How To Clean Grout:
• How to Professionally ...
********************************************************************
In this video, I show you how to seal your grout without breaking your back and getting on your hands and knees!
It is important to seal your grout after you clean it to protect it from dirty mop water, animal urine, etc.
Ceramic tile grout absorbs everything when it is unsealed. So every time you clean your tile floors you dirty your grout.
How to seal your grout:
1.) Duck tape a paint brush to the end of a pole.
2.) Pour your grout sealer into a small container
3.) Dip your brush into the container an apply the sealer to the grout lines liberally.
5.) Mop the tile diagonally across floor to remove grout sealer from the tile surface. Don't push down too hard, we want to remove the sealer from the tile not the grout lines. - Jak na to + styl
"Grab you a paint brush..." Just moved to NY from TX so this reminds me of the south.
Great videos! That stuffed cat had me rollen! Thanks for sharing, I love your sense of humor🥰
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying the videos :)
Great! Where can I find that brush with the handle?
Thanks! I was able to seal the grout myself after the contractor bailed on me. Great video
You are welcome!
That was great! Thank you for both videos. What a pain in the butt project that was!!! But your videos were entertaining enough to say, Okay! Let’s do this! 😂🙌🏼
You are welcome!
Which seal was used or which is best used ?
That’s Genius!!! Doing this today!
Great! Happy to help🙂
Funny and smart. Love this video
Thanks for watching!
very helpful video! Love it!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Will this sealer work for bathroom shower tile
What is the timing from sealing to cleaning ? Thanks‼️
You seal after the grout has dried. So the day after.
Videos are great. Followed his video to clean tile, worked great. Now will clean grout and seal. His video is very funny, love the kitty and the wig.
Glad you are enjoying the videos Miss Anna!
Great idea! My knees are shot so this is so handy!
Happy to help!
Thank you!
You are welcome!
Good idea!
:-)
Great video! I plan to clean and seal my kitchen grout. How long do you need to wait after cleaning to seal it?
Thanks! Just wait till the grout dries and you can seal it from that point. Should only take a couple hours to dry.
@@CleanWithConfidence Thanks a bunch. Products ordered. Mr. Fuzzball is a nice touch.lol :-)
Love the intro!
lol
LOL "rotten biscuits" subbed
So it's ok if a little of the sealant gets on the tiles because it will be moped up? The point is to get a good coat on the grout itself. Does this take a while to dry as well? And is it pet safe.... I'm new to having tile; and I'm trying to learn as much as I can, so I can care for it the right way, and to the best of my ability. I'm new to your channel as well, and love your videos! Thank you.
Hey Vanessaxo Thanks for watching! Yes ma'am it's ok if the sealant gets on the tiles because it will be mopped up. You don't have to use a string mop. If you prefer a sponge mop, use that instead, whichever you feel comfortable with. The idea is to seal the porous grout so that the holes of the grout are closed and won't absorb dirty water.
Clean With Confidence Thank you!
You are welcome
Where can I get the cleaner and sealant. I I watched both videos and I loved them
I left links to them in the video description box👍🙂
Wonderful video! Thanks! I'm going to try it. But, I did a google on sealer and found this..."It usually takes the sealer around 4 hours before it is touch dry; which means that you can walk on it and return most furniture items after 4 hours of completing the job. However, you must not mop the tiles, or allow them to become wet for at least 24 hours as that can potentially wash off the sealer." What do you think?
Happy to help! Yes sounds about right👍
@@CleanWithConfidence So should we apply, leave for 4 hours before walking, then mop after 24 hours instead of your technique of mopping immediately after?
@@Laura-ps3tb the immediate mop is just to remove any remnant sealer that got on the tile as you were applying it. You arent pressing very hard though because if you press to hard the mop would remove sealer from the grout lines. You are simply glazing the surface after you apply the sealer👍
I'm not lazy but I'm getting older and with all my aches and pains, learning tricks to make cleaning and maintenance easier is right up my alley! Thanks!
