If it looks good, if it feels good, if it sounds good.,. IT IS GOOD! Regardless of what the headstock says. Great video bro, keep it up
I fully agree with that mate! Thanks so much for checking it out, I’m stoked you enjoyed it 🤘
It sounds good if your into that butt chugging Chunky Toan 😅
True but I like Fender and Gib. Why be like everyone in “metal” and hardcore and play non-Gib, non-Fender…. Be the opposite and rebel and play you a Fender or Gib. Now that’s fucking punk. Something that lacks in you metalheads and hardcore kids whom never grew up. I thought your music and people associated with the scene were supposed to be individuals and original. Why play the same style and brand of instruments and guitars and dress the same and only listen to your metal/ extreme metal and hardcore shit. All I see are you musicians” play the same shit and same instruments and guitars and and shit
Ive got 4 HB's...three guitars, and a bass.
They are amazingly good guitars.
Not just "for the money"...but just good guitars full stop.
Yeah dude you’re totally right! Definitely a worthwhile pick any day! Cheers mate 🤘
I own a $2000 Gibson SG3 that I love. On a whim I purchased a $195 HB DC600 Vintage Series SG3 and I was blown away. After a little adjustment I must say it plays as well as any $ guitar I own if not better than some. You are not crazy, we are truly in a golden age of guitar. New guitarists today are very lucky.
Thank you dude! We really are, right? When I started playing, I think my first Strat copy and amp were about £300 together and they were garbage. Now you can get something of this level for just a bit more? New players could easily be set for life if they wanted. Appreciate you checking out the video man 🤘
My HB SC-custom II plays easily as well as the LTD EC-401 it's based on. It doesn't matter as to what's on the headstock!
Man, they just need to brand this as a Charvel and it would easily sell for three times as much.
I mean, you’re not wrong! It’s not a million miles away. If they did something to make the neck profile a little slimmer then it would be really hard to tell the difference! Cheers for checking out the video mate 🤘
@@matthewearl9824 Now that you've finished justifying your egregious purchase to a complete stranger when you could have gotten an alternative that's nearly as good for a literal fraction of the price, let's come back down to Earth shall we?
@@razztastic Well but let be honest ! With estabilished brands you have a good quality all the time were with Harley benton you can receive a guitar with saddles fallen off off the guitar Loollll Like with many cases off the lower end HB ones !!!! Even with ibanez gio guitars that type off QC issues never happens !!
@@matthewearl9824I have one of the Charvels, it’s my favorite guitar out of all of my guitars. I want to try one of these out and see the difference.
I got my charvel desolation used for around $350 US and it is one of my favorite guitars
As a fusion tele owner who owns 9 other great guitars....lemme just say this series is the best by HB and punches miles above its weight.
I know right! Incredibly good guitars. And it sounds like quite a collection you’ve got! Thanks for checking out the video dude 🤘
I've got the Super Strat version of this.
I can't quite describe how good this guitar is. The specs are phenomenal and the playability is off the chain. I've got a DK24 and I'm genuinely not sure which I prefer.
Yeah dude! They’re so sick. It really is much closer to higher end guitars than you’d ever expect 🤘
We live in the golden age of cheap affordable guitars, which are good quality. I have had my eye on the Harley Benton fusion 3 fr and the Harley Benton ex84
We absolutely do mate and I’m totally here for it! I’ve had 3 HBs including this one and they’ve all been fantastic. This one especially 🤘
Awesome stuff, great playing and I love this guitar! Especially the reverse headstock.
Thanks dude, I appreciate it! It’s killer, right? Fully agree too, the reverse headstock is awesome 🤘
Really good review and that intro jam and solo was awesome. I should really start paying attention to HB guitars, I'm in the process of replacing my cheaper guitars with better ones but maybe better doesn't mean more expensive..
Thanks so much mate! They’re definitely worth having a look into, especially if you’re looking at a few replacements. Definitely doesn’t have to be more expensive! Cheers again man 🤘
OH YEAH!!!! That guitar Is siiiiick! I’m actually thinking about getting one myself, i love the tele shape and can’t wait to try this modern take!
As always your videos are so entertaining and well done, they have everything a guitar player is looking for 💪🏻💪🏻
Keep inspiring
Julian from Italy 💚
It’s so cool man! Definitely give one a go if you can, I’m sure you’ll love it! That’s too kind of you Julian, I appreciate you mate 🤘
I have strat shape one, I did some minor setup, pickup height wasn’t right for me, needed to be closer to strings imo, added some foam, since pickups are are screwed into body, everything else is super solid, frets feel great
Just got a Fusion 3 (silver sparkle) and I'm blown away with it.
The feel, fit, finish and looks makes it seem like a £1500 guitar.
Congratulations on the new guitar mate! That particular one is so good, I’m stoked you’re impressed with it too. Enjoy it dude 🤘
I have the S version of the Fusion 3, and it's the greatest guitar for the money that I've ever owned. Killer neck, plays like a dream, stays in tune like a champ, and sounds killer. Will never get rid of it! My buddies who played it were stunned at how good it plays and is, and they have many custom shop, vintage, high end guitars. I also have some guitars worth 2 or 3 times the F3, and since I got it, I play it the most. That was 6 months ago...
