Gary Lineker scored a hat trick in a much anticipated "el Classico", in January of 1987, but the Spanish referee refused to give him the ball, contrary to the custom.
So, in October of the same year, '87, England played Spain, in Spain in Bernabeu.
No England player has scored on spanish soil since. Lineker scored four goals in 32 minutes, giving his side a 4-2 victory, and was dubbed by the Catalan press as
' the Executioner of Spain'.
Should have given him the ball, reff...!
3:04 funny how Benzema just scored a hat trick Vs Barcelona and became the first European since Lineker😂
Probably why they posted it
This was filmed before that game, benzema must have seen it and thought I'll have some of that.
Did Ronaldo really not bang one?
@@bhvillaman4401 Nah, scored 2 in one game a couple of times but never 3
@@bhvillaman4401 Ronaldo is Brazilian.
Many of the younger fans who regularly mouth off on CZcams clearly don't appreciate what an absolute goal merchant Lineker was in the 80s and early 90s. What a poacher!
I am old enough to remember him as a player, but still, when i look up his sheet, it's surprizing! He is England's top scorer in the World Cup, was top scorer of the whole thing in '86. Winner of three golden boots, with three different teams! scored a hat trick in "el Classico", scored 4 against Spain -in Spain-...
I don't know if there is another player that can compare to him!
You might want to edit golden "shoe!"
@@MrChristbait why, does it "offend" you? That's what we call it, english is not my 1st language. What should I change it to?
@@HIMCULES it doesn't offend me,I didn't know English wasn't your first language so I apologize! It's the golden boot. As I said,I never go online to offend. Your English is better than me trying to speak your language!
top poacher
Shearer "fist bumping" Big Meeks had me on the floor..😂😂😂😂
The crazy thing about Shearer was at Southampton in his three seasons as a starter he got 3 goals, 4 goals and 13 goals. And then all of a sudden everyone just knew he was going to be one of the best in the world. Signs for Blackburn for a British record fee and there were a couple of other teams that wanted him. United were one. Then he immediately becomes a world class striker. 16 in 21 games his first season because he got injured and 31, 34 and 31 in the other three years he played for Blackburn in spite of playing in a two man striker partnership. And Sutton wasn't a Bergkamp or a Sherringham he was also an out and out number 9 looking for goals. And then he broke the world record fee.
Shearers Hattrick against Arsenal on his full Southampton debut at age 16 takes some beating.
I was there for Lineker's 4 vs Malaysia in KL! 🇲🇾
Gary Lineker was a beast. Even in his last season in the Prem at Spurs he left scoring 28 goals in the league. Then he went to Japan for two years and made a bunch of money then retired. But the guy was right up there with the best strikers of the 80's and the 80's had some gems.
Lineker didn’t play in the prem.
@@callumboscoe8685 wow. Like 90s premier league was 1000 times tougher than 80s top flight football. Amazing how many sheeple toss the rooster to the just the mere words premier league.
@@JohnKobaRuddyor, maybe they were just being pedantic about OP's choice of words?
Both were excellent players.
I was at old Trafford when he played his last game for Spurs against United. When he scored against us, the whole crowd stood up and applauded him. It was a special moment of respect for a very fine player , club and country.
Sounded like Gary said something else when he said he's the bloke who *flogs" the crisps at 3:55 😂😂
I'm the guy who fucks the crisps 😂😂😂 well that's probably more accurate than we realise
That’ll chafe
These two would have been England's perfect partnership
As Malaysian Fan, i watch Lineker 4 goals in 1991 football match Malaysia vs England
These guys are so cool man!!😂 Having such a great time.
Love you guys- shearer and Lineker are from my era- absolute legends of the game- love the craic
I remember Gary very well. He was a very good football player!
And I remember you, you were a very good football player too
He was a bang average footballer even according to himself. He was an exceptional goal poacher though.
Great stuff 😁 cheers 👍
mr. lineker, you scored 2 hattricks against us (Turkey) :)
The thing that always pops into my mind about Linekar as a player was the total disbelief I felt when Graham Taylor subbed him off whilst a goal down to Sweden. Not a Great all rounder, but a superb finisher.
Yep, remember it well, as an 11 year old knowing better than the England manager. Subbed on Alan Smith "for a bit of height". No disrespect to Alan, but why oh why would you sub off Lineker of all players.
