Belgrade, Montana Physical Therapist Assistant Emily Decker demonstrates a dynamic hip strengthening exercise that will help with gait improvement using a chair.
Trendelenburg Gait, or a lurching or waddling gait caused by hip weakness, can be reduced by actively strengthening the muscles of the hip. Improving gait can help decrease back and knee pain due to overcompensation of the muscles while increasing range of motion.

I have been walking like this for over 2 years , I went 2 times for PT , different years , same ole exercises each time,
and I been doing these exercises for 2 1/2 years and I haven't seen any changes.
If I go to PT again , it will be the same exercises , it's like I am in a Loop ( doing the same exercises and no progression ) .
It's not making any differences .

You should start to feel results almost immediately when you combine the exercises with stretching. It depends, it takes time and is different for each body.

I’ve been doing this and more, the clam exercise and lying on side to lift
3 times a week for 5 years after hip replacement and it’s still a problem.

What could have been a wonderful video about strengthening the hips, is rather *mediocre* because of the *weak* resolution. 240p is just *not* enough, Emily. Well - what the heck: thumbs up anyway.