That’s awesome man, it’s so good to hear other people having the same great experience I’ve had with mine. Totally agree with you, it blows other guitars I’ve played out of the water that were 3 times the price. Such a great guitar. Thanks for checking out the video mate 🤘

Sorry if this is 10 months too late, but out of interest as someone who wants to pick up guitar, which guitar was this? Have you got a link? :)
Harley Benton is in it´s own class, Guitarist´s must now admit that Harley Benton deliver´s I got 24 HB guitar´s and 5 Bass´s. I have had one issue, but Thomann helped out and corrected it, I am a HB fan for sure, Nice review man, and awsome playing, Love cheers ya´😃💚🙏👍
I 100% agree with you dude. It’s a shame that so many people let the name on the headstock scare them away from such sick guitars. Thank you man for checking it and out the kind words 🤘
Excellent revue, Jack - and storming opening jam.
Thanks so much dude! Means a lot that you enjoyed it. Cheers for watching 🤘
I have a few HB's and I love them all, the quality is amazing and the playability is terrific. Good video buddy. 👍❤️
I 100% agree with you mate! Thanks man, I’m really happy you enjoyed it 🤘
Nice intro. Thanks for the review!
Thanks so much dude, I’m really glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you watching 🤘
I have one in the Strat style. Had it setup by a local luthier who’s very, very good. He loved it. With the frets polished it’s great. My daily driver guitar.
They're fantastic guitars dude, I'm really happy to hear you're stoked with yours! Have a good one bro and thanks for watching 🤘
Awesome man.. killer TELE...def worth taking a look at 🤘your tone and playing are sounding amazing
Thank you brother! You did say you were looking for one, it might be worth a little peak 🤘 That’s kind of you man. I wasn’t super stoked on that solo so I’m glad you like it 🙏
Im so glad a company like HB exists!
Me too mate! Thanks for checking out the video 🤘
Creeping right up on 2k brother 😊...😁🤘
We’re on the way my dude! Couldn’t do it without you and the other awesome folks here 👊
Jack, awesome intro my man.
Thank you man! I’m really stoked you enjoyed it and cheer for checking out the video 🤘
Bro. I've had my eye on this Fusion T for a minute now, but you have talked me into it. I still have my White Jim Root Tele and it also came with some issues. Poor fret ends. But I still absolutley love it! So to get a good, affordable one in black with better specs? Sign me up! Keep up the good work brother!
Thank you so much my dude! There's something about those Jim Root Teles that is awesome despite any imperfections but yeah, this thing is ridiculous for the money. I think you'll love it! Thanks again man, I appreciate it 🤘
Nice video man, thoroughly enjoyed it 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Thanks so much dude, that means a lot! 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars thank you. I believe you just convinced me to buy one and try it. 🤘🤘
If only I was working on commission dude 😂 But seriously, if you do grab one I hope you enjoy it 🤘
Thanks for this cool video Jack! Love the trailer park boys quote :)
It’s my pleasure, thank you for making such a great guitar! I’m really glad you enjoyed it 🤘
Thanks for your comment on Josh Middleton workshop. Btw - I reviewed Harley Benton yesterday, unfortunately in Polish. For the price... just wow.
No problem man! It was a great video, Josh is a legend. Thanks for sharing! I know right? They’re such good quality guitars. Thanks for checking this out dude 🤘
This was an excellent video, and sold me on a guitar I was curious about. I really like my Fusion something something HH Tele, and it left me very impressed with the brand. It's not quite the level of my made in Japan guitars, but it's actually not far off either. Really well made in the ways that matter, just the finish and the pots that weren't perfect.
That's awesome of you to say dude, thank you! I'm with you mate, the quality you get from such a wallet friendly guitar is outstanding. Cheers for checking out the video, I appreciate it! 🤘
Looks and specs are almost identical to my charvel tele with fishmans. Thinking about checking one of these out and seeing how close they are. A quarter of the price.
Thanks for checking out the video man! Specs wise, they’re not a million miles away. For me, the necks on Charvels and these couldn’t be more different but Charvel definitely have their own thing going on. I’d be super interested to know what you think if you did try it. Thanks again mate! 🤘
I have a single cut flamed maple HB. It’s of very good quality and sounds great. These guitars are killer for the price and can stand next to a gibby studio , IMO.
They really are fantastic aren’t they? Glad you’re enjoying yours mate and thanks for watching the video, I appreciate it 🤘
I have the strat version. Easily one of the best guitar ive ever got. It's nice to know that we are living in a time where Cheap guitars are getting good, and Good guitars are getting cheap. I simply don't give a damn about brands now as long as its good.
That’s the right mentality to have dude! If the quality is good then who cares what the headstock says right? It’s only better for us players in the long run. Glad you love your guitar mate and thanks for watching the video 🤘
Great video! I love my Fusion T but don't you find yourself needing to have higher string height than normal? I actually don't own this one, I've got a Fusion T with no EMGs but other than that I imagine it's mostly the same guitar. I don't know if it's the frets but I notice I can't lower the string height as much as I'm used to
Cheers man! I actually have noticed that, yeah! I haven’t done a really deep setup yet but just after a quick restring and brief setup the action is slightly high compared to my preference. Appreciate you watching dude 🤘
Have you adjusted the truss rod? From what I can gather, if your neck is straight, you 'should' be able to set any guitar to have a low action. Loads of stuff on CZcams about how to do it. (Not great at it myself. Find a good luthier and get them to do it. Shouldn't cost too much.😂 Good luck.)
It’s crazy value and quality , but we must remember that manufacturing technology today is so much more advanced than what was possible 10 or 20 years ago. Machines can do an incredible accurate job of what previously could only be done by hand. Technology is now so advanced. While it can’t replace a luthier hand finish , it comes close very close. .
