just a suggestion if you take the Chipotle in adobo sauce and puree them to a fine paste it will marinate much better also increasing the marination time such as a full 24 hours will increase the flavors in the final result and that how we do it at Chipotle

This was fantastic. I put it together last night and cooked it for dinner tonight. My son said it's better than Chipotle! We don't like much salt so I halved the salt. Didn't crush the peppers and it was still plenty spicy for us. Thanks so much for the recipe!

I made this 2 days ago. It turned out sooo good. I must say it was spicy. I left a good amount adobo sauce when cooking maybe that's why. I marinated it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Good recipe. My husband loved it.

Oml I made this today! I just added 1/2 tsp of dry oregano & 1/2 a tsp of cumin. I put it on the grill for like 7-8 minutes on each side (medium-high heat, I like mine a bit chard) and it was AMAZING! Will definitely be making it again! Thanks for the great recipe :)

Chipotle uses chicken thighs. They don't dry out and are more tender. Chipotle also puts more salt on the chicken after placing it on the grill

I have never eaten anything from Chipotle in my life. I recently saw their commercial with the female chef talking about how everything is made fresh on a daily basis. I couldn't help but notice how good the chicken that she was cooking looked, so that's how I ended up here.

the real recipe:
2-3 tablespoons ancho chili powder 1 7oz can chipotle peppers in adobo
1 red onion 6 cloves garlic
2 tsp cumin 2 tsp oregano
1/4 cup veg oil salt and pepper
boneless chicken thighs!!!!!
DIRECTIONS:
strain the adobo sauce out of the peppers and throw away the peppers
throw everything but the chicken in a blender.....blend
take 5 lbs of chicken thighs and pierce them with a sharp knife or fork
throw the chicken into a ziplock bag and pour in the marinade
let marinade 24-48 hours in fridge
cook chicken
for best results use a charcoal grill
This is the healthy version I guess

Close, but I worked at chipotle and they actually add one table spoon of honey too.
And the sauce is probably good, since at the store they get it in a bag already. So it probably is this but blended and marinated for at least a day-using chicken thighs

Just made this two days ago but blended the adodo, garlic, etc. Tastes nothing like chipotle chicken, but it's flippin good. It is kind of spicy so if you dont like that remove some peppers from the adobo sauce. Let it marinate for atleast 4 hours.
