I don't understand how monsta x can be so criminally underrated. Their songs are just ridiculously good
The Public Relations machine for BTS is always churning out stuff to make the members relevant to the point of attaining household name status. Other great bands like Monsta X and Super Junior among many others, don't need all the constant hype. They can get by pretty well on their merits. BTS , though a good band, will see a complete slow down in relevance, once the members get conscripted for Duty. They're fortunate enough with all the hard work they've put in in the past 10 years, they have staying power.

@@curiefong5502 not trying to sound rude, cuz I do like BTS, but I don't think they have anything to do with how much monsta x is underated. Their success didn't impact other groups get super successful too in the east and west, like Twice, Stray Kids or Seventeen. The truth is some other k-pop groups looked like they were in the path of becoming super big in the west too like them around 2017/2018 (around the time that BTS exploded there), like monsta x and GOT7, but with the western media trying to suppress them and the "scandal" involving monsta x that lead to one member leaving the group they lost a lot of the hype on the eyes of the public. In the case of GOT7 J.Y.P never gave them the attention they deserve so they never reached the pick of popularity they surely could have. BTS stays in relevance because they are blessed with a big and loyal fan base and a company that didn't abandon them in the past when they were struggling or now that they are getting old. A lot of groups don't have the same luck, especially with their company, and that's why they start to fade away eventually which is a shame.

Monsta x is a male kpop group that debuted on the 14 of may 2015 under Starship Entertainment with their MV and EP "Trespass" after being formed on a survival show called "no mercy", They tend tend to have intense verses and melodic choruses, however they are very versatile and can have more of a softer tone/concept to some of their songs like those in their all english album called "all about luv", they have so many interesting concepts, amazing storylines in their videos, and intense choreographies. To top it off they're incredibly talented vocalists (especially their main vocalist Kihyun), amazing dancers, and they have one of, if not the best raplines in kpop of their generation.