Exactly mate. We live in the golden age of affordable guitar manufacturing and it's so good to see the quality that some brands are coming out with. One day, I'd love to own a truly hand made instrument but, for now, these are a great way to get a fantastic new guitar at a great price point. Appreciate the thoughtful comment and you checking out the video dude, thank you! 🤘
I bought a Harley Benton V a while back, zero regrets sits happily alongside my collection of Fenders, Ibanez etc and gets just as much playtime. The build, sound, fit and finish are excellent, all for about a quarter of the cost of a Gibson V. No brainer.
I 100% agree dude, they’re amazing bang for buck. I’m glad you’re stoked on yours man and thanks for checking out the video 🤘
Not my style of guitar at all but love your presentation jack - honest and entertaining - good luck man
That’s really kind of you to say, thank you! It means a lot that you enjoyed the video 🤘
I enjoyed your review, i like how you expose
I’m really glad you enjoyed it dude, thank you so much for checking it out 🤘
From Russia with love! Dude, you are really cool!
Hey dude! I'm just some idiot on the internet who likes to talk about guitars but it means a lot that you'd say something so cool. Thank you, I appreciate it bro 🤘
What tuning were you using here? Also did you have to do any work after chaging string guage? One other question, i was wondering if you know if the boss katana go has a pitch shifter that i could use to change tunings without doing a setup? Thank you. Im subbed. Love this channel!
Thank you my dude, I'm stoked to have you watching! 🤘 The guitar was in drop B here dude, I didn't have to do a huge amount of setting up and, to be honest, my strings were a little too light anyway for this demo but I didn't do any real work. Sorry mate, I'm not well up on the Katana Go. Should I get one on the channel? Thanks again bro!
@@JackTaylorGuitars No problem! That's crazy, this guitar is amazing. I actually ordered one myself... standard black not a fan of the t shape. The katana go looks amazing for the price, size and it can be used as an audio interface so if you can get one on the channel that would be awesome. You should check it out, they are on back order I believe though and thank you for the reply, I appreciate it!
Awesome dude, congrats on the new guitar! Oooh that does sound good. I'm gonna dig a little deeper, I appreciate the recommendation! Cheers bro 🤘
That's a sick, ripping intro, dude!
Love the fact that they're really affordable, even with the specs they're offering. Too bad, they can only be purchased through Thomann, even though the guitars are made in the neighbouring country, which is like a stone throw away (metaphorically speaking).
Thank you bro, I’m stoked you enjoyed it!
Yeah that does suck, I don’t know if the new Thomann warehouse in the US is a thing yet that I heard about but maybe at some point it’ll help get them to more places in the world!
@@JackTaylorGuitars Would definitely love to see that happen. The chances of it happening in this country are slim, but our neighbour, Indonesia, has a rather big music industry there, and if Thomann/Harley Benton were to set up a distributor there, that would be ace.
@@WailingRaven For sure man, it definitely makes sense too. But I guess only time will tell!
Well done jack lad....just bought one after watching your vid!! You should ring harley benton for some commision!😂😂🤘🤘
😂 Thanks mate! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you enjoy the guitar even more! 🤘
The Intro Song is sooooo sick. Can you please upload a tutorial or backing track!?
Greetings from Germany
Thank you bro, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I don't have any plans to right now but let me see what I can do. Appreciate you checking out the video dude 🤘
Ok Yeah I forgot. The Paint chips but it’s intended like Jim’s guitars he likes to wear them in. I like that. Like I said I had only problems with my electronics. E xcept for that I think this is a killer guitar and exceeds most of my other guitars. Glad you like it too.
Cheers my dude! I actually like that about it too, I’d rather it didn’t chip but I don’t mind a worn in guitar. These will look sweet with a good bit of play wear on them! They’re a great thing man, I’m glad you’re still enjoying yours. Thanks again bro! 🤘
Good video young man. Very nice. Harley Benton and Cort have some Good deals on Quality guitars. Thanks 😎👍👌💯🎸🎸
Thank you mate, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Cort is another brand I'd like to check out at some point. Seems like they make some excellent guitars. Thanks again! 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars welcome. Check out Cort Fat290 series sweet guitars. I want to buy one when I can 👍👋🎸🎸
Cheers for the suggestion Mike, I definitely will!
Bit Late to the party, but................I've had that exact model for over a year and it has gotten better with playing and a tiny tweak here and there. Incredible value and specs!
I switched the pups around, I prefer the alnico mag in the bridge, like an 85 type sound (and yes I know its trembucker spacing but I wound it down on the bass string side, with no loss
of sound on any string at all). Stays in tune all night, very reliable and very versatile. This is my third HB and they are all brilliant! I did change pups in the other two and christ it turned them into great machines, they are three and four years old to me, and no issues whatsoever after extensive gigging. I should mention my more expensive guitars(PRS, Suhrs, etc) live at home and these get horsed around the place, sometimes on planes too. Unreal! Indonesia is the centre of the universe now for guitar makers, and the name brands too.
Never too late man, I appreciate you checking out the video regardless! That’s super impressive man, I’ve nowhere near tested mine this rigorously so that’s impressive. Thanks for the info dude, stoked you love yours too 🤘
You’re very welcome. Extraordinary times 😂
Keep up the good work 🙏🤘
Thanks you mate, I’ll do my best 🙇🏻♂️
I've owned two HBs - both good for the price. :)
The only problem with Harley Benton is the Harley Benton logo on the headstock. No worries if you're not a guitar snob, or don't care about resale. ;)
That is a very good point mate, resale value is not as high as it should be consider the quality. Cheers for checking out the video dude 🤘
Great review brother!
