Love maps like this, especially in progressive. Complex maps with a simple pivotal location are always my favorite
For prog wd I find open maps to be the most consistent. Choked up maps are exciting though
13:45 Assuming a standard set of Risk cards (14 of each plus 2 wildcards for a total of 44) the benefit is:
Keeping 2 of the same card gives you a 33.33% chance of setting on 3 and a 78.86% chance to have a set on 4.
Keeping 2 different cards gives you a 38.10% (4.77% better) chance of setting on 3 and a 80.37% (1.51% better) chance to have a set on 4
The benefit would shrink if the card pool was made bigger and grow if the card pool was made smaller, though I don't know if or by how much RISK:GD actually does so for different maps.

I realized you could have possibly card blocked pink after getting the Red kill.
22:14 forward. in 22:22 you could have split your stacks and possibly prevented them from getting a card and getting a lot more troops. but still a very nice game.

The admin should be an absurd high bonus like 30 or something because how impossible to hold it is.
What I think the devs were going for with this was a bunch of snafu maps that get you a bonus when you take them and then a big fight in the middle. The round played out pretty much like that anyway. Pick your bonus take it and use it to beat everyone else. But you can't just take a bonus because of the many splits needed, it takes several turns which makes it like conquering a small map to then reach into a bigger map.
I bet this is an actual prison somewhere

Anyways remember to play the new meta on other maps as well even though they’re in s tire they can still be good

You really have to enjoy the placing of troops and the strategies behind that part of the game to like 1v1 on this map. Seems very unforgiving.
One v ones are generally very unforgiving when you make mistakes but at the same time once you understand the pick order on this map most of those decisions become very prescribed
I like this map. It’s also a crazy fog caps map.
How do you personally feel about manual placement risk? What settings does it go well with, are there any settings you don't recommend it with?
Manual puts a lot of luck in the turn order. Advantaging those who go first

Odds of a set on three are around 1/3 likely depending on the map
Really appreciate the Map Mondays. It kills me though to see you bumping map ratings up or down the tiers to visually balance them though.
Consider the only official tier to be the final one then the concept won't bug you as much. We don't know how they all work relative to eachother until the end of the project.
This map could be really fun with zombies
i was super anxious when you killed red since you didn't guarantee the kill in the way you pathed it. you had 2 7s to kill a 3 each, but you didn't leave any more troops for the 3 singles in the middle. in the worst case scenario you could've lost 4 troops on each 7v3, making it impossible to take 3 more territories. luckily you didn't have those bad dice
The odds of both 7-3s losing enough troops to then fail that last bit is very low
Have you ever heard of Axis and Allies? Its a bit like risk but its very much a different game. Theres an online version Steam so maybe you could play it 😅

is there really a point to blizzards in the 1v1? there is pretty much no single territory that can have a blizzard to choke the map up more than it already is. the blizzard in the middle is the most interesting one you could possibly hope for
It makes the rooms have less territories required to hold them. Playing off of that makes the games more unique and you have a higher chance to outplay someone
Just thinking off hand but it might have something to do with changing the number of territories. Either between even/odd or to reduce the total number
@@TheKillPeteStrategy yes, i was thinking about even/odd territories as well, but in this case the first player got to choose his territories first AND got to place his troops after the second player already did which seems like doubly advantaging the first player

7:12 green didn't split 9:3 his troops just through all his 11 in the pocket, then during fortify splits 9-3, again if he had just split 9:3 (minimum 3 you have to send in) then he could have 9v4ed and taken his bonus. 27:03 better than Alcatraz for sure. But with the lack of like back-door connections? I mean I'd probably rate it below forsaken lands maybe, I just don't think I care for it the way you do. Having not played a single one of these maps.

I feel like this map would be PRIME for 3-4s matches but I played this 3 times with 6 (no bots) and they all came down to who su'd first

Hahahaha. This game is so freaking dumb. Just had a win completely stolen from me. Fixed card bonuses. Earth 2212 map or whatever. Only one human player left. He has 4/5 caps but they’re all next to each other in SA and Oceania and cap locked and he has no bonuses. I clean out all his exteriors and am holding both NA bonuses, both European bonuses, Russia, Middle East, and east Asia and he has no way of breaking me. The only risk I took was using a decent amount of troops to clean up his territories and “only” had 24 on my cap. He has access to my cap but has to go through a bot first, but it’s his only chance to win. Dude gets to my cap with 9 troops left and proceeds to manual roll my 24 troop capital to victory. Fck this game so much.
You should have read more Terry Pratchett. Then you would know that 1-in-a-million chances occur about 9 times in 10. 🙂
