OMG - You are right on time!! Yesterday one of my WP sites blew up! I did all the trouble shooting. Disabled plugins, edited .htaccess. . The site was using SSL on a sub domain during development. I did not want the client to see it down. I tried using backups from the server (I am also admin to the virtual box) well I did every trick in the book and nothing worked. So Lucky I had a copy of the site running on my local machine. - It took me 4 hours to bring that site back. Then you put this video up - Thank you!!! I just ran a test and moved a copy of the site and BAM! Within mins ....... OMG. I will be installing this on all my clients sites and store a offline back up ALWAYS from now on! Darrel You Rock!!!
Hi Darrel, awesome video as always but I have question, I have sites that are live still running and i want to replace the live sites with the new one that i have created from my local host to redesign the live site, my concern is the live site keep on getting order from customer daily (Im selling product online) and I've just finish my new web design at present which using the database that i export from the live site last week to make the changes, if i migrate using the all in one plugin, does it effect the number of customer orders and sales that i made at current time? If yes, do u have an idea how to solve this?
Thank you, Darrel. You are explaining tech terms in a simple way. You saved my day. I choose and promote you as my tech guy. Also, $70 is an affordable price for the unlimited features. If you are in business, you pay the price. Awesome tutorial and I'll look for your videos if I need more help. Keep it up!
Hi Darrel, great video. I'm about to try to move a Divi site on a sub domain to my live site and want to use this plugin. First thing is, I think the new site will be over the size limit and also I here there might be a problem with this plugin and Hostgator where my new site is. Can you throw any light on this for me please. Any help would be very much appreciated. Terry.
Great tutorial. I saw on another tutorial that the guy saved the permalinks with the post name button highlighted...but you did the custom structure button. What's the difference?
Wow. I’m amazed, I’ve used a different plugin for back ups and migration, I’ve had no end or problems! But with this plugin along with your tutorial I got it to work first time. tyvm.
This video help me is what the issue I want. It is the best and short, easy to understand video on Youtupe I has ever find. thanks for your help. Thanks alots
Hi Darrel, thanks so much for this, will this also work if you want to take a site you have done on your local server via MAMP and transfer it to a live server?
Hello Darrel, great info like always...wondering if I can use this plugin to migrate my site from one hosting to another hosting same company to a new domain? Please advise if you can :)
Just starting to watch but wanted to ask, I have a website with Fatcow and would love to back up my hole website in case I want to change my hosting here in the future. I have a WP theme Wazoom paid template and wanted to be able and copy my whole website with all the images and everything to hopefully be able to just drop it in to my new hosting if that is possible. My fatcow let's me copy the database but it is only 11 megabytes and I am sure my site with all the images are much heavier than that? Is that possible? to copy my current working site I am happy with to my computer in order to use it as a back up in the future if I change my hosting provider? Thank you. I saw you posted this on my birthday year ago and coming up again here soon!!! Thanks! PS. I am on Macintosh by the way and have an FTP (Transmit) client app if that would help somehow to copy everything.. In other words I would like to do a manual back up with having to pay for some paid plug in, Thank you very much!
Hello, Love this video! and I've learned quite a bit from a view of your others. Thanks!!!! I'm a bit confused about this process though. I'm trying to copy my live site to a testing site (subdomain). I guess I'm a bit unclear as to why when the import is complete on the new site, I have to login in with my old credentials on my new site. To me this seems like it would overwrite my live site and now this would be the new site. I'm confused. Any help you can provided would be appreciated! Thanks!!
Hi Darrel great videos as usual. I'm a huge fan thanks. It's because of your videos that I have started building websites. I have a question that's bothering me though. Do you know how to remove the Shipping tab from the check-out page? I'm using OceanWP and WooCommerce and even when I change the setting to "Disable shitting & all shipping costs" the Shipping tab still appears. Any idea what to do? Thanks
What if you use the same webhost and domain for both websites (ex: demo1.yoursite.com and demo2.yoursite.com), when you migrate demo1 website to demo2's location, you still need to create a new MySQL database for demo2 otherwise both websites will share the same database right?
Hey Darrel, Thanks for another great tutorial and usually I isten to what you say and take it as good advice, but on this occasion, when I went to look at the plugin there were over 200 poor reviews our of 3600. Most of these are talking about how the plugin didn't inform users of the size of the backup until they needed to re-install one and they got a message saying that an upgrade was required. The problem with buying the upgrade is that it's ** $99 ** which is a bit much for a plugin. While this might be great for migrating a small website, it's an expensive option for moving anything bigger than 512MB, which isn't that much when you've got a Database, a theme, a child theme, images, pages, posts etc. So my advice would be to try this for a site migration, where the images can be move separately if needed, but to use something like Updraft Plus for regular backups and backup scheduling.
ive used updraft from time to time, its a good plugin but sometimes i found that it didnt work depending on what kind of server i was trying to back it up on.
When you export from the original site and import to the new site - will it affect the permalinks or anything on the old site. I want to keep the old site the same but just want to use the template/plugins etc
Hi @Darrel_Wilson I have a question plz help! can I export my website to my laptop without losing any data.....because I have not enough space to create another website on the same host, but I also not want to lose my previous work. Waiting for your answer plz Thanks Umair Ali
Hi Darrel, I used aiw plugin to set up a “staging” site of my current live site on another server. I then ended up switching themes, adding content and various new plugins. Do you have a suggestion as to how I can move the new version of the staging site over to the live site without losing any of the information added to the live site during the time the staging site was being revamped?

1)hy sir if i would like to change some design is this effet on new webste also?? 2) And after that migrate the website so the login id pass that only or older admin pass used in new website??
I know I commented on this before BUT ...Darrel Wilson Thank you! Thank You! THANK YOU! :) I purchased this plug in, did an "experiment" (i.e., moved a site from one place to another) and SUCCESS!!! :) Followed EXACTLY as you did. hello, I did this process to new webiste. It's cloned but I didn't take backup of new webiste. Now I need "new website" back, how can I get it back? Please tell me as soon as possible. I need it immediately
Hey Darrel. Great review and demo. Does this work if I have site developed on a locally installed WordPress instance (localhost on my home computer) and then import it to live domain instance of WordPress? Thanks again for all of your great knowledge sharing!
I've been using updraft but sometimes it can't access the link to the back up file on the old website using the URL it gives you so you have to install updraft on the new domain and move the zip file with an ftp client to the backup folder with plugin/updraft and then paste the new URL in the restore option. This seems a whole lot better having it in your download folder
thanks Darrel for all of your videos, super helpful! would you please add a video explaining how to adjust the website images for Shop Isle Theme to not get distorted, please!!
It now says you can import up to 64 mb. You need to install the extension plugin then upload and activate it. So it becomes import up to 512mb as in video.

updraft isnt bad either, , but i dont think its as user friendly as this plugin. try them both and see what plugin works for ya