But give me some more shredding!
I appreciate it my dude, thank you! I’m far from a shredder anyway man 😂 but I’m taking it a little easier at the moment ‘cause of some hand and arm problems. Next time I’ll try and get a bit more playing in dude. Thanks again 🤘
Nice sustain. Nice exotic and Lynchey solo. Preferred the look of the Ibanez but sound rules here.
Thanks so much for checking it out mate, I really appreciate it! 🤘
Hey Jack! Love the review of this guitar! I got this in a trade the other day and do like it a lot. Do you find the bridge pickup in the wrong place? Like it’s way too forward? Why did they make it that way. Seems redundant. I’m also having an issue with the Jack as my cable keeps falling out and I’m on the fence about which one to replace it with. Something about stereo jacks? I’m a passive guy and don’t know too much about emgs. Thanks for the great content.👍🤘
Thanks so much mate, I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! I never really hand an issue with the bridge pickup placement personally but, if I had to guess, it might have been to take a little bit of bite out of the pickups but that really is just a hunch. Yeah, you'll need a new stereo jack for that but it's likely you can get a replacement from EMG themselves for not much. Might be worth it! But this guitar doesn't use the solderless system so you could do a solderless conversation with EMGs kit for about £30 which might be totally worth it if you're changing the jack anyway. It's an easy job too. Thanks again dude! 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Thanks for the tips! Yeah I looked in the cavity and yes no Emg solder less parts in there. Looks like I will buy that kit. Thanks again and keep up the content. It’s awesome👍
Sorry for the late reply dude! I don't get notifications when someone writes back. No worries mate, happy to help and I hope you got on alright with the upgrades 🤘
man, that opening riff was like if elitist married soilwork - fking love it!
Thanks so much dude, I’m stoked you enjoyed it! And thanks for checking out the video too 🤘
I need an inexpensive metal workhorse with 24 frets that can play cleans well. This seems like it. Great review.
Definitely one to consider dude! Thanks so much for checking it out 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars thanks man love your channel. Have you checked out their Amarok series? Also another contender for cheap.
I appreciate that mate, thank you! I haven't yet but I'm planning on trying one this year 😉
My kids and I all have very nice guitars but we're starting to collect harley Bentons now 😊 we love them
That’s so cool man! I hope my daughter shares your kid’s interest in guitars when she’s old enough to play! Thanks for checking out the video dude 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars I showed my daughter metal way too soon and she hated it. Now that shes 14 shes a punk with a pink mohawk and always wears a leather jacket. My 12 old son discovered Metallica on his own and plays bass for their band. We're recording a demo soon so they can get shows this summer. Thanks for the content! I'm sure your daughter will be inspired one day.
Man, it sounds like you’re doing it right to me! When you’re lads demo is out please let me know. I’d love to hear it! No need to thank me dude, I’m just glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the kind words, it means a lot 🙏
I agree with the SS frets. Yes they may be rougher, but it's so easy to polish them smooth. I've had guitars with rough nickel frets new too. Personally I'd much rather have slightly rough SS frets and polish them myself than to get nickel frets.
Just curious, being a Tele shape, does it have much tendency to neckdive?
Yeah dude, absolutely. I’d rather have the stainless any day too.
If I’m honest, I don’t generally stand up with my guitars due to lack of floor space in my little office 😂 But I did stand with it once and it felt ok, I don’t remember any real neck dive but it definitely wasn’t enough to say for sure. Thanks for watching mate, I appreciate it 🤘
I picked this guitar up at a Thomann store visit because it does look too good to be true in videos and online. It didn't feel that great to play for me, but that might have been the classic setup problems like the scrubby frets, high action, old strings etc. I've got a Chapman ML3 Bea Standard which has one of my all time favourite necks which is the guitar I compared the Fusion-T EMG to.
The Fusion-T is still great value for the money.
The Bea models were so cool man. It’s a shame they’ve gone now! Thanks for checking out the video dude 🤘
..also as far as finish goes. The matte finish on my charvel wore down to the wood in under a year. But I like the worn look.
looks and sounds just awesome
I fully agree man! 🤘

@@JackTaylorGuitars Awesome i just ordered one.
Nice! Hope you like it mate 👊
Thanks for the review! Didn't know this could come with EMG's. I got a good deal on a lightly used 25th anniversary Fusion T with tesla humbuckers! Has anyone here tried that setup for metal? Any opinions on how those might sound compared to these EMGs? Buddy I bought it from should be shipping it tomorrow :) Stoked!
Congrats on the new guitar dude! I haven't tried the teslas but from what I know they're still a very capable pickup. Hopefully you've managed to coax some good tone from them! Thanks for watching man 🤘
Harley Benton's silence even the most hardcore of guitar snobs. Them people are doing incredible work.
I fully agree mate! They’re really setting the standard for affordable guitars. Thanks for watching dude, I appreciate it 🤘
What strings gauge are you using and what tunning? It sounds awesome
Cheers my dude! They're D'addario XT 11-52 and I'm tuned to drop B in this video man. Appreciate you checking it out 🤘
Did your one have slight neck dive? Got mine today and that's the only negative I have with it. Once I tuned up it was literally good to go intonation was near perfect. Coming all the way from Germany to the UK.
