Believe it or not. In the world today, I would say the slot in your nice new chair is to hold your cell phone. Also, awesome cabin, yous make a great team. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and all of the interesting stories 👍
Those cabinets are coming along great Donnie! It's definitely been a strange year everywhere. I love those old axes you have. Very cool. Can't wait for you guys to get back up to the cabin.
Nice to see you both again and the counters and butcher block, Donnie is making are really nice. he finish Donnie was trying to think of is called ‘Food Grade”.
The infamous missing finger I think every old carpenter has that lol Donnie, you’re great would love to have half of your knowledge great guy to have a friend you and Joe seem like very good friends. Two of a kind. Thanks for the video.
Wooo Hoooo ! Very nice cabinet making and the butcher block!... WOW !! just frigin MINT !! Gotta LOVE that Maine Logging history... just fascinating Joe ! Please keep the content coming!... Double time. Much love and respect to ALL from ol' West Gahd-nahh Maine - the Maineiac
Great work Donnie. Can't wait to see the finish product. Also would like to see you guys tapping trees and making syrup. Thanks for another great video Joe.
You are Correct! We are trying to figure out the exact date of manufacture. it has to do with the font in the logo and the font of the "made in Canada". I am thinking they are 68 years old. The company started in the 1800's and kept merging with other companies over the years. The company is now Beaty Bros. and is shutting down its factory A.O. Smith in 2024 after 149 years of production. Love my Cast Iron collection also. Thought Joe and Donnie would enjoy the history and a gift from Canada.
Nice video Joe and Donnie ! When I was making cutting boards I used mineral Oil and then would finish up with a mineral oil beeswax mixture that I mixed up. To get a really nice smooth finish on it I would wet sand it up to 800-1000 grit sandpaper spray the wood with water and let set for a bit then sand. Tell Donnie Hi for me. You guys should be able to find that panel in Lowe’s have a good trip upta camp !
Donnie, I love to "putta" too. I also like cooking with my cast iron collection which is mostly "Griswold" manufactured. You have a great set up to "putta" so enjoy doing it at your own pace. Great update.....Thanks.
That’s like my favorite color men wax was gunstock and they change that too and I know the color of you’re talking about too. I work in a store that sells paint and it’s hard to match up to those old colors.
Yes shoot the video that be great anything you guys are doing is interesting to me !! Hi Donnie can’t wait for camp video ? How’s Brandon ? I miss him also
Those are gonna come out great. Still not sure why he didn't make that in 2 halves that could just be joined together once on site. He's a great wood worker and carpenter in general. I used to use that hanging ball trick so I could get my truck in a smaller garage and have room to get around front while still making sure the rear bumper cleared the garage door.
I would like you to come to Embden Maine to see a white pine tree at my mother in law’s house. I have seen some huge trees , and this is a very big one
@JoeHollandFishing we are thinking of coming down for an ice-cream this summer. If Donnie wants some I can pick some up for him. They sell it by the gallon. $77 Canadian, which works out to be about $5 American! Lol

Golden Oak stain might look good? The slot on the chair is for a phone…. Donnie could use it for a spatula 😆😌🙏🏼☮️🌅
I think he tried it and it was a little darker than hes looking for.
