  • I share my experiences with growing this spidermites magnet of a philodendron.
    The philodendron verrucosum, might be getting some bad press for the fact it is a spidermite magnet but it is still an awesome plant to grow in your house. And it can get huge

    I just potted my verrucosum cuttings from moss into pon and it made me so nervous 😄 so that was the video I needed today! Thank you so much for your amazing content! 🙏

    I got this plant before watching any videos. Upon receiving it I decided to check out a few videos and then I got scared of everyone’s negative response to it. But honestly, this plant isn’t that difficult for me. I even have it in an airy soil mix and it’s pushing out a new leaf. So not sure why I am having an easier time with it but thankful I am! The plant is stunning especially like you said when the light hits it just right. Anyway, new subscriber. Enjoy listening to your plant wisdom!

    Thanks for pointing out their tendency to attract spider mites! They are always present at my place so I don’t need plants that are a magnet for them!

    hahaha 3:19 me too
    I was supposed to write to you that when I get a notification about your film - I'm cooking a miracle - / a few days ago my friends brought me a gift from Cyprus / carob coffee ♥
    and watch over a cup of this coffee!
    Oh, I also have seeds that I'll start planting in February

      Yeah I think there are definately a few of us that are over carers / over waterers 😅😅😅😅
      Ahhh that is awesome yeah carob trees grow like weeds in Cyprus, so the island makes loads of products from it. I didn't know they made a carob coffee, I have only every tried the carob honey.
      Ahhh cool yeah the seeds will love it. If you are planing on growing carob, then treat it like an olive tree, most times they grow side by side 🌳🌳

    I might give the pon a go, mine did great for a year but after going on holiday for 2 weeks and having someone else water it it has nosedived to the extent its now 20+ nodes in a propagator!

    I've had nothing but issues with this plant here in S FL. I've moved it inside to the ac so hopefully cooler Temps will help stabilize it.
    Has anyone else had issues with neem oil burning the leaves?
    I sprayed for mites and next morning the leaves were 80% brown. Hoping for suggestions🙏
    Thank you

    Beautiful plant. It is on my wish list. However, I have two Alocasia plants (Polly & Black Velvet). No pest…yet. So maybe ai will invest, but they are expensive here in the US.

    • @maryska1423
      @maryska1423 Před 2 lety +1

      in PL they were also very expensive recently - they could only be purchased from collectors. And today they are already available in plant stores and have very good prices / + - $ 50 /.
      I think if you wait, they will also come at good prices;)

    Pourriez vous me l'écrire svp ?

      @Houseplantygoodness  Před 2 lety

      Yes I think you are right with this mine struggles a big in the higher heat too, I wonder if they grow at a higher elevation, so they prefer slightly cooler temperatures 🤔🤔🤔

      @dewantoroo Před 2 lety

      @@Houseplantygoodness Maybe, i got mine from nursery on higher elevation than my place... The temperature is around 20°-25° C. They're thriving there. But probably it's also acclimating issues as well. Unfortunately seems like i can't figure out how to acclimate it to my place 🤣

    I think I have the same P. Verrucosum as you, I got mine as a single stem cutting last year, and after an initial setback from root stem rot I've finally transferred it from sphagnum moss to coir. It seems to be doing better. How do you feed your P.V I saw another utuber gives it miracle gro? I'd like the plant to get bigger leaves
