Obviously not on the same quality level but the Artemis M30 also have a around barrel air tube. For me it looks better than a separate tube and much better than an air bottle.

Just awesome! I’ve watched this video a dozen times love everything about it huge Fx mdt fan. I know every question I have has been pondered by greater minds then me and everything is done for specific marketing reasons which is smart. I’m just day dreaming about how cool it would be if Fx made the rifle with the foot print to drop into any chassis in the mdt line up 😍
Now if they had released that as the launch image - excitement would have been through the roof…..

The cylinder over barrel is first put in production by SPA in china. It's sold in the uk for a while now under the Artemis, SMK, Remington name.
The one in Brazil is also sold by Artemis M30! And having a new chassis, it looks very beautiful.👊🏻

you have to loose quite a bit to wall thickness to cope with pressure, and it seem to install with 4 screws from below, so if half of that external volume is plenum i think that's about it.
Fill probe a giant leap backwards for mankind
Riffle look pro level and the safety and tuning is like old school kind a removing stock,actually the name pro will suit to impact specially M3 safety just next to the trigger which is very cool and the external tune process high capacity mag impact m3 is best riffle ever made in fx👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice job and nice gun but i was wondering if fx has any plans of making the king in a bullpup with the high capacity magazine like my impact and a lot of shots per fill like my impact looking to hunt with it using slugs but keep my impact for shooting pellets one just for hunting and one for plinking thanks always keep up with your videos almost bought the matt dubber special impact but decided to wait on something new with more power

Any specs on the rifle, is it still able to get 15 or more solid HP shots per fill with slugs without the 300cc bottle of the Panthera?

Like the rifle, hate vertical grips. I'm assuming this rifle is in line with the usual practise of being able to mount any AR grip to it though.
The mdt grip on the rifle is adjustable
They need to put on the market a barreled-action (+plenum magazine) compatible with M700 standard!

It was just the vibration of the tripod.
I would imagine this is a very easy platform to maintenance/maintain as far as O-rings. Doesn't look like it would have a lot of them which would be great. The fewer the less chance of leaks. Really interesting. Really do wish it did not have a "FILL PROBE" 😞 Foster fittings are so much better in every way. Even if you leave the fill probe in the gun like I do, they can still get lost. Still...looking forward to see more on this DRS.
Yes, this is a very simple gun with few moving parts, which I like!
I suppose you could thread the fill probe hole and then screw a foster fitting in there, just not sure i would want that.
Also i have no qualms with fill probes, actually 2 of my 3 rifles require that.

If I had to guess I'd say that the price will be as high as my expectations for the perfomance and overall excitement over this release. Probably out of what I can afford. Absolutely love the design though!
I would love to see some way for you guys to figure out some kind of quick change air tank designed into a magazine or something. Wouldn’t that be cool. Who needs a full-up vs click click swap out the air source on the gun like a mag change in a firearm.

I wish I could’ve bought something like this when I purchased my Fx impact. I can’t afford a second one because I’m on a fixed income now.
The fx impact is the best air rifle money can buy you sir are in good hands why do you think they haven’t came out with the M4 it’s because the m3 is perfect if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
To date I haven't really liked the look of FX rifles but if the DRS Classic is as good as it looks it's now at the top of my wants list. Slim, light and beautiful, it looks like an AA ProSport only it doesn't weigh four and a half kilos and it doesn't need forearms like Popeye to cock it. Yummy.

What does this mean for the Panthera?
I own a Panthera 700 .22 and it does everything the MDT-DRS does out of the box, at a much lower price point. The Panthera will shoot minute groups at 100 yards. The MDT-DRS is for that premium market who wants a chassis, probably around $3000-3500. That's is a big leap up. Don't get me wrong I adore a chassis. I own an MPA chassis for my RAW HM1000x and it shoots better groups with the chassis. These are rifles for different price markets. IMO

Just a suggestion FX, since the DRS Pro comes with the match grade trigger and slug power kit already installed, how about installing the carbon fiber air tube also ????🤔

