We have this leaves in my country in Borneo too..we used this leaves to wrap cook rice and whenever we go to work in the farm or go anywhere far from home, we bring cook rice wrapped in this leaves. Yes we cooked rice in big pot over wood fire like in Vietnam. That's why I like to watch your channel Robert ad we have similar culture especially in rural areas.

Hello Robert.... The opening scene was beautiful and peaceful and I am glad to see you again, but I do get anxious when I realised that you are going to sell that special leaves again. I do remember { in one video } how the women customers were checking the leaves when you had already tied them in bundles...and it was happening again !! But at least they tied it up and bought them. Whew !! It was nice seeing you, your mom and Mao again. Your mom showed great strength when she was tying the dumplings, making sure the rice do not come out whilst being boiled....😄. Anway it was a great success for a mother and son "venture" and it ended looking delicious. Take care and keep warm. n ✝ .

This brings back memories of my childhood in Southern China , when my mom used to make these cakes . We were so poor that I could only eat one at a time for the day. I remember the ones made with sticky rice and a sweet reddish colour stick in the middle of the cake.
