I remember seeing them back in the early 80's... when they had to bring theses huge.. music components. Synthesizers....now its just lap topss ...love them ...there music.. brought out this shy kid....to a jr highschool dj ..i was the only one whom heard them and had two records of them...
bliss..got me into sampling.one of my first most intersting lp ..into battle! after hearing it started my intrest in sampling...but was a dj then started an addiction with synths.thank you art of noise.
useless fact of the day . did you know one of the art of noise has won an Oscar ? Anne Dudley for her sound track of the film the full monty in 1997 . only the second woman composer ever to win one .
they do actually do. you have to become part of the fan club, get on website mailing lists, get festival newsletters etc. these things are often set up a year to four to six months in advance.
My favorite part is the 2 second warm up for the real synthesizers, in real life they do not warm up that fast, must be nice to have a crew that keeps them warm like the crew that J.J. Has!
Art Of Noise in the 80’s once said they are a band & the CMI/Fairlight is the lead singer😯👍....so glad I was there at the beginning when they played & recorded the music for ABC’s Lexicon Of Love album & Malcolm McClaren’s Duck Rock album before they did there own album called Who’s Afraid Of The Art Noise masterpiece......these musicians are just as important as Brian Eno, The Beatles & Kraftwerk....
@@lisajohnson1528 He's got two screens, but I can only see one CPU and that appeared to need re-booting at 12:20. The Series II (or IIx) he's got there is around mid 1980's, so not surprising if it was playing up.
i love AON since the very first album my aunt had that i played to death. BUT i cant help feeling that theyre merely adlibbing to the original track playing, as in not really live music. I still love em to death and own just about every album, 12" vinyl and cd they put out but wow they kinda look bored here lol
Live my ass. About as unsequenced as a fat boy slim DJ set. If you want to see them live, watch their gig at Hammersmith odeon (now Hammersmith Apollo) Dave bronze totally rocked beatbox. Shame about the backing 'singers', they did their best to kill all the songs.
one of my favorite bands of all time....awesome!!. love these crazy songs and original music style.
Beatbox is one of the greatest things ever recorded.
They shaped so much music during the 1980's, along with Trevor Horn. Pioneers and geniuses.

Ann Dudley is such a badass!!
The best band of art in the WORLD!!!!!!!
Anne Dudley is a multi-award winner including an Oscar.

Thanks for uploading this
Wow! I've always wanted to see these guys! Best box still rocks!
I like how they now have two J.J. Jeczaliks playing back to back.
Classic line up of Dudley, Jeczalik, Langan excellent
classic line-up, new spelling
None of Your Business. Excuse my typing, combination of dyslexia and an odd auto correct. Spelling duly corrected
I can't believe I gave you a hard time; sorry for that!
None of Your Business. No worries. Not the worst the worst comment I've ever had online by a long shot.
Fcutdlady I guess that's what one would call "close to the edit" I know, I'll just leave.....
They have 2 Fairlight CMI synths on stage OMG
My mind is blown!
I was there! 😃
this is hard

Wow if I had known I would have flown there as well. Why don't they tell people about these things ahead of time?
they do actually do. you have to become part of the fan club, get on website mailing lists, get festival newsletters etc. these things are often set up a year to four to six months in advance.
Anyone having a moan about AON playing over samples, you miss the point. AON was an experience, not a performance.

THE HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO ANNE DUDLEY
assolutamente unici, oltre le frontiere della musica.....
Is he really using a CMI on stage. That's so boss.
yes on the right !!!

Think he's got 2

Maybe ... a new album in the works?
🎧🖤
Love this band. But if A Kraftwerk concert is like watching paint dry, an AON concert is like watching DRIED paint!
OMG, it´s really Anne...
The bloke in the back eating his lunch, is simply a bloke in the back eating his lunch. Have you never eaten lunch?
I have never been in a band.
Yeah, very annoying
Omg...He's operating a Fairlight. Like for real. :-O
So they're basically letting the original track play while they press a few samples...Any DJ could have done that or better.
yeah and you were there in 1984 with your wisdom,I guess??
wow your mouth was shut up easily boy

Ok this version of Close to Edit kinda suck compared to the live version back in 2011. Looks like they're just stand there.
2:08 oh is that a sample from Cheetos' voice ???
where are the dwarfs?
I love JJ, but Anne is the star here.
Ki ez a nő? Ő Art of noise, Pótolhatatlan egyéniség. Maga a művészet!!!!!!!
At least HIS IIxs travel well!
Looks and sounds a mess. A shame, as I really like them and similarly, I used to own two Fairlights - Series IIx and a III.
its like paying to watch a bunch of data input clerks inputting tax returns and hitting a few keys on a keyboard

very disjointed performance.
George Lynch why?
2 years later still figuring out why? LOL