Yeah man, the neck is a little heavy for sure. I barely stand to play because my tiny little office doesn't have much room but I have tested it a bit and there is some. Glad it was all as expected when it arrived. Hope you're enjoying it and thanks for checking out the video! 🤘
I've been a fan of Thomann/Harley Benton, since last year when I bought my first guitar from them(fanned fret 8-String) the import delivery, taxes to get it out to me here in Arizona were just shy of $110 lol but I will say this, still couldn't find a guitar/company for that price(even counting the extra fees) that delivered that kind of comfort, tone, absolutely no setup needed out of the box(RARE), and only 'Con' I had was the pickups...Lol after watching your vid, makes me want to order that Roasted Tele, and I haven't really played 6-Strings in almost a decade
That's awesome man and you made a sick choice in guitar! I love that thing. Glad you're stoked on it and I appreciate you checking out the video 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars thanks buddy! Yea the 8-String I got last year was the R-458BK, ended up modding the hell out of it 😆 put a Red EMG-808X in the Bridge, and replaced the Tone Knob...W/ a EMG Push Button KILLSWITCH lol...I'm a tech/Luthier so you'll see that kinda stuff on my channel 🤘🏻 I haven't ordered the one in your vid yet but am going to.....I have subbed to you as well, cause we kind of do the same stuff on here 👈🏼🤘🏻😎🎸 keep up the great work buddy
That's awesome man! Sounds like a beast. I ended up with that TKO kill switch in my Ibanez Iron Label mod project, it's cool dude haha Let me know what you think of the Fusion if you get a hold of it. I just subbed to you bro, looking forward to see what you've got in store 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars hell yea, thanks for the sub as well dude! Lol 😆 🤣 😂 you know it's rough out here in YT land lol....I'll definitely keep you in the loop about the Fusion, I do have like 5 other pieces of Gear in my Queue atm lol plus, trying to record everything (whole 1-man band thing) gets a bit tiring. I'm about to make a vid (again)on the 7-string I just bought, Ibanez RGMS7-BK, to gripe about....hahah well, I'll make and you'll see, I'm starting to become "the guy who spots companies defects" gyy haha
The thing I like most about this guitar is the potential for a few simple mods.
If I don't like the upper neck profile, I can safely take up to 2 mm off the back of a maple 'Modern C'.
And if the pickup doesn't deal the loud/hard cleans I want for driving my pre-amp/amp (Apex Horizon and H&K 40 watt tube DGM) into metal-heaven, then I can replace them.
Everything else sounds nice, and it is one of the best mod'd tele-neck-heels I've seen.... certainly the best on a 420 US$ guitar.
From the early days of Steve Morse and (ferchrissakes Steve MArriott, see Song of a Baker), tele-types have always been a great test-bed for modifications...
I see this one as being no different, and a great starting point for the price.
Now, anyone know if I can buy a replacement neck from Thommen if I mess up the neck shave?? lol
You're absolutely right dude. It's got everything most players would need but it's in a position to really make it your own. Such a sick option! From what I can tell, shaving the neck would absolutely be possible. There's a lot of meat there to go at! Not sure on the replacement though 😂 Thanks for watching and the thoughtful comment man 🤘
These HOT 70's pups can get pretty hot and clean up nicely as well. I kinda prefer the Retroactive EMG's over the others, even over my Seymours and Dimarzio's.
I have one MAJOR problem with Harley Benton, I can't stop buying them!!! I've Purchased this one, then the JA-60CC in Seafoam for my daughter, then the SC-DLX Gotoh in Pelham Blue and just tonight, the Fusion-T 25th Anniversary Firemist. Damn you Harley Benton!!!!!! J/K love these guys!
😂 Definitely not a bad problem to have dude! I’m glad you like them so much. That SC is such a nice guitar too, I’ve been looking at it for a while now too. Thanks for watching mate, I appreciate it 🤘
i dont know if you will ever read this, but for a beginner, would you choose the tele version or the strat of this guitar for a first guitar?
very nice review btw
Hey thanks mate I’m glad you enjoyed it! I read all my comments dude so feel free to ask any questions any time. So, I’ve only played the T-style in this model but I do have an S-style fusion 3. I really like them both and I don’t think there’s a huge amount of difference for a beginner. My advice would be to get the one you like the look of best 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars hey, thanks for your reply!
i just ordered the Fusion-III, so the strat variant with a Katana 50 MKII
very looking forward for it to arrive and start with learning
This is fire and makes me wanna get back into playing! How long you been into guitars? Had to come show another Creator some love 🙏🏾 Keep at it!!
You should do it bro! I’ve been playing like 19 years on and off dude. Really fell back in love with it 5 or 6 years ago. Appreciate the kind words mate 🤘
Been wanting to take my Les Paul out of drop c and back to standard. Bought a LTD MH1000 with an evertune for that, but have just kept it in standard too. May look at this or the fusion-3 for my drop tuning and get that LP back to standard. Been wanting to grab one of the 2x12 celestion v30 cabinets too from them as well.
What is the general consensus on their B stock? Just paint defects and whatnot, or more serious stuff?
That sounds like a plan mate! I couldn’t really say about their B-stock though, I’ve never had anything from it. From what I understand it is just paint stuff and it would function completely normally. Thanks for checking out the video dude 🤘
I bought a Harley Benton b stock CST-24 Black Cherry Flame deluxe series. I have no idea why it was listed as b stock. its lovely, not a mark on it and it plays like a dream.
@@herm202 Good to know, thanks! I may just have to go that route then. I ended up buying a Harley Benton bass this week off of reverb after a buddy of mine asked if I was interested in learning bass for when his current bassist moves at the end of the year. So will probably wait a little bit before grabbing another guitar at this point. The person I got the bass from said the same thing about the B stock basses they got got from Thomann, couldn't tell what the issue was ever.
