    How you don't have hundreds of thousands os subscribers I'll never understand. Thank you so much for these videos. One thing to note at 43:06 is that I actually saw this screen, a couple of times. It was on a PC12, doing an RNAV approach in the middle of storm Idalia in Florida. This was on xbox. So just keep in mind, if the weather conditions are bad enough, you will see this.

      @gama1123, good to know. I actually encountered this myself recently - but without any weather. Not sure If working title has programed in GNSS network outages, or if it something else that is triggering it.
      Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for watching!

      @Rookblunder - Glad the content was helpful for you. I like using the C182RG as a primary instrument platform, and it's what I use to fly many of the approaches on this channel to make sure they are accurate/flyable before I film on the 172.

    So is it possible to have the working title units and not have downloaded the freeware, with the current sim update? I have the standard edition. At least in the Pilatus, and maybe the robins, I get the boot up screens and SAT acquisition etc.
    I’ll echo what has been said already; the effort you put into this is amazing, and very much appreciated! Obviously it doesn’t replace formal training for flying IRL, but being more facile in the sim is such a headstart.

    • @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation
      @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation  Před 7 měsíci

      @zachlogan1054, some third party aircraft don't have the working title units installed as default - so it's a good idea to have the (free) Working Title 530/430 mod installed via the marketplace. I think most developers use the working title units now - but there may be a few that do not, and the free mod will upgrade them.
      Thanks for the kind words. Glad you are enjoying the content, and finding it helpful. Thanks for watching!

    Great tutorial! I'm just getting started with the WT GNS 530W in the WB-SIM 172. The manual tells me the NAV page group has five pages: Default, Map, TAWS, NAV/COM, and Satellite Status. But I'm missing the NAV/COM page and instead I have a TRAFFIC page. Just like you! I've posted a query about it on the Discord servers for GNS 530 and for the WB-SIM, but no replies so far. Any idea why our setup is different from the vanilla version in the manual?

    • @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation
      @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation  Před 5 měsíci

      @geoffkent, glad you enjoyed the content, and thanks for watching.
      Not sure why WT would have chosen to omit the NAV/COM page, as they are usually about replicating the operation of the real world unit as closely as possible. Best guess would be that the NAV/COM page has redudent functions that are duplicated elsewhere, and they wanted to include the TRAFFIC page for MSFS - but that's purely a guess on my part.

    Hi. Thank you for you video. Is there any way to have the working title gns 530/430 in the dc3 duckwors mode instead the Asobo one?

  • @RoughLandings77
    @RoughLandings77 Před 9 měsíci +1

    I have seen the INTEG warning show up when I change time of day mid-flight. It appears to me that possibly the simulated GPS satellites move so a sudden time shift will cause the receiver to lose them. It only takes a few moments to reestablish connection.

    • @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation
      @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation  Před 7 měsíci

      That sounds like a plausible explanation @RoughLandings77. It's pretty impressive that they've simulated even the satellite network in such detail!

    Is it possible to create a custom waypoint? I have an A2A Comanche250 for MSFS with GNS530, but I can't create a custom waypoint in GNS530. Thanks.

    • @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation
      @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation  Před 5 měsíci +1

      @user-jd4yy1on6y, unfortunately while the custom waypoint page is there, the function does not seem to be working at this time. I've tried a few times, and it just doesn't seem to work correctly right now.

    • @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation
      @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation  Před rokem

      @frysimulation - I'm not really familiar with the A2A 250, but reading over their documentation it does look like the WT GNS 530 is available as an option on the aircraft.

  • @Bigg_Driver

    Could you do a video explaining how this interacts with the auto pilot and how to properly use the auto pilot. It seems very glitchy to me and I am trying to figure it out. Using classic 172. When wanting to change altitude and or heading Im having to turn the auto pilot on and off etc to get it to respond and also the altitude hold and climb rates are causing me issues. I increase my altitude on the dial and the plane does not respond to the changes. Thanks much

    • @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation
      @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation  Před 7 měsíci

      @Hal_Bundy I did a video specifically on the 172 classic autopilot that is available here: czcams.com/video/oGr-LrNQ0GU/video.htmlsi=RGmaWnC9AXmT1Zdn
      Just be aware that the only thing from the GPS you can couple to that autopilot is the lateral nav mode in most phases of flight. You can also couple it to the vertical guidance on an LPV or +V type RNAV GPS approach. Make sure the number one nav display is displaying GPS data and not VLOC data to couple.

  • @Moonfaster

    Maybe a stupid question, but do the simulator base the satelite data on real life satelites? Does it have live data of where satlites are positioned currently, similar to live traffic and weather?

  • @chrisloach9658

    Is there a way to make a custom waypoint on a radial from a navaid? Like if you have a D270Q e.t.c. on a chart.
    E.g. on the Boeing IIRC you have to enter something like ABC270/17 to make a waypoint on the 270 radial of VOR ABC at 17 DME.

    • @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation
      @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation  Před 6 měsíci

      @chrisloach9658, that is a feature on the real world GNS 530/430, but it does not seem to be functional in the sim at this time. The page is there, but it doesn't seem to work correctly right now.

  • @Uploadvideoschannel
    @Uploadvideoschannel Před 7 měsíci

    how can i map the GNS430 controls to a button box?

    • @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation
      @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation  Před 4 měsíci

      @Uploadvideoschannel, I'm afraid I don't know much about hooking up specialized hardware to MSFS. You might try searching the MSFS forums to see if anyone else has tried something like that.

  • @chrisloach9658
    @chrisloach9658 Před 6 měsíci

    Can the G530 172 technically fly the RNAV (GPS) approach you selected? I didn't think it had any like VNAV path following capability?

    • @chrisloach9658
      @chrisloach9658 Před 6 měsíci

      Ahh I just found your video on the 530 RNV approach. So is it correct to say that with the 530 the autopilot can do a GPS approach but not a descent?

    • @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation
      @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation  Před 6 měsíci

      @chrisloach9658 - that is correct. It can generate a glidepath for an LPV or +V approach, but it will not generate a VNAV glidepath.
      The 530 does have a VNAV function - but it basically works as a countdown timer to tell you when to descend, it does not generate any sort of path to follow.

  • @frysimulation
    @frysimulation Před rokem +1

    I do not see why you have two GPS systems when they both are linked except for redundancy?

    • @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation
      @AlphaHotelFlightSimulation  Před rokem

      @frysimulation, I think it's just a way to have more data available to you at the same time (e.g. moving map on the 530 with different data fields on the 430 nav page 1.) Seems like an expensive way to do it in the real world - but it makes for a nice avionics stack in MSFS.

    • @gama1123
      @gama1123 Před rokem +1

      It is not just a GPS system, it also is the comms panel, so by having two you can have two comm frequencies and two nav frequencies at the same time.
