I never played Civ but I imagine if you play it long enough you are going to have a start or 10 go tits up, even if you're good at it.
@@KayDizzelVids you are right and reason is simple on deity ai has so much advantage so early that if they decide to kill u nothing will save u :D u will completely lose game or get so behind that its impossible to fully recover

I don't have to be on deity to play bloopers like that.
My Deity games are never close.
I either get rolled early or I roll the AI onto a snowball domination victory as per usual for my games.
However I play Standard/Standard and it seems these videos are on a Small Map which just makes Warmongering much easier IMO.
This is the only real problem i have with high-level civ games. It's really frustrating to have just a bad start and you're screwed
It is not about winning every game. But it is about being able to overcome all the buffs that everyone else has.

Scouts: hola senior, you dont want to go that way, we just scouted it and the Germans definetly have a big high tech army. Super scary, it would be best if you turn around. You dont want to meet the Germany forces that definetly exist and are defending the region.

I needed this, Potato. I was soooo frustrated bc I couldn't achieve victory on deity but seeing you restart this often makes me believe in myself somehow. I thought I was doomed.
This is exactly why I don't give open boarders to the AI until I have all the cities I want settled. If they want to journey through my whole country to place a minus 20 city on the other side of the map I'm fine with that, but not as long as I have unfinished settling-business! :D

I started watching your videos to try and improve my game (stepping up from Emperor to Immortal is being tough) and seeing that sometimes unlucky start can screw you over even when you are actually a good player is heartening. I am sure that more often than not my rerolls are my fault and my fault only, but at least I know that sometimes you get dealt a bad hand and there's little enough to do about it.

i think the cree was going for camp, not to war with you
because last time i tried to block the ai pathfinding this way, they just declared war on me and killed my units.
that strategy worked 100% in civ5 but in civ 6 i'm not sure

Germany and Russia, later Korea, are the original 2 S-tier civilizations before R&F. I knew my first Deity game would be with either Germany or Russia. Germany excels at science and domination, while Russia for culture and religion. Germany was the go-to choice for survivability on deity. Even if you cannot take over a city state or two early, the extra military policy card slot is as valuable as Greece's bonus early game in Oligarchy. The extra district and the Hansa-commercial hub district bonus is just insane. On R&F and later, it can be argued that Germany is the best civilization period with the nerfed industrial zones, making Germany's bonuses even more powerful for space. In the final game with all expansions for science, Germany and Korea just rule. I won deity on my first try with Germany easier than I thought.
It's nice seeing that someone else has issues that I feel like I have all too often!

1. Pick Germany
2. Restart 1000000
3. Take another civilization
4. PROFIT!

This episode really hits my big gripe with the era score system. It forces you to delay things just to preserve score for the next era. It's stupid that I have to think "Well, I could do this now, but if I wait 7 turns I'll get more of these arbitrary points that somehow mean my empire is progressing, and if I just do it now, even though it's the same action, it basically doesn't count." It's infuriating to me that overflow points, especially past a golden age but also in the gap between normal and golden, mean nothing. If overflow points counted to the next era, I'd have no issue, but as it is it forces otherwise sub-optimal play and I hate it. Imagine if great people points only counted for the great person currently in the queue and disappeared when they were recruited by someone else. That's basically the era score system.
No Japan.....we won't talk about it.

I bought Civ6, played 1 hour and had a pause to eat. During the break i stumbled accros your video. Long story short, i never played the game again till this moment, because this is equaly enjoyable. I also swithced from relationships to pornsites for the same reason.

lol, I've been chainwatching his videos and he yelled at me at the start of the video. Told me to click the d@mn subscribe button. So I did.
Well in my first game with Germany, I went for Ruhr and the space race victory. But Germany has a back door culture victory, surprise. Remember German Hanse get their bonuses from resources and commercial hubs, which means your cities maintain appeal. On top of that there are 2 great engineers with tile appeal bonuses. You can build several national parks with Germany late game and crank out Eiffel tower, Redentor, etcl. There is nothing stupid about doubling up on culture with plantations or open sky. Germany can build theater squares as easily as Greece. In fact, I give Germany an 8 for tourism victory.
Those first 5 mins feel more like the games I get on diety xD trying emperor difficulty now
