I like this idea up to the point where you 1. Mount it up on the wall instead of on the floor and 2. Continue to use the hazardous aluminum corregated hose. Switch it out to a solid metal run and eliminate need for lint to fly upwards by putting the unit on the floor again.
Good points but the instructions were for the unit to be wall mounted.
I might have to get this. My dryer will be in the basement but right next to my back door that also has a security door. I could just leave the security door open when the dryer is running so the moisture goes outside! Thank you!!
That's a great idea!
Nice video 👍
Thanks!
THANK YOU !!
Welcome!
Thanks for sharing. How to clean it?
When the top flap raises change the filter.
Nivea video. I'm curious how you clean the dryer vent filter or is it tossed and replaced?
I throw the plugged filter away. Here's a link for replacement filters: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DD2DMXB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
@@Iscaper so you replace the filter every 5 loads?
@@judevivier153 No, just when the flap raises on the top of the vent. In my case it was probably around 4 months before I changed the filter.
@Iscaper oh OK, I was going by what it said on Amazon and that seemed expensive. Thank you for all your responses.
@@judevivier153 You're welcome. I just watch the flap on the top of the vent to tell me when I should replace the filter.
How is that during the summer months?
I have an outside dryer vent up high on the wall. I plan to install one of these over it. In the summer I'll remove it and vent to the outside.
It’s terrible. We had something similar and it allowed so much moisture in our garage to get trapped and it was making everything wet
good vid, where does the water go?
All that moisture goes in your house or garage and fucks it up. Vent outside people
What about mousture?
We ended up using a dehumidifier to deal with the moisture.
The funmas brand I purchased has a water cup beneath...?
What about the heat
Heat wasn't a problem but moisture was. We put a dehumidifier next to the washer/dryer to deal with the moisture.
@@IscaperSo the energy saved in heating is spent on dehumidfying
I'm doing it to get the heat in winter. In summer I can vent to outside.
Is this for gas or electric
Should work or either.
It can only be used for electric dryers, gas dryers produce carbon monoxide, which can kill you
Electric only. The instructions say that and also, a gas dryer need to vent out because of carbon monoxide.
@@Iscaperno, it can kill you with carbon monoxide gas
This sucks. You’ll fill that room of moisture, heat and smell. Not good.
I agree, but in my case there was no way to vent the dryer outside. I ended up getting a dehumidifier to deal with the moisture.
I'm in Colorado. Any extra moisture is welcome any time of year. As for smell, freshly laundered clothes smell good.