Was also looking at their Telecasters last night, so have 2 guitars and a cab I want of theirs. Haha.
Nothing is cheap...
Everything has its own value $
Anyway ! Good demonstration...❤
That's a lovely sentiment bro! Thanks so much for checking out the video, I'm glad you enjoyed it 🤘
Great video and great song man! What is the tuning?
Thanks my dude, I’m stoked you enjoyed it! I’m tuned to Drop B in this video man 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars this is the way!
It certainly is bro 🤘
It's basically an Amarok in a Telecaster form and a bolt-on neck. That being the case, it should be awesome.
I’ve yet to try an Amarok dude but if that’s the case I want to give one a go even more now! Cheers for checking out the video mate 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars I don't regret getting my Amarok. I've had it for two years now, and it has become my primary guitar. My MIJ RR3 from Jackson is a close second, but the electronics are not doing so well after 20 years of ownership.
That’s high praise dude!
Nice review. What's that instrumental song?
Thank you Fin, I'm glad you enjoyed it! That's one of my own ideas dude that I'm working on at the moment 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Cool man. Greetings from Manila, Philippines!
Cheers mate! Greetings from the soggy UK 😂
@@JackTaylorGuitars Do they have pointed guitars like King V's?
Nothing quite as pointed as that. I think the closest thing to like Jackson levels of pointy is their explorer shape?
I ordered the te-20 hh but wish I could find this as lefty, I like everything about it.
I do think they’re missing a trick by not offering this in a lefty dude, it’s a real shame. I hope you enjoy the one you chose though bro 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars For sure and if not there's plenty more to research.
If you like the base of the TE-20 it might be worth a mod? Who knows! Thanks for checking out the video dude 🤙
Good video. Would be cool if you could let us know what the guitar weighs.
Cheers dude, I'm glad you enjoyed it! And I appreciate the feedback. I'll definitely start including that in the next reviews I make. I just went and weighed this for you and it's super close to 8lbs. Hope that helps man and thanks again!
@@JackTaylorGuitars Thanks for the reply and the information.
Should I get this or pay a bit more for the Charvel Joe Duplantier tele (the white one with the designed by duncan buckers)?
These HBs are fantastic for the money dude but the Duplantier Charvel is absolutely a better guitar, I guess it comes down to which you like more. Thanks for watching mate! 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars thanks for the quick answer! Yeah these EMGs to me sound a bit weird and not just on this demo of this guitar, it's Corts and other guitars too. I don't know how to describe it, it's like when bass is distorted and the strings sound "seperate", they don't flow that well into each other in a chord
Think you’re probably hearing the compression dude and I totally get you. It’s great for some stuff and not so much for others!
This sounds insane. Does HB have a passive pickup version of the Fusion-T?
They do, dude! They’re in slightly different finishes but there are passive options available. Thanks for checking it out mate 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Nah, thank *you* for doing this review. Sure I'm saving up for a Holcomb SE SVN but this will do nicely as a 6-string chug machine. AND it won't burn a hole in my pocket unlike the former.
My pleasure dude, honestly. If it helped that’s all I can hope for! The Holcomb stuff is so sick man but I’m sure this’ll do you well for a little while until then 🤘
Sold !
😂 If only this video was sponsored dude! In all seriousness though, it’s a killer guitar. I love mine! Hope you enjoy yours too and thanks for checking out the video 🤘
The Intro gave me Metalcore vibes
I'll take that as a compliment, thank you! Metalcore is like my bread and butter. I'm trying to expand a bit but I always keep coming back 😂 Appreciate you checking out the video, thanks 🤘
I love Metalcore
You and me both dude 🤘
Hey @JackTaylorGuitars, i found your channel by pure luck when I was looking at picking up the Ibanez RGA42EX-BAM and you suggested not to due to the build quality. I'm currently looking at picking up my first guitar at around the £400 price point and looking for something which I would be able to play bands like Slipknot, Architects, Beartooth and Bury tomorrow. Would you suggest this as a good starting guitar, or would you suggest something slightly different for this sort of music? Appreciate the help!
Hey dude! Great choice in bands btw!
This would be a great option for sure, it’s got a lot of good specs. The only drawback I’d say is the neck is pretty chunky and might be a little uncomfortable for some, also the frets need a little bit of work.
Personally, I’d suggest a Chapman ML3 Standard in this price range. The necks are incredibly well done and they play awesome. It’d be a great pick! Hope that helps mate and thanks for checking out the video 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars I really appreciate the help with this one Jack! Do you have a link to one that you'd recommend? Second part of the question also if you don't mind. Would a stratocaster not be a better type of guitar for these types of bands? Appreciate all the advise bro!
@@evilazza14 No problem dude, happy to help however I can! This is the one I’m talking about but there are a few different colours:
www.andertons.co.uk/chapman-ml3-modern-standard-electric-guitar-deep-blue-satin
In terms of shape, it’s all preference dude. As long as it has humbucking pickups and plays nice then it’s good for metal and totally up to you. Though, one of the guitarists for Bury Tomorrow is a Chapman artist and plays an ML3 pro! The standards are still awesome though. Hope that helps bro!
@@JackTaylorGuitars I appreciate the help more than you know mate! Two final questions if you don't mind me asking. Would a guitar like this be fine for djent too, or would that require a 7 string or something else? What about a starting amp. Do you have any recommendations? Once again, appreciate all the help!
