Reykjavik Volcano Geyser, Lava 1100 Feet In The Air - Terrific Sound

  • Reykjavik has a new Volcano Geyser now, witch shoots lava few hundred meters in the air every few minutes, this is the volcano view from Reykjavik
This is the real sound from the volcano, we vent to the volcano site to record it, but you can´t hear the volcano it in Reykjavik, maybe on a still night you might :)
The church in the foreground is Hallgrimskirkja
The video was shot wen the lava bursts were at there highest with high zoom, 45km away from the eruption, the wobbling in the video is from the heat rising from the ground.
Nothing has been faked in the video, this is how it came out of the camera, only some color balancing has been done
The national meteorological office of Iceland measured one geyser during the dawn of May 5 and was able to record a height of over 1,500 feet (460 meters). Fagradalshraun volcano's powerful bursts have thrown hot rock fragments known as tephra. It landed several hundred meters from the crater where the uninhabited area of the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwestern Iceland is located.
here are some more volcano videos seen from Reykjavik:

The Hallgrímskirkja is supposed to evoke the style of a Viking longship. It's really beautiful inside- all white and minimalist gothic windows. It's named after Hallgrímur Pétursson, a 17th century Icelandic Christian poet whose " Psalms" were much loved. You can go up the tower in a lift for the best panoramic views over Reykjavík! It also houses a magnificent pipe organ built by German firm, Klais.

If you used the sound you record with the side of the volcano, then you should write it. Nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, I woke up and ate breakfast with the kids and then drove 'em to school; went to shop for groceries; stopped at the post office and then the hardware store; came home and walked the dog; watched a thousand foot ploom of scathing hot lava spew out of the nearest volcano. Ho hum, just another average morning...

    • @angrylizard8054

Many of Iceland's volcanoes were very well hidden in the landscape, and slept for quite a long time.By the time they woke up,cities had already been built in the surroundings, with most people not even being aware that there was a volcano nearby(just like in Pompeii). And they can't simply move away to a safer area, because it's not only impossible to move that many people, but it's also unnecessary, since Iceland's volcanoes aren't even THAT dangerous.Sure there's the lava, but it has proven to not be that big of a deal since 1973.

@@dudeonbike800 And BTW, it wouldn't wipe out North America in an instant. There would be an instant kill zone of a few hundred miles radius, followed by a hot ash zone spanning much of the Pacific Northwest and Midwestern states, and ash would continue to rain down on a good portion of the continent but a substantial portion would be spared. However, the ash circulating in the atmosphere would block out most of the light from the sun and the entire planet would eventually be plunged into something resembling a nuclear winter, possibly for a decade or longer.
