The word deacon means servant. Big celebrations in the Syro-Catholic Church in Bethlehem. On 1 June, Bishop Mar Jacob Ephrem, Patriarchal Vicar in Jerusalem, the Holy Land and Jordan, ordained 5 deacons, and conferred the ministry of cantor and lector on 6 people. What attracted attention was that the ordination of deacons also included lay people.
