I've done a bit of research on it... yes, at first he could not read sheet music and did everything by ear (which yes, I think is very incredible as well), but as his career went on, he eventually learned to read sheet music and learned to play his instruments. Hope this helps :)
I really do not like it when they stop in a song especially such an emotional one as this and Till I Hear You Sing Again. It breaks the drama for me. Saying that Ramin is one of my favourite singers of one of my favourite songs, Till I Hear You Sing Again.
Ramin Karimloo has a superb voice. An instrument both delicate and strong.

I’m sure at this point he can read music. He plays piano and guitar. He just probably learned on the job.
