Check out this Wild Bobcat that we got on film last night lurking around the house! Absolutely beautiful! What an amazing creature. I think we've been blessed by the forest spirits! As soon as our cat saw this Bobcat she split into the house like lightning! lol (But seriously glad she knows to keep away from them!) what a beautiful animal. the way you capture it's brain trying to process what it was looking at, it's uninhibited actions and everything about it's movements was so awesome. definitely a huge threat to your cats and geese though.

@@gergc4871 not a pet bobcats don't run that easy you should be afraid of it more than it is afraid of you. They are not like house cats and very tuff for its size. That's why they named bobcat construction equipment after them.
If you are close to something that you don't know, you don't show weakness by displaying fear and running away. You start running when you are far enough.
You should have taken out a red laser pointer and see if he would chase it.

Helen Must Actually hybrids do exist, it doesn’t happen often, but like a wolf/dog hybrid it does actually happen. And look up the origins of the Maine Coon cat, the prevailing theory is European settlers brought their domestic cats to America and those cats mated with the native wild cats (American bobcat). That’s why Maine coins have tuffs of fur on their ears like the bobcat.

We always think that humans are the kings of nature and where we make our house is somewhat to be considered as our natural habitat (basically, everywhere where we can step into and build house to live in, we consider as OUR territory). But is is not like that. If you moved to live closer to the wildlife, it is YOU living in a habitat of animals, who originally live there. So why you surprised they could be walking in THEIR territory next to your house? And didn't you know, that if predators killed your pets, it is entirely your fault, because you were not cautious enough? You knew where you moved, and you knew the dangers around, and you still didn't protect your pet? I'm outta words, because I don't wanna be rude to you. People blaming wild animals for their own arrogance, ignorance and lack of common sense. Fantastic. Really, I'm out of words.

Incredible footage! I love watching the tail wag as the Bobcat sights the geese on the pond. Funny how you can see the anxiety and excitement in their tails whereas the rest of their body remains still and composed, in wild and domestic(house) cats.

Bobcats and floppas are the only 2 big cats I can think of whos face doesn't make me anxious. The just look like the standard cat model
When I was a baby my parents had a cat who was half bobcat named Nubbins (after her smol tail). For some reason she adopted me, and she was like my second mother. Some of my earliest memories are of the sound of her purring. She was super patient and tolerant, and even had my back when a neighbor's dog tried to attack me. She...showed him the error of his ways, and he never bothered me again.

Half bobcat? Bobcats can breed with domestic cats?
@@SaintFort Bobcats are more likely to eat housecats but in theory they can mate, chances of succesfully having offspring are slim however. There's no definitive evidence of any existing hybrids so op having had a actual half bobcat as a pet is highly improbable.
Domestic/wild cat breeds also just don't make for good house pets because they're still largely wild in behavior and thus much more demanding and dangerous. You have to breed hybrids with domestic cats for at least four generations before they start to mellow out, look at Savannah cats (half serval) as a example if you're curious.

@@kapperoutdoors Thank you, she is my little Vampyre - Named her that because when I found her she was 4 weeks old and when I picked her up she bit my thumb and then proceeded to suck the blood because she was so hungry. Nursed her with formula for the next 6 weeks, got the bot fly larva out of her jaw, and managed after 3 months to finally get rid of all the different infections. She is now a healthy loving girl. Who by the way still loves blood....mainly my roommates parakeets, you would think after 5 she would quit getting new ones lol.

Been told now to leave the den in order for the new kittens. A youngster now looking for new territory for themselves. Also is smelling the lovely house cat and looking for their dinner. Many house pets do go missing this way and that is why cats should be kept inside and is one reason ( safety )

About 10 years or so ago, a lynx used to sun itself on my south facing deck during the winter. It was so beautiful, regal and relaxed. I miss him.

Not really. I used to think that , but we lived for years in an area that had big populations of them and cougars, and the bobcats were around a lot, but it was rare to catch sight of a cougar.

The first few seconds of your video are incredible. That's because the bobcat is right in the middle of the picture but you can't see him.
