We would recommend you to do at least a slightest research before watching a movie to get best version out of it. For that you need to watch original version no matter what language .Here, this remake is great but its much greater if u had watched the original one. That's in Malayalam language with totally different set of cast.

Its because of the best casting and acting of the artists.
There are Mainly Two superstars in Malayalam Industry,Mammooty and Mohanlal ,known as Big M's.Mohanlal is a Natural Actor ,and one of the best actors in the world(iam not lying ,check Imdb ,He is ranked as 7th postion in Best actors in the world).Times magazine posted an Article about Mohanlal and they compared him to Marlan Brando.Thanmatra and Vaanapraatsam are the movies of him ,screened in Acting Institutes of UK in the studies of human emotions .You know Mohanlal,right?in Jailer he done a main role as Mathew (the Rich Gangster).
On the other Hand,Mammooty is a young superstar(just kidding ,he is 72 years old,but he looks as he in his 50's).He can do ever type of role in movies.His negative shade characters make him the one of the most antagonist ever.when you watch Films like Videyan ,you will hate the Character of Mammooty(villain role) for sure,Thats the power of his acting.
