    Enjoy your videos thank's. No mud holes or deep water holes in the trails great 👍.

      Thanks for watching! The trails are typically dry except during the rainy season. Sometimes you will come across water holes but typically easy to get around and usually not too deep.

    We ride the same trails every March & October. But our group camps at Lake delancy west in the Ocala forest. We have a good time. 2nd week of March & October. bring your generator for power & water. there are vaults for bath rooms . Most of us stay for 10 days. A few of the younger couples just come for the weekend.

    Have you been to the KOA recently?Wondering if they got their new trail head, heard they were getting it soon. Unfortunate that they/we lost access to cross the road down the street. Heard rumor there was an accident. We were there for new years and they were trailering folks across the street from campground to trailhead, little inconvenience but wasnt too big of a deal. We are headed back for spring break in mid march. Keep the vidoes coming, and see you out there sometime, we are in the camo commander 1000, black arc-cat h1 and blue yam grizzly 90. Always looking for like minded familes to ride with!!
    Take care!

      Thanks for watching! The new trailhead is not done yet but supposed to be soon.
      Hopefully we can get together and do some riding!

    Let me preface my comment with this important advice. "Never, ever let your children lead the way on any Ocala OHV trail. The Ocala National Forest OHV trail system is dangerous by design. As an example the Centennial trail on the south side of forest is 40 miles of mostly sharp apex blind corners many with burms that make people ride the trail like a racetrack. The problem is the trail system (like all Ocala OHV trails) runs BOTH DIRECTIONS which makes it inevitable that OHV operators will encounter head on traffic. If it happens in a corner as it commonly does the result is a head on collision in the middle of nowhere and in most cases without cell phone coverage to call 911 or emergency services. This will eventually cause someone to get killed. To make this worse most operators far exceed the speed limit of 20mph so even if you travel at the speed limit it is VERY possible that you will run head on into someone who is going much faster. I am an experienced rider and I can tell you from experience if this happens there is no time to stop. Plainly put the trail system is not safe to ride and needs to be redesigned or modified before someone dies. Heres the math: each vehicle @ 20mph> 20+20=40 mph impact or much worse if either vehicle is going faster and most people ride much faster than 20mph.

    My Fam and i are going to KOA this weekend and plan on going to salt springs VIA the Teryx4. Will the KOA have a trail map to get there? and approx how long of a ride is it? Many thanks! and stay safe all.

    • @possumjenkins007
      @possumjenkins007  Před 3 lety

      It’s about a 1 hour drive through the woods on the trails. The trail ends across the street from the Springs so you will have to walk a little ways to the Salt Springs entrance or risk a ticket. They should have maps at the KOA or definitely at the trailhead kiosks.

    I have 2 mini sxs buggys I got way back in 2005 from Craigslist. No title can I still ride there?
    Also how do I get to that spot from hwy 40 and l75. Is there a good address I can use?

    • @possumjenkins007

      You will get a ticket if you get stopped without an OHV sticker to prove ownership. The Rodman Campground is located at 108 Rodman Dam Rd Palatka FL 32177 the trailhead is just down the road from there. Happy Wheelin!

      Yeah I just noticed that the trailhead is not connected to the campground. Would be nice to have a place to plug toyhauler in and still have trailhead access without having to "trailer" over to the OHV trailhead corral area. Rodman campground looks nice! I have offroad stickers for all machines so I am good there.
