The real 4500 was repainted, and put on static display in Tulsa, Ok, at the Route 66 Historical Village. It’s an absolutely beautiful locomotive. Every year they decorate it with Christmas lights. They are in the process of building a depot behind engine, and rolling stock.

just want to say that I love your green bridge/trestle , It's the best that I have ever seen and the design, shape and weathering of it are excellent and you deserve an award for such a thing of beauty . You did a fantastic job of incorporating in your layout , I also want to say that your backdrop also blends into your layout perfectly.

A "smoke bonnet" was used on some AT&SF 4-8-4 locomotive
Some of the engines assigned to California service, especially the Valley Division, had hinged "smoke bonnets" that were swung into action in tunnels, apparently to prevent the exhaust from damaging the tunnel roof. The smoke would therefore have been directed back towards the cab instead, so these thing must have been something of a mixed blessing.
No 3751 carried one of these when it was retired, and No 3759, displayed in Kingman, Arizona, still has one.

There was no 4-8-4S class locomotive. The catalog was simply referring to the 4-8-4 in its plural form, 4-8-4s. They probably should have put an apostrophe in there, but just wanted to point that out. Even though these are just repainted Santa Fe Northerns with Pere Marquette Berkshire tenders, they are still very nice looking models. I personally prefer the Atlantic Coast Line version, but they are all beautiful.

Once again Eric, great video showing us your love of the hobby. I would also like to commend your positive outlook as I recently watched another channel which reviewed Lionel's SD-40s and the whole video was the presenter whining and ragging about what he bought and how he should just go to HO. My first thought was go to HO and stop whining. Better yet, if he was disappointed, he could have presented his issues in a positive light instead of his whining. I know you have had reviews where you have pointed out issues with certain products but you have always left it to the viewer to decide on what to do. CZcams is fantastic to all those creaters who wish to share knowledge and educate or entertain others. Then there are those who want an outlet to just rag on things. They should be free to do their own thing, but I am not interested in watching negativity after a long day in the real world!! Thanks again Eric! By the way if you have not seen any of his videos, Mr. Muffin's trains in Atlanta, Indiana, has a fantastic layout open to the public. czcams.com/users/MrMuffinsTrainsfeatured

@@stevewilliams9255 painted to match the coaches they pulled. They supplemented the frisco hudsons, pacifics, and mountains that pulled the meteor and were also painted blue and white

Hey Eric, awesome review! I’ve got a question- what camera do you use for these videos, and what do you edit them with? Thanks a lot!

The Tender is correct in the production but it had a Oil tank where the coal bunker is.

The reviews and videos are great! Any chance your going to get the ACL version of this engine from the same catalog? I'm curious to see if they put the correct tender with it as well. Understandably, I can find anyone willing to open the box and send some pics before I commit to buy. I appreciate any information you can provide!

Excuse my language, but that train is f**king stunning.
Also, Eric how come you never run you trains a full speed?

8:35 correct me if I’m wrong, but there seems to be a goof with the firebox door. The thing protruding in the cab, is what an oil burning locomotive fire box “door” looks like (I don’t know the technological term), but this is a coal burner.
