I think the main draw for this is its not necessarily faster but it's easier, you dont have to push the spring at high tension for the last few rounds, no risk of pinching fingers or anything. So if you need to stack a whole bunch of mags at once for a range day this could be easier on the fingies
I’ve used one of these (but for 5.56) during a course and it can be not only easier to load a magazine but also faster, once you get the hang of it. You don’t have to place them one by one and move them all the way down the slot: just align the rounds at the opening and they will push each other, then pull all of them to the end and then you use the tool to force them into the mag. The instructors were able to load about four 30yd so magazines in a minute using this.
I see lots of comments making fun of how long this takes. It doesn't need to be a fast process. You can load up a bunch of magazines before battle so you only need to drop the mag and load another in after every 30 rounds. Also this is way better than loading each round individually by hand.

Помню в техникуме в середине 90-х нормативы по зарядке рожка АК сдавали. Иногда получалось за 26-28 секунд зарядить 30 патронов, правда из специальной подставки деревянной, куда они были воткнуты. Россыпью быстрее, чем за 36 секунд не получалось, но это тоже был очень хороший результат.

Actually, this is usefull if you are the guy managing the armory, and have 100 of those to make, it is quite useful. It is a lot faster than this video show.
If it takes this long to do one mag.. its gonna take that long to do 30 mags... if its quicker by hand its quicker by hand no matter how you look at it... if you had to open one pack of cigs and it took you 2 seconds.. odds are its gonna take you 5 times as long to 5 packs

By time you could find the board, boxes of ammo, and the mag, I would have a mag mostly if not fully loaded already. Good for loading before a range visit though, good to save your fingers in that case.
I have a handmade wooden speed loader I got at a gun show. It is adjustable to fit any rifle mag or caliber up to I think .338 lapua. I haven’t found a mag or caliber I can’t use for it. I love it.
I think everyone missed the entire point of the video, which is that this is going to be an awesome malfunction drill mag. Who knows what you're gonna get👍🏻 The tough thing about the ak when doing this is if that last cartridge is a "no go" it can be tough to realize you're out as you hear and feel click with no round fired, strip that round out and get another click because the bolt never locks back. Rack it. Click. Rack it. Click.😂 this would be a great exercise, especially under some stress

Если тебе надо снарядить кучу магазинов, то эта приблуда как раз не для лузеров, после пары десятков пальцам уже не ахти будет, а с таким заряжателем никаких проблем другое дело, что мало кому это по-настоящему пригодится, ведь и правда ручками быстрее, а так кто-нибудь насмотрится и будет лишний раз этой досточкой трясти
