It was already quite common for people in east asian countries, korea especially, to be wearing masks actually. coz the air quality there can get quite bad sometimes with fine dust, the government recommends to wear masks on those days. and wearing masks when you're sick was already common practice. pre-pandemic, idols actually often wore masks purely to just cover their faces in like airports and public places. this was to answer your question on yoongi wearing a mask :)
not east asian but people in public transportations here are also used to wearing masks even before covid bc of air pollution haha i used to wear masks bc i feel safer as well
In both China, Japan and South Korea it is common to wear a face mask when sick, and in South Korea it can get pretty dang dusty I think it was and so almost everyone wears a mask going outside when the levels get high enough (their wether apps show the levels) so it’s pretty common to see people with face masks in these countries even if there is no pandemic!
With regards to humility, I was incredibly struck by a statement RM made in a press conference. He said that whenever they win an award, he thinks 50% of it belongs to ARMY, 5% to each member, and 15% to HYBE / Big Hit. He said it keeps him grounded when he thinks that he is only responsible for such a small part of their success. What other top selling artist would do that? *cough* not Kanye *cough* 😆😆😆
I think most of the guys actually have glasses they just wear prescription contacts most of the time. I've seen RM, Jimin, V and JK all use what I think is prescription glasses or talk about wearing contacts to see. Not sure about the other 3 but it wouldn't surprise me. I loved watching this series and learning more about the members so I hope you enjoy it.
In 2020 Jin said he had surgery, but I'm not sure when it was done. It's a pretty simple outpatient procedure, so it would have been easy to do with their time off.
I'm 63, BTS ARMY since last May, but my husband doesn't quite grasp the amazing and unique spirit of BTS. He said, "Where are all the groupies?" I told him that BTS doesn't have groupies, they're the coolest group on the planet, but they just don't do the sex, drugs and rock and roll thing. "So, how do they have fun?" he wanted to know. AAAARGH!!!!
I just love to see how you went from reacting to BTS in a very professional way to now smiling brightly whenever you see the boys and how you're proud of not only their amazing talent but their beautiful characters... You're my favourite vocal coach when it comes to BTS reactions, always on point!
We used to wear masks in daily basis way before pandemic. For example when riding motorbike, public transports, etc. Those who feel itchy in their throat will simply wear masks.
Agreed on everything you've said. Great reaction. Indeed, they are down to earth and respectful people. Even after award shows in America like thr BBMA and AMA they don't attend after party. They head back to the hotel and do VLIVE while they eat. Thay always celebrate their success with the armys around the world. Even when they celebrate their bday. They do Vlive so, armys get to celebrate with them. How amazing isn't it? They treat armys, crew and staff their family. No artist have done that. So much love snd respect for these 7 bangtans. Armys healers. Borahae 💜 new sub here. ✋
Korea has a lot of fine dust particulates in the air, which is why they invest in mask, air purifiers and also humidifiers due to dry air. They always have masks ready. In east Asia it is expected to wear one when you are sick as well so you don't spread your germs to people. They wear masks on planes too, because air conditioner is usually very drying to the nasal passages and the throat. I always wear one when the air is cold and dry because they trigger throat convulsions and I have asthma.
Adam, thank you for this. You were the first vocal coach I found on YT when I was just starting to get to know BTS. while all 7 of them are extraordinarily talented and charming, it was through your reaction videos that I came to appreciate better what made me like Jungkook's voice, especially at my age and coming from a home country where there are so many naturally gifted singers. Often we are just smitten by a beautiful and soothing voice that we don't know how complex that was. I love how you explain the vocals.
i think you would really love all their documentaries you would really get to appreciate them and respect them even more than you already do when you see how much hard work and all the passion they have for the stage. they have 3 docu series i hope you watch all. also thank you for posting on youtube even just the cut up reaction is really appreciated.
Thank you for this Adam. Loved the burn the stage docu series. My country doesn't have pateron so I'm always so grateful when reactors post on CZcams. Thank you Adam can't wait for the rest💜💜
"There’s 100% of success, I’ll give 50, half to ARMYs. The other half, we put like 5% each, so that’s 35. And I give 15% to the company. So if it’s a trophy, my % is like 5, only an edge of the trophy. Success is not all ours I always try to realize that & it helps me keep myself down to earth, and I think it’s really important to survive in this crazy industry." -Kim Namjoon
Always feels so Emotional when I See this kind of vedios. I am not an expert in any of those field but I am an Army who loves them beyond anything.. This vedio is full of love.. I am so proud of them. I love them🥺💜
I love that you are watching that documentary, BTS are very humble and always very grateful to everyone, they have not come so far for nothing besides their undeniable talent of course, looking forward to it the other parts, stay healthy and happy 💜💜💜💜
Its such a heartwarming and soothing feeling the voice is so calm(even though u don't understand much). Then the audience interacting and seeing BTS as their true selves. These are legendary moments which make you appreciate the world we live in. Im glad to be able to experience the rise of a new age where it is not just dominated by America and 'mainstream' but the world itself as a global community where they as foreign group from asia are treated with respect and are also welcome. I hope BTS can continue to thrive and shine with their personalties and encourage others with their positive impact.
