Barkley was more than just a powerforward. Malone might have had the longevity on him and is a more ideal powerforward but Barkley was just a much better player in his prime than Malone was. All advanced metrics point to Barkley as much better. Plus Malone had the greatest orquestor of offensive (maybe after Magic) in John Stokcton and a system designed for him to score. While Barkley he designed his scoring on his own and did not have to rely on a system with Stockton to score. Barkley had a way higher 2-point FG%, better rebounder, better passer, better floor defender, better shot blocker and better, better play-off performer and better in the clutch than Malone ever was. Barkley > Malone as a player despite the fact that Malone had a better and longer career.
