This is so sad.....made me cry. Locals from Hawaii should never have to leave especially when I know we all don't want to.

This is soo sad. Local Hawaii people cannot afford to live in their own home because of investors and outsiders taking all the housing and the corrupt government pushing locals out. It’s awesome that these people were able to build a community in another place while perpetuating the beautiful culture that is aloha 🤙🏽

@@isartoraplatzyou took the word or Aloha too literal! Have you been to Hawaii before?! Aloha spirit is a lifestyle, a gesture, a smile and being thoughtful and a whole lot of great things love have to offer. Nothing about betrayal of God above!

I make under half of what I did back home. And you know what that makes for me here in Vegas? I have a savings account, I can visit my daughter more regularly now. Sure I work more than in Hawai'i for less than half of what I made in Hawai'i, but the fact that there is a potential for a future where I can earn MORE and work less is unmatched. Do I miss my family, friends, food, and the climate? Of course. But being stuck in a never ending cycle of trying to afford rent and then realizing you can't afford to leave your parents' place because rent has doubled since you got your new job which means you can't afford to take over paying the expenses for your parents' house to allow them to retire? There's no economic future for locals in Hawai'i. If this keeps up, we will only look back at our hanabadda days and realize that the keiki growing up in the towns we knew will know nothing of that joy we had all those years ago. It'll just be one giant tourist resort for an idealized version of Hawai'i that only mainlanders THINK existed.

Aloha Spirit is so unique. I still have it even though I moved here back in 1995 from Oahu. A lot of my clients actually come from Hawaii, and they all have the same reason which is the affordability of housing and just the lifestyle in general.

You can't have enough ALOHA spirit in Las Vegas! It brings the good in all people and reminds us to be kind to one another!
