Its likely a combo of physical health issues along with his hearing deteriorating. He just has a lot of health issues holding him back from being as great as he was in his younger years. Not everyone can age nicely unfortunately, but I'm glad he stuck it out and did these last runs. Even here, just a few years ago, he sounds better than the guy he had come up to sing the song with him. That dude missed a few of those high harmonies.

I love this (almost) original version of Daryl's solo...he's been playing amore modern variation over the last couple decades. It seems he fell off his own train halfway through and struggled to catch up, though...his facial expressions seemed to revel this as well. Still the greatest guitar solo ever composed.