I still prefer FX Impact. It's versatile, it's a bullpup, It's clearly identifiable as an airgun and it can be quickly customized for any purpose I need it for. This rifle doesn't have any of that and it's just one of hundreds of same boring air rifles ...
I am glad in my country, as we are not in any way flooded with weapons, a airgun will not have to identify as anything.
The Impact and DRS are nothing like each other. They are built for completely different purposes, so I don’t think there’s a point comparing them.
@@AirArmsHuntingSA There is PRS shooting in my country ( 2 clubs ) but it seem to just be for hunters playing / practicing, i very much doubt i as a none hunter would be welcome there.
Anywho while PRS centered the DRS pro would probably be fine on a bench too ( no benchrest shooting in any club here )
But i am also quite sure the DRS pro will be much too expensive, probably the most FX rifle so far relegating the panthers to entry level PRS rifle.
So my eyes are on the DRS Classic, which i hope in .177 and 6 - 700 mm barrel will not be silly expensive.

I was thinking for years why nobody has put the air tank over the barrel in a way to hide it .I just thought nobody wanted to do that,, but trust innovators FX to actually go ahead and make them ..I think it might actually stabilize the barrel as well good looks

When I saw the thumb for this and realised it's still an airgun, I thought they wanted to switch to a mag style reload system of combined slug mag + air for these slugs. This is an airgun LARPing as a firearm though - a bit silly if you ask me.

@@bobmcbob4399 because it’s not been done before, well not to this extent. who’s putting the air cylinder around the barrel, and the plenum in the shape of a magazine If you want a traditional PCP, there’s a million out there. this is different it’s not for you obviously but I’m sure the bolt action guys the custom chassis precision rifle competition guys will appreciate it and I’m sure this will not be there main focus everyone seems to think oh no where’s the m4 oh no what’s gonna happen to the panthera this is just another offering from fx another option in the line up.
@@recklessjunkie Chinese made a reservoir around barrel rifle 3-4 years ago, also many years since i contacted FX and asked why they did not do reservoir around barrel seeing as they had " huge " shrouds around barrel anyway.
when you say it's the best chassis in the world, are you including the Anschutz 2015 stock in this category too?, as one would include this, as they make air rifles too (for winter games, and target shooting in .177 calibre). you could also include Walther and Feinwerkbau as these also feature in the competitions, although in the more expensive category.
Gun looks amazing, it's about time FX fine tuned the trigger for a lighter pull.
They claim 60 light (22gr) slugs @ 960 fps at one fill in .22 cal , 45 in .25 cal and 72-73 fpe respectively

Well if it actually holds zero might be worth the 2500-3k it's probably going to cost.

What are some of the aftermarket performance items will we be seeing on this gun in the future as we have seen in the past with other FX air rifles...? OK for looks as well because I'm sure that there are many air gunners out there just chomping at the bit wanting to know how they can make this rifle their own with some aftermarket artistic flair, or is it still to early to ask these questions...?

I'm sure quality wise this is top notch. FX after all. My only issue with the design - and this is really personal preference and nothing else - is that I would avoid the "tactical military look" if I can. This gun is not for everyone. It will cause law enforcement to ask questions. Specially made for a certain environment - where its gonna excel, no doubt. And be careful when letting others play with this - a lot of people will yank the plenum mistaking it to be a magazine 😅

Just a basic panthera is nearly £2k.
This is likely well north of that.
Airguns getting ridiculously expensive to be honest.
Hopefully the precision of the manufacturer and choice of build materials is second to none.
I'm talking 2024 billet aluminium, titanium, chromoly steel etc.
I don't want to be seeing any cheap pot metal on one of these or any future fx airguns.
For the price it's what we should expect, not want.
This is gonna be $2700 minimum the acc elite on mdts website is 1600 alone how are they gonna make money if it’s 2000 I’ll be impressed…
@@The.Toaster Most of the FX airguns are made for the FAC market sadly, I doubt they will make a 'affordable' one, because they won't be able to compete with say BSA or most Air arms on being consistent and reliable. I agree too, most airguns are getting way to expensive, I saw an Air arms the other day that I have never heard of and looked awful was 2.2k.
Yea, I know this new FX won't be cheap, the MDT stocks alone are over £500, let alone making one that can only fit this FX, and with it basically being a Panthera already, it will probably cost £2.5k if not more.