You are very welcome!
lol ol. Rotten biscuits. Love the accent, it's spot on. I mean, if I'm gonna take precious time to watch a cleaning video, I might as well get a laugh while doing it. P.S. What's your kitty's name?
Ha! lol Glad you enjoyed the video. The kitty's name is Mr Fuzzball.
Thanks. Good info, concise with humor that’s actually funny. My wife has 2 cats at the moment normally there are 3. I have no doubt we will have a full roster soon. Don’t get me wrong I like them as well. However one of them is getting senile & sometimes forgets where the box is. You know from experience that cat pee is like nuclear waste. Btw we have grout everywhere. Guess I know what I will be doing this weekend. Thanks for the vid. Amazed you don’t have at least 50k in subs. Partner up with a similar channel or invite someone from a bigger channel on as a guest cleaner. Preferably a similar channel with a slightly different focus. Then you can go on their channel and post your best video or make a new one. I’m aware this is unsolicited advise. I’m in marketing & can’t help it. Good luck with the channel.
Thanks🙂
How long would you leave it to dry after cleaning before you seal
At least a few hours. It needs to be completely dry before you seal it.
How to seal a shower floor?
like a man with a pretty cat
Funny makes everything better! ha ha
Once you put the sealant on the grout how long did you wait before mopping up that area?
You mop it up immediately, just make sure you mop the tile and not the grout.
@@CleanWithConfidence seems like you’d be mopping it off the grout as well…even when going diagonal.
How much do I have to wait for sealant to dry before going over it with a wet sponge? Also what do I do with the leftover sealant in the tray if I can't use it all at once, will it be good for the next day if I leave it uncovered in the tray? Thanks!
For the sealant you don't use you can just put it back in the bottle. I would give it 24 hours to dry before going over it with a wet sponge.
Hi, is the sealer make my floors slippery? My mother is 80 yrs old and don't want to risk having slippery floors.
No ma'am you always clean it off of the tiles after you finish. You are sealing the grout not the actual tile floors.
@@CleanWithConfidence Thank you so much for your information. I will try it and let you know how it goes.
@@ioelisasili how did it go?
Love the humor! So happy to see the tip about using the paintbrush standing up.
A lady I know has the same floor at her shop she want me to do it but she ask me to wax it. Because she want it shiny I told her wax can't be done on that floor
Yes it would be a bad idea to wax tile
@@CleanWithConfidence what can I use to shine it?
I have a gloss sealer for the tile and grout from Home Depot.
Anyone- How frequently does the sealant need to be applied?
Everytime you deep clean your grout with the Grout Eez you will need to seal it👍
@@CleanWithConfidence How often does grout need deep cleaning?
@@Tholiusprobably once a year maybe twice depending on usage and how often you mop.
0:37 Is that you dropping in female Evan McGregor?
what, this video is about grout? I'm just watching the guy.
I don’t see the brand of sealer. Did I miss it???
I left a link in the description box
How often do you seal grout?
Just depends how much you mop and how strong of chemicals you use when mop. It's completely subjective.
Seems plain ole linoleum will be the best for me . Plain ole concrete floor of course . But thx anyway .
Bro get a solvent base penetrating sealer and use a microfiber pad/mop
Why?
Where did you get your cleaning supplies i.e the grout brush you used to clean the grout and the brush used to seal it? I do not want to be on my hands and knees. I'd need knee pads. Please save a life and let me know. Lol
Ha! lol. You can find the brush I used to clean the grout in the video description box of the actual cleaning grout video, and the brush from this video is just a regular old paint brush.
Marry me 😂
You need a real girlfriend!
I actually have a wife
Don’t buy the coppy cats they don’t work
What are the coppy cats?
My husband walked away from this video after he saw how long the nonsense was to get to the point
Ha! lol
He missing out.
You should teach your husband how to skip ahead.
