Mahsa died on 16 September 2022 after her arrest.After this incident, women in many provinces of Iran strongly opposed the hijab, which they have been doing for a long time, and because of this, women started throwing hijabs on the streets. Women even started cutting their hair in protest against the hijab. Now, making the law more strict, the government has asked the shopkeepers and service providers not to employ any woman without wearing hijab, nor to sell any kind of goods to her.But women have flatly refused to accept all these restrictions and legal strictures and are adamant on not wearing hijab despite the strict ban. Women are being arrested continuously but it has no effect on them. They are constantly advocating the wearing of choice but not to headscarfs.