@@evilazza14 Of course not dude, happy to! 7 strings are cool but I wouldn’t venture into that territory yet. If you’re getting into some djent stuff then Periphery have plenty of songs in a tuning called drop C that’s for 6 strings.
It’s all a bit of a rabbit hole if you’re just starting out but I’d get set up with a good 6 string like the chapman and start from there.
For a starting amp you can’t go wrong with the Boss Katana, they’re awesome and really flexible! Feel free to email me or DM me on instagram if you have any more questions bro 🤘
80+ to ship it to the USA. That riff was hard my guy. Sic
Yeah man that does suck about shipping. I think if I remember right that Thomann are creating or have made a US warehouse for HB at least. If that is or becomes a thing that would be great! And thanks dude, I accidentally ripped off Architects in a big way but it’s only a gear demo 🤣 Appreciate you watching bro 🤘
i owned this guitar and its worth every cent imo
Thanks for checking out the video mate, I appreciate it 🤘
If you want a budget shredder, guitar Max has a signature guitar from Harley Benton and it looks fantastic.
I haven't seen much about the Guitar Max sig but it does look like a sick option. Really interested to know what the neck profile is like. And big congrats to him for getting it! Thanks for watching mate, I appreciate it 🤘
Let me assure you... Rough feeling stainless steel frets isn't only on cheap guitars. I own an Ibanez MM1 (Martin Miller's AZ Prestige). This is a very expensive and amazing high end guitar, and when I first tried it in the store, I was shocked at how rough the bends felt (I even hesitated to buy it)... but after playing it for a day or two, the roughness was 100% gone and they now feel like butter and are completely mirrorlike. I can't really explain what is causing this phenomenon, since clearly they've been polished like crazy up to the edges. In fact, the edges are so polished, you can't even notice they have been cut and filed.. like if the metal would have been melted and molded for perfect edges. Not a single file mark anywhere.
That's interesting dude! I would have never expected the MM1 to have any sort of roughness at all. Like you say, they're obviously going to be incredibly well polished so I wonder why that is! Definitely reassuring to know that this isn't just a lower end thing and that a couple of days of play makes all the difference even on the top of the line stuff. Thanks for the insightful comment and checking out the video man! 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Haha yes indeed... but I trusted the seller that reassured me, telling me that it's totally normal, and told me that if the roughness wasn't gone after a few days of playing it with lots of bends.. then he would fully refund me. He also offered me 500$ off... which completely convinced me! XD Cheers dude!
That's a confident guy! Sounds like you made the right decision though. Thank you man!
Totally agree with you but I'm a little bias. I'm picking up one myself.
Is the name a hint to the bias? 😁 It truly is a killer guitar, I'm a big fan of it! Thanks for checking out the video, I appreciate it massively🤘
Where is best play to buy their guitars in the US?
Hey dude! Cheers for checking out the video. You can only get them through Thomann with them being their house brand but I don’t know what the situation is with US shipping and tax etc. I did hear, think it was via @Agufish, that they were looking at a US warehouse but I dunno if that’s been done. Sorry I can’t be of more help mate 🤘
If it didn't have the reversed headstock I would definitely get one. I like reversed headstocks on many guitars, but reversed Tele and Strat headstocks just look wrong to me. Great video though!
Thanks dude, I’m really glad you enjoyed it! That’s fair mate. I’m a big fan personally but the worlds a better place for folks liking different stuff. I appreciate you checking it out 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Well said, sir
I have myself one of these. It might just be mine fella but the neck dive bummed me out. As a bedroom player its not a deal breaker. I was just expecting it to sit like my other Teles and it doesn't.
No mate, it might not just be yours now you mention it. The neck is heavy but I’m always sat down ‘cause my little space is only big enough for a chair 😂 So like, I didn’t really think about it. Appreciate you pointing it out for others! Thanks for checking out the video too dude 🤘
Beside the player himself, the actual things that affect guitar the most are the pickups, in this case two active humbuckers, tonewood is a myth.
I have to say, I pretty much agree with that sentiment mate. I don't care what wood an electric guitar is made from for anything other than weight, feel in the case of necks, and aesthetics if the guitar has no finish. Pickups are far more important outside the amp. Thanks for watching the video mate 🤘
Speaker, eq, and overdrive/distortion have a bigger effect that pickups.
I don't know why but a reverse headstock just DOES something for some guitars that I can't quite put my finger on. For some models it just makes them look so damn good. I think it's great what the guys from Thomann have done here and how responsive they are to constructive criticism. I really think my next guitar will be a Harley Benton. But what do I know? My current favourite guitar is a Champan (ML1 Modern Limited - Rainstorm blue with Seymour Duncan pickups) and I absolutely LOVE this guitar, while so many seem to have issues with this company (which I get). Maybe I just got lucky.
I am fully with you dude, love a reverse headstock! I think HB a definitely worth a shot, for sure. In terms of Chapmans, my experience with the 3 I’ve tried have all been excellent. If you like them dude then there’s no issue. Thanks for checking out the video bro 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Oh, you're welcome. Great presentation from you in this video. Straight to the point, fun to watch. As someone who deals with video production on a daily basis, I really appreciate it when a "smaller" YT channel goes the extra mile in producing a video. As for the Chapman thing: I totally agree. If a guitar works for you - that's the most important thing. Sure they've done some sketchy things in the past, but so have a lot of bigger companies. It looks like they're trying to win back some of the lost fans now, and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes the internet hate train gets a bit crazy...
