- Hi!
This video series will be covering my painting this skate deck up for the Great Texas Panel jam which is held at the Dallas Autorama. The deck will be auctioned off where all the proceeds will be donated to the Scottish Rite Hospital.
-The background of the board was painted be another artist years ago and then sent to me to do as i wished. I'm mortified to say i forget who that was and they did not sign the back, its a beautiful background for me to do my handy work, thank you whomever you are
-Part 1 will cover the silver leaf and lay out portion.
blocking in the base colors and part 2 will cover everything else, the details, pinstriping and more.
-This was a struggle getting this video together my system kept freezing so this one might be a little rushed thru. Part 2 should have more real time mixed in

I like the idea of using a microfiber towel. I will try that the next time The deck looks great. I have a problem with the edges coming up so it looks like I really need to make sure they are pressed down. Thanks 👍👍👍

Hello Jen,
Please, can you give us some tips or directions about how to use Dux ?
Thank you !
Hiya I may have gone over Dux info in the how to silver leaf video. Give that a look over. With any size give it a good stir. You can tint it with 1shot or another enamel paint, and also yoh can thin it if need be with pure gum turps. Take a look at that leaf video. Lots of insight
@@HotRodJenPinstriping Thank you !
Is felt too coarse to use for engine turning? I only ask because you mentioned using velvet.
there are 2 main types of leaf, Genuine (real real gold and precious metals) and then Dutch/Imitation. Each one normally requires its different material to be able to make effects on the leaf. for Genuine yes felt would be too course. Velvet is preferred. But on dutch/imitation you can use various items to make effects that are considered more course. Check out my introduction to leafing material video it covers this, and why.
