I inherited a 54 Star Chief from my family in 1960 two time blue and my dad had the dark blue as on the roof painted under the chrome strip on the lower half… it was vey sharp and a sun visor as well. What a great car!!! Thanks for sharing.
Really nice car. My family had this exact model - exact same color interior but with a dark green exterior, same all steel Chief hood ornament. Stayed in my family from 1958 until '64. Thanks for not slamming the hood. Old cars are like old people, they should be treated gently.
Bill Dozer, I don't know about the 54 Star Chiefs, but the 53 Custom Catalina is a notch above my Catalina Deluxe Chieftain - it has even nicer shiny trim and leather seats. But it came only in pea soup green and ivory, not a color scheme I'd have picked the first twenty times. So I'd be inclined to guess that the Star Chief Custom outranks the Deluxe. That's my two cents' worth. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine.
If you don't get the straight 8 cylinder engine instead of the 6 cylinder engine how would a 1954 Pontiac be any different from a Chevy unless it comes with an upgraded automatic transmission like the Hydramatic (3 or 4 speed) vs. the Powerglide (2 speed)?

Thanks, I also noticed the hood ornament isn't the lit up orange lucite one like mine. Thought that was standard for these.

I just picked up one of these....what's the difference between deluxe and custom?
custom series has exclusive paint color choices, has special trim pieces, has full leather seats standard equipment.
