Fantastic interview with a lovely man and extremely skilled remixer at the tiime (the best imho). Have bought his CD-compilation, gotta buy his book now. Thanks for posting the clip.

I'd never seen this. Such an eloquent, honest guy - I'm definitely going to buy his book now! :)

I was lucky to interview Phil back in 2006 (before the book) and can honestly say that he's one of the nicest people I've ever interviewed. If you're interested in the SAW/PWL history from a somewhat different view, read his book! And read the "Expanded Edition" if you can.

To me Phil Harding IS the best remixer in the world. When you get a phil harding remix you'll always in for something very special. He not only remixed the songs but his remixes often added extra melodies that very few remixers were capable of. My favorite remixes (from Stock/Aitken/Waterman or from outside of The Hit Factory) are often Phil Harding remixes.
The best Phil Harding remixes to me :
Kylie's extended remixes for "Hand On Your Heart", "Step Back In Time" & "What Do I Have To Do"
Pet Shop Boys Phil Harding remix for "Always On My Mind" and
Depeche Mode Phil Harding remix for "StrangeLove" as well as
All of Phil Harding extended remixes for Dead Or Alive.
And with his pal Ian Curnow he also wrote amazing songs for Sonia, Kylie and produced incredible things for East 17. Phil Harding's work accompanied me and the artists I loved in my youth. I can't forget ever his incredible work. We owe him a lot. His nickname was Mister Mix Master and he truly is. Only a selected few (like Shep Pettibone maybe) could produced that many great remixes. He made music history. I bought his book and it's a great in-depth story of all the work he did for S/A/W.

this guy is amazing. has a great grasp of how to make music

I suggest watching this with Stock Aitken and Waterman's Gold Album playing in the background on Media Player! And as Phil (The Mixmaster Supreme) talks about each track, just click play! It really gives you the feeling of the stories behind the music. Different Class lads! Oh and my fave Phil Harding and Ian Curnow remix is Blue Mercedes, Love Is The Gun (Street Latin Wolff Mix III). Pure London House perfection.

Thanks so much for this video. I'm a big fan of PWL, SAW and of course Phil. I've never seen before an Interview with this master of Sound :-) I love the music and also the typical SAW-Sound......created by Phil! PWL 4 ever!!!!!

If you're a fan of the music of PWL/Stock Aitken Waterman (as I am) this interview (and Phil's book) are a must.
    Excellent and thankyou.

I love Phil Harding and PWL, and but not a lot new was revealed with this interview. It was interesting to hear about his dealings with Pete Burns. I always wondered how the guitar and drum players in bands such as Brother Beyond and Sigue Sigue Sputnick would act when they had PWL productions, since PWL provided almost all the sounds. Thanks for the interview

The difference between a Pete Waterman interview and a Phil Harding interview is Pete's are a lot shorter, less factual and a lot of pixie dust. This interview is long, factual & technical but is just as interesting if your a fan of the PWL sound.

And what is interesting is that Phil Harding actually helped saving a lot of PWL songs as his mixes are far less dated than the original SAW produced ones...

    Each business, entrepreneur.
①. My current activity is to send a message to anyone who has or is interested in the company's music department.
②. I would like to establish Motomachi, Yokohama. My background is records. I have been working in a retail store for 20 years. The stores are mainly rental businesses, but there are also buyers who specialize in records and CDs.
③. Its main function is a new product that handles disco / club records and CDs. There is no such shop around Yokohama. There are several chairs and tables in the store.
④. Chairs and tables are required by the customer who purchased the product.
You can inspect products, install drinking water, and secure space.
⑤. It leads to the revitalization of the city and contributes to society. I am looking forward to seeing the scouts.

Phil is a silent genius, secretly standing behind the most of PWL works. :) By the way, what happened to Markee Studio as a brand, did it go into decline or was somehow transformed into another one?
