She has a hard time apologizing to Bert because she thinks that she's smarter than he is and that if something causes a rift between the two of them it's always his fault. That's the baseline, when she finally realizes that she needs to apologize it's a paradigm shift that's hard to overcome

I watch football, but I don't know who these guys are.
Lewan was once the highest paid left tackle in the NFL and 1st round pick. Compton was undrafted and had more of a fight and claw to stay on the roster but had a 10 year career that eventually saw him be voted a captain by his teammates. So not surprising that you don’t know Compton, a little bit that you don’t know Lewan.
Lewan had a good career until he tore his knee up.
