My nephew just made captain in December. He’d been a mate for a few years now.. he’s on a tug pushing a tanker barge . He sales from Texas to New England and back.. 3 weeks on 3 weeks off… working on being a harbor pilot..
I think this was suggested to me because I watch a lot of sim racing content. Now I want a tug boat simulator :) That was awesome to watch captain, smooth operator.

Must admit, if I was a young teen again looking at this I would be looking into how this could be possible for myself! This video will help give career ideas for younger generations that might not want to go into office work wanting a be practical and skilled career to be proud of. As an adult, I am enjoying watching these wonderful machines at work and respect to those working these powerful things which are beasts. Now I am curious on what steps you took to operate one of these tugs out of curiosity. CZcams recommended a gem right here.

This is fascinating to watch. Was the radio talk confirming the 6:45-7 at dock, and 7-8 on tether so everyone is on the same page for billable time for the tug services?
I think I should have been a tugboat tractor captain, too late now... It would be interesting to have text on screen explaining some of the radio calls.

It has more to do with the fact that realistic water physics are very hard and expensive to do, and ship simulators have a small audience.
