I would have used the two front leg pieces for the front dress pieces so the color fading would match. (See how they're two different colors?) Use the original seams for the dress sides, altering them only in the middle for slight fit, maybe adding a tie-string towards the back (I have larger chest)... but very cute!! I like it... I have a few pair of very thin, soft jeans and pants that are a bit outdated but I love the feel and color, so now I know what to do with them!