I just need to say that I think Micah Richards memory about the Van Persie volley against Charlton that was better than the one he scored in that hat trick, is actually a Shaun Bartlett volley scored, for Charlton, against Leicester Cìty which won goal of the season.
It's bizarre to think that there's some people who don't know what a great striker Lineker was !
Still can’t believe Tony Yeboah's hat-trick against Wimbledon didn’t make the list. Possibly the greatest Premiership goal ever, plus two more and didn’t even get a look in.
El Matador. Liners is a proper legend
Crazy how they’re laughing about Luxembourg yet that’s an example of the rank of team that Harry Kane has got most of his goals against
It's not his fault tho is it? Every player with many international goals is also playing teams of that ilk. It's not our fault we're better than 98% of the worlds teams
@@bhvillaman4401 people like to undermine other peoples achievements
Yet Rooney bagged loads against San Marino, and apparently, he was WC for England
Gary has a football career which cant be rubbed out
Gary is a gent. Somehow not pretencious talking about multiple hat tricks
Having children can have that effect, no longer being the center of the universe, not wanting to, either.
And yet when he talks about politics.................
@@guyjackson1261 His contribution to discussion about issues is excellent and should be welcomed.
@@eightiesmusic1984 Nah, he is a pretentious, smug, champagne socialist
@@eightiesmusic1984 How? woke celebrities spouting copy pasta woke soundbites are 10 a penny, you are easily impressed.
What was the reference to Stalybridge, does anyone know?
Only hat trick Micah Richards has ever scored was in a reserve game against Stalybridge.
Beardsley once got 6....against Aylesbury 😂
Benzema enter the Classico hat trick chat
Hasn't scored 4 against Spain in Bernabeu, though.
Gary was a proper proper striker the main man along with Rush at the time
Blackburn Rovers ,Newcastle United Alan S.
Luxembourg 😂😂😂😂
conqueror: penaldo
And Lineker’s still got his hair.
0:16
Gary was great but for me Alan will always be the king
Everton sold lineker and they used the money to build a roof over the Glwadys street end even then he was looking after the working class even if he didn't know it .... seriously though that's a fact
Lineker was one the best black players.
Still is.... King of Africa
@revamp777 Lay off the spliff mate. So not good for you.
Lineker is funky, no problem babes
😁😁
What do these lot do with the hatrick ball ⚽️ lol
Luxembourg won't like this shout out 🤣
They never bring up the time he crapped himself 🤭
Benzemaaaaaaaaaaaa
😂😂😂😂😂
Luxembourg
Benzema scored a hattrick the day before this came out 🤣🤣
Richards on the roids or what?
To make up for no hat-tricks
I think he’s just a genetic freak. He was always beefy even as a player
Robbie Fowler scored a second HATRICK AGAINST ARSENAL APPARENTLY ENGLANDS NO1 GOALKEEPER DAVID SEAMAN FIRST HALF ANFIELD ROAD END OUTSIDE THE BOX RIGHT FOOT 2ND HALF KOP END LEFT FOOT & HEADER. 1995 1996 I BELIEVE THIS WAS A BETTER HATRICK THAN 1994
🤣🤣🤣🤣WILL PEOPLE REMEMBER YOU AS A PLAYER 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was really good during lockdown but the 3 ego have spoiled it now. They talk about each other for about 10 minutes each.
LA CLASICA? El Clasico. I thought he spoke Spanish?
¿Cuando? A cual tiempo? Gary no dice "la clasica" en esta?
he was no golfer
Linekars probably the only english player appreciated outside of the country than in it.
Every other english player is overrated to a much higher level than what they actually were. Especially todays ones
Chalk and cheese players
I think they should add Ian Wright and this would be the most complete football show/thing
The way Linekar laughs at lower leagues, is just so English. Mor onic.
Lineker has scored a few own goals lately
That's what you think. In reality, he should be applauded for his courage to voice and stand by his opinion, even when it is not the popular opinion.
@@HIMCULES it's terrible what he has to go through imagine not being able to get a seat in front of his own telly for all the refugees he has living in his home
@@gerryryan Let's not pretend to be experts on the issue, my friend. Perhaps the answer is not to put them all up in his house.
@@gerryryan
He did actually take a refugee in.
