    Maybe you should rename this… it’s definitely not an “overview.” Dude’s definitely smart… but it’s like a PhD electrical engineering squirrel who keeps rambling. Ever single thing he says is likely very useful and correct. But dang… zero organization at all.

      I'll check back in a week. Just so you know there's zero pay involved It's voluntary, and you'll get a lot of people that hate on you for making videos that are helpful to some.. I'm looking forward to hearing about the topic! Thanks again for volunteering.

      @@HAMRADIODUDE Wow you’ve got quite the fragile ego and it appears that you’re not able to handle criticism that well. I suppose we can do 2 separate videos. First, we can do a discussion of how to organize a topic into main points and follow that discussion in an organized manner. Then, maybe we can get you a counselor and figure out why you’re so triggered.

    Even if you don't end up in a nursing home... You could develop medical issues that limit mobility in your own home. Heck if I was to just break a leg, I wouldn't be able to get downstairs to my shack. In my opinion, the mobility is the best part. I can go sit on the front porch, or the deck out back. I used my Shari node recently in Arizona, Texas and Missouri. I talk to the same group of guys daily, and with AllStar I can do that, pretty much no matter where I go.

      True Bill. I could think of a few times I couldn't walk at all and was stuck on the couch for a few days. Even recently.

    The Transceive client is a great way to operate on a AllStarLink node on a Mac!

    I wished that Hamvoip runs on Raspbian OS with desktop. Arch is a pita.

      @africantwin173 Only HamVOIP runs on Arch; ASL installs on Debian (and others, w/tweaking).

    Nice presentation except kc9ona NEVER defines any of the acronyms he rattles off - sign of a POOR presenter. The host should stop kc9ONA when he does that and make him spell out what the acronym ("abbreviation") means! I cannot find what "FRPT" means in any acronym source!

    I have a Shari PiHat-4U that I tested on the 55553 Parrot, and it works. What are some popular and active AllStarLink node numbers and AllStarLink hub numbers that I can try connecting?

    • @HAMRADIODUDE
      @HAMRADIODUDE  Před 2 měsíci

      Hey There, great question. HR2.0's node seems to get a lot of traffic (Not always a lot of talkers) - stats.allstarlink.org/stats/43136
      Also, check out the East Coast Reflector - stats.allstarlink.org/stats/27339
      stats.allstarlink.org/stats/keyed will show you a list of currently keyed nodes with a list of connected nodes to each of those keyed nodes. Good lucK!
