    What a mountain pass. The Col du Galibier has been featured in The Tour de France too. It's a beautiful trip for an adventurer. I love to be adventurous, and I'm a wimp compared to places you have been. I'm happy being a chair potato too, as your videos take me to places I may never see in person. Your hard work and dedication to being a traveler/adventurer has me slightly jealous.. lol. I would love to travel, but I know I can't go too far. I am happy being squished into your camera to see what you see, though. Thank you for taking us over the Alps, and can't wait to see more mountain top vistas like this one. 🤗📸📷🐸

    Definitely one of the most impressive Cols I’ve had the pleasure of driving.

    Itś beautiful there. I spend my holiday in the French Alps in september and it was beautiful. Unfortunally it was a little foggy when we were on La Meije and on the Col du Galibier.

    Love those switchbacks near the summit:). Also this is one of those roads that I think would look good when filmed with the camera facing the side as well.

    Weird that the road to the top of the mountain pass was built after the tunnel. Usually, it's the other way around.

    Breathtaking ride, thank you ! That's incredible to see so little snow in these 3.000/4.000 meters altitude mountains in Europe ! etenal snow limit is highter and highter every year in the Alps.
    Somebody have the name of the introducing theme (0.00to0.05) please?

      This part of the Alps is drier and warmer so it has less permanent snow than you would find at similar altitudes in Switzerland and Austria.

    Cyclists and open cliffs, two things that make me feel cautious while I'm driving.

    No guard rails?

    • @EuropeanRoads
      @EuropeanRoads  Před 5 lety +4

      Generally not along these types of roads. Mountain roads with higher traffic volumes and year-round opening generally have some guardrails. The difference with Italy is huge though, Italian roads are completely boxed in with guardrails.
