I always notice that when the plain meaning of 2nd Thessalonians 2 is confused, it is because there is a belief in a pre-trib rapture. A lot of biblical gymnastics are done in order to confuse what Paul is clearly saying. Christ is not returning until after the falling away and the Anti-Christ appearing in the temple in Jerusalem claiming to be God. Could not be more clear. That has to be confused in order to clear the way to set the stage for a pre-trib rapture.

I see this tribulation happening to Christians versus collectively. We "Christians" are the temple of the living God. I am one tried with many undeniable visions and spirits tempting to deceive and pull me away from God. His mercy is enduring, but his sovereignty is true. It's a hard truth that I am facing, because I am perishing, but awesome that repentance is available, if I cleave to his goodness and Holy Spirit. The righteousness is in Jesus and not in works. I rather die (or be killed as my daughter foretold from her dream) because I didn't choose to worship Satan. This message has really blessed me and made me more confident of the calling of God to sanctification. Thank you for sharing!

2 thes 2 is clear "our gathering together to him" won't happen until two things happen
    #1 falling away
#2 the man of sin is revealed
the context is the Day of Christ not the Day of the Lord, the day of Christ is the rapture, the Day of the lord is wrath...
Phil 1:6 seems to prove this
    Phil 1:
    6: being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
so in the above verse the day of Christ must be the rapture because that’s when his working in us is complete

I just have one question, why are they afraid of the rapture? You can't hop back over verse 2 and try to attach that to the rapture that is found in verse 1. If verse 2 were the rapture, they wouldn't be "troubled/shaken in mind". The rapture is pure bliss and comfort...not something that shaken’s your spirit and troubles you. No christian would be unsettling when thinking about the rapture. So let me ask you, if you say this day of Christ is the rapture, why were they shaken in mind and afraid of it being at hand?

    • @James-vz7rq

@@rickhuntling7338 that day of Christ in 2 thess 2 is the day of the Lord. Christ is the Lord. God’s wrath in the end times. 2 Thessalonians 2 by no means says the rapture happens after the antichrist is revealed. It says the day of the Lord ( God's wrath, in the end times won't come until the antichrist is revealed. Paul is asking the Thessalonians for the sake of the rapture not to worry about that day of the Lord. Just because paul uses the same word in different contexts doesn’t mean it’s always the same. Context shows what the word means. Not assumptions.
Post tribbers fail to explain why they were afraid of the rapture being at hand. They have to change what the text says and make their own interpretations and assumptions. You must be the most ignorant christian if you’re shaken in mind and troubled when you think that the rapture is at hand.
So, if this “day of Christ" was the rapture, their fear would have been that it was a PAST event, but their concern was that the tribulation ("day of Christ") was now present, "AT HAND" something that would take place over a period of time, NOT an immeasurable event that the rapture will be, for the RAPTURE will happen "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye", 1 Cor 15:52.

    Interesting scripture
In Thessalonians and you know what is restraining HIM so that HE may be revealed at the proper time.
The One who now holds HIM back will continue to do so until HE is taken out of the way
The He is not the Holy Spirit
The HIM and HE is the same person-
    the anti christ
The One who now restrains him is God- in Jesus
Daniel 9:24 Seventy sevens are decreed for your people and your holy city
to Restrain transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.
Who restrained transgression and put an end to sin- Jesus
The devil is thrown down to the earth to roam free and is no longer Restrained as it is said in Daniel 9:24
He is set free to do his mischief.
I believe this is the correct interpretation.

The "Falling Away" is actually a "Departure" as it is translated in the first half dozen English versions ---meaning a PHYSICAL DEPARTURE. The CONTEXT in Thessalonians is The Rapture. The Roman Catholics decided to translate apostasy "falling away" because the Protestants "fell away" from the true faith of the Roman Catholic Church. Shortly after the RC translation the King James version was written and those translators wrote "falling away" because the Roman Catholics had "departed" from the true faith. "Apostasy" in Acts is a "falling away from the faith" as is specifically stated. CONTEXT is key! When the Greek word for "apostasy" is in the verb form in the NT all but twice it is obviously a PHYSICAL DEPARTURE! Thus this verse becomes the most definitive verse in the Bible proclaiming the pre-tribulation Rapture. Please read, "The Falling Away" by Dr. Andrew Woods, pastor of Sugar Land Bible Church --- he has several CZcams presentations about this verse. Andy wrote 10 reasons why the apostasy is a PHYSICAL DEPARTURE; I have briefly mentioned 2 of the 10 reasons.

    • @robertbrown7470

Incorrect. Most translations are either "falling away" or "rebellion." You are translating it as a physical departure. That is incorrect. Even the translations that say "apostacy" in 2 Thes 2:3, the footnotes say "rebellion."

First of all God does not give Satan chances to be redeemed, Satan was a covering cherub at the throne of God. When he Satan fell there were no chances of any redemption for him or the other fallen angels. Hell was made for get the word FOR the devil and his angels before man fell Matt25:41.
It's a definet Choice, God gives everyone many chances to accept His Son Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross. You have a Free Will to Believe or Not. If a person continually rejects the Gospel of Christ then the heart begins to harden against God, therefore God will at some point give that person over to unbelief. God does not do this, if you think that it's Blasphemy! The person themselves want to be in unbelief because their heart is in rebellion against the Lord. In Genesis 6:3-5
It say God will not always strive with man, in other words after a certain point in your life when keep pushing the Lord away, He gives you exactly what you want, unbelief, because of your own pride and willful disobedience. Never the less the Lord still gave humanity 120yrs until He brought flood and swept them all away. In Psalm 103:9 He also says He will not always strive with man. Nor will He keep His anger forever. If you come in humble repentance to Lord He will not turn you away. It's a choice every person must make, you or I cannot make this for them. So get those awful ideas out if your mind, God gives everyone chances, we don't know when the Lord who knows the beginning from the end will give them over to their own prideful lusts. That's why we give out the Gospel all the time. There is NO excuse to reject a loving, merciful and gracious God who holds out His arms to welcome all who come to Him with a humble heart and asks forgiveness in Faith believing Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of
Kings. I hope that answers your question, God cares and loves us so much He gave His only begotten Son to be a sacrifice for you and to pay Your sin debt instead of you!!.

2 Thessalonians 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him. first part is literal coming. The second part, "our gathering" relates to the rapture.
2Thessalonians 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. (Yep. You missed the rapture, the day of Christ is at hand. You're in the time of "Jacob's trouble").
    2Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a "falling away" first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
The problem here is the "falling away". All the old Bibles from Tynedale to the 1599 Geneva use "departing". Only the Bishops bible for some strange reason used "falling away". Then again, the Bishops bible was not well received at the time.
So, the 70th week will not start except the rapture comes first. It will not be a secret as the world will be freaked out and in a panic. Someone will have to step up and take control. Do we see where this is going?