That’s really kind of you to say mate, thank you! And yeah, totally. It’s nice to see a reasonable and level headed point of view on the internet man 😂 It’s a shame the negative stuff gets the most attention sometimes. Thanks again my dude 🤘

Been thinking about getting one of these for a while and throwing in a set of Daemonums into it, this still kinda seems too good to be true despite all the positive reviews I’ve seen
The Daemonums would be awesome in it to be fair man, I love those pickups, but I'm not sure there's enough difference between the Hot 70s and the Daemonums to warrant it. I can see why you'd think that mate but all I can say is I've got no affiliation to HB at all, I bought mine with my own money so I can say whatever I want. Appreciate you checking out the video man 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars cheers dude, might give it a look, although I’m also halfway through your Chapman review and I kinda like Duncan’s over EMG’s, I’m also a complete sucker for Tele’s with humbuckers so there’s every chance I’ll get both in time 😬
I'm actually going to stack them up against each other in a few videos time dude but if you wanted the spoiler feel free to drop me a DM instagram before you buy anything 😂

@@JackTaylorGuitars Well that was quick answer. Honestly, I just discovered your channel. I liked your play style. I wish I could play rythm like you. Smooth left hand motions, precise right hand picking. I wish my currency wouldn't be so bad, I could get your lessons, anyway. Couldn't wait to see whole track 🤘
Ah mate, if you took the time to comment it’s only right I take the time to reply where I can 🙇🏻♂️ Shame I don’t get notifications for replies though…
But yeah, that’s incredibly kind of you to say dude. Thank you! As it’s happened, I’ve stopped teaching just due to losing out on time with my daughter. Although, I am thinking about affordable courses that I can make to help people out with certain things. If it would be useful, I’ll have a look at what I could do about a rhythm course or even just lessons on the channel? Thank you again mate, I appreciate you 🤘
I really do believe in "to each their own", but I'll also add that if you are more worried about the name on the head-stock than how it feels in your hands and sounds with your setup then you are not focusing on being a musician. Okay if that's what you want, just be realistic in your efforts for you own sake. Cheers.
Absolutely dude, I couldn't agree with you more! Appreciate you checking out the video mate 🤘
You're supposed to look at the audience, not the headstock!
Really wish they had thinner necks! They do have the Amarok models, but those don’t have the cool colors like these ones..
I'd have preferred a thinner neck too dude. It doesn't need to be wafer thin but a little bit less would have been ideal. Interested to try an Amarok too actually. Cheers for watching mate 🤘
@Der_Mantie could be.. I got an Amarok 7 and it feels faster than the Fusion III, but maybe because the fretboard is flatter
I can only get the Left handed version, Comes with Tesla Pickups which not that bad actually. i have the Plazma X1s in a few of my guitars already

@@JackTaylorGuitars hey I appreciate the reply, and I think I’ll just give it a try. Thanks man🤘🤘
No problem at all dude, I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help!
How chunky of a neck are we talking? I was about to pull the trigger on one of these but your comments on the neck shape scared me off. I'm used to playing the ESP LTD EC-1000 guitars that have a "Thin U" shape. Do you think it is at all comparable to that shape? Those necks are pretty fast and comfortable, so don't really want to move to something drastically different. Cheers!
Thanks for checking out the video man. I wouldn’t say it was at all close to a thin U, no. It’s much closer to like a baseball bat Fender neck than anything like that dude. I hope that helps and thanks again 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Appreciate the response! Surprised to see a vintage style neck on a guitar that seems like it was designed with a modern focus to it.
No problem at all man! Yeah, me too. It's not a bad neck by any means but calling it a 'modern C' on the specs is wildly misleading imo. It's just a chunky thing haha
Outtakes got me ⚰️ 😂
😂 Thanks bro! There’s usually like an hours worth of me making a mess of the video when I cut it together haha
@@JackTaylorGuitars I watch a ton of guitar videos. I'm a semi beginner, but am a guitar collector on top. It's like gonna get me in trouble with my wife type problem lol, but your videos are super easy to watch. I'm a fan now. Please keep em up brother. Peace from the US
Haha dude, I know the feeling 😂 Only I’ve got a half decent excuse when a guitar shows up now! I appreciate you for saying that bro, thank you. It really means a lot! Stoked to have you around 🤘
Not a fan of those giant screws they use to bolt the neck on without a plate. IMHO it's not a good construction technique. The plate is what spreads the load and sandwiches the neck tightly onto to body. Maybe they'll offer some more premium features as the model continues to be developed. It's 90% of the way to being a perfect budget guitar. Just needs a few basic things sorted.
It’s an interesting point mate but I don’t know whether I showed it clear enough on the video. They’re regular size neck screws but using a countersunk ferrule so it’s the same technique you see on high end Ibanez or Strandbergs with a contoured neck heel. Definitely a feature you see on high end guitars so I wouldn’t worry about it at all, it’s super secure! Thanks for checking out the video and the comment mate, I appreciate it 🤘
If the paint come easily, the fans of relic guitars will find a great value here.
I suppose that's definitely one way to look at it! It will almost certainly wear nicely. I don't know if that's what I want personally but we'll see how it ages! Thanks for checking out the video dude 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars I'm not into it either, so a poor paintjob would be a bit of a dealbreaker for me, but I'm interested to see how it ages too! Maybe an update video in a year? ;)

any neck dive?
Nah dude, I didn’t experience any! Cheers for checking out the video 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars yeah I want to get the t style only because the neck joint looks slightly more sculpted and smooth compared to the strat style, but there’s a few reviews saying the t has neck dive.