All 5 of them aside from jhope and suga wears and used to wear glasses. Jin actually had a lasik surgery to improve his eye sight thats why he doesn't wear one now. While jimin mentioned it in their early days that he doesn't want to wear his glasses because the perscription is so thick that it modifies his eyes.
All Seven of them actually wear glasses. There are a ton of photos with them in glasses and a lot of behind the scenes videos of them wearing glasses... they just wear contacts all the time for the concerts and public events. They wear a lot of colored contacts as well. :) I LOVE all the guys in glasses. :)
In Korea they perform weekly on shows so they are so used to performing/competing on stage...Not like in America where they don't perform unless they are on tour really
BTS is coming to Las Vegas this April 8, 9, 15 & 16. It's a 4 night concert. I hope you can catch them up live up close and personal. It's definitely worth the experience.
The pollution in the air in Korea is not really good, so most people in Korea use masks on a regular basis to protect their lungs and to avoid post symptoms like breathing problems or lung diseases
Just to comment on something early on in the video: "Is he wearing a mask in 2017???" Yep. Aside from being seen as fashionable in Korea, a part of Korean culture (and much of Asian culture, in fact) is that, if you're sick or worrying about having a cold/something you could spread by breathing or coughing on someone, you wear a mask. It's an admirably courteous culture and honestly, we should really adopt that here, even after COVID has died down. It's considerate of others.
Lovely to watch you do this, I know you have admired their talent and growth as artists, but I think what really makes us ARMY is getting to know them, and what truly wonderful people they are, all 7 of them.
OH I love watching music documentaries and BTS seems different with theirs cuz they really take you behind the technical and boring parts like all those meetings and sound and stage rehearsals. it’s super cool. I wish they shared their costumes too cuz I’m interested in fashion, but they show the actual quick changes during concerts. it’s all so cool to watch P.S. in Korea it seems to me that their celebrities have such a different relationship with the press wherein they really work hand in hand with entertainment journalists, kinda like in Britain, but Koreans are more respectful to the reporters. They do bow to them, they also stop and pose for paparazzi outside airports. also, yeah !! it seems like Suga has always rocked a mask like it’s an accessory hahahaha
Many people in Asian countries are used to wear masks in daily basis when riding motorcycle, or when you have cold / cough.. In addition, in some countries like South Korea, sometimes there are times when the air contains fine dust or pollen, so people needs to wear their masks outside.. But wearing masks in daily basis is very common..
Save Jin, all of them wear glasses. They just learned to wear eye lenses. Jimin and RM wear the thickest glasses. Jimin stopped wearing his huge and thick glasses just weeks before their debute.
Always love your reaction and commentary.💜 Related to mask, in Korea, as well as China ans Japan it's very common to use mask daily routine because of dust, cold, accessory, etc.
Almost all of them have eyes prescription. I know namjoon is rly short sighted. He wears contact lens. Though a lot of times what you see are just fashionable glasses😅
BTS ARE VERY HUMBLE ADAM THATS WHY THEY ARE WELL LOVED BY THEIR STAFF, MOSTOF THEM ARE STILL THERE SINCED THE BEGINNING, A LOT OF PEOPLE SAYING GOOD THINGS ABOUT THEIR CHARACTER THATS WHY ARMY LOVE THEM SOO MUCH TOO💜💜💜💜
*you should react to "the rise of bangtan" it's a free, unbiased docuseries made for army by army on how bts came to be and it tells you a lot about the environment they grew up in as they were starting out*
you mention jimin that you dont see him in glasses.. but jimin is the one who use glases even before debut and school days.. he use contact lense now..
I love BTS's young and always positive energy. I love how they love their food and yet they're all so slender and buffed. Because they don't have attitude and ego's like Western stars do, that is their ultimate strength and reason they've endured through some much adversity. Their humility, beauty and boyishness is unique to BTS and very much endearing to the entire universe.
Lol yes, everyone in Asia starting wearing masks during sickness long ago. (Especially around the time of swine flu) then they just became part of culture and integrated into fashion as well. Sadly they are now required again, but before 2020 they were pretty common for many different situations.
Please react to JUNGKOOK’S new song, “STAY ALIVE (Produced by SUGA)”!! It’s so beautiful, his voice is so angelic and magical!
