You know a band is special when they put something out this good 30 years later...
@Agnes Philomena it's beginning to and back again! haha!
WORD.....I saw them in Morro Bay California at a Small Club. They blew me away with their Musicianship.....at that Age. They can still BRING IT.
SO TRUE...
Intelligent music. Never tire of these guys. Lifelong fan. Love you Cy.
These guys are super intelligent! Not just musically!
@@fixxforlife1569 compared to most bands? well that's a-safe-bet, i guess... in fact, a smarter group of cats, would be hard to herd, i bet, now how d'y'like that?
@@tinfoilhatter Sorry, I don't understand your question.
@@fixxforlife1569 are they frickin' cool, or WHAT, right?
yep 'messages in the music'... ; )
I KEEP DISCOVERING MORE GREATNESS FROM THIS BAND
This is my favorite band from the eighties. They always had this way of creating an atmosphere with their music that is dramatic and mysterious. They are better than ever now!
Jamie West Oram is one the most underrated Guitarists ever..
mike Case I Totally Agree...Very Underrated
He is one of my favorites.
Rupert is my favorite keyboard player. People talk about Nick Rhodes, but He is nowhere near as good and evident in the music. I put Hawks from the Cars in the second spot.
@@robbelliii yes! greenall's got somethin' nobody else even has a clue about! it's ineffable, but undeniable! it's true of each of these guys, in their respective positions, they play so damn good!
AGREED
Holy shit they sound good. I miss this 80's sound floating over the airwaves so much. Very happy to see they are true to their original style, unlike some older bands who try to follow the current trend.
This song is amazing, when I first heard it , I thought it was from 1995.
What a Great song! Always liked this band. And yes, JWO is very underrated - has a lot of color in his playing.
This song is for my friend Carrie. Who left in ,1988. To Texas. For a good life. And... She got it. I'm happy for her. God bless....
I've been a "fixture" since the early eighties, seen them live twice and met them in 2010. This is their best work yet, fantastic!
Synth at 3:25 are really fantastic. This band is really awsome. Cheers from Belgium
This is so deep and cerebral. Thanks for so many years of cool vibes and contemplative music, guys.
Met Cy last week.....very personable.
awesome Band! love them back then, love them still! 2019
Brilliant.... as ever! If there was one band that I could be in, it would be the Fixx
Next level in every direction.
The eighties...a goldmine of musical treasures, The Fixx is absolutely one of them.
Gawd can Cy be any more wonderful
That’s a badass song. Those guys are all super talented musicians, this show was on point.
What an amazing group
Loved them back then, now the maturity of their sound displays itself in a richer multidimensional quality then back in the day. Excellent live sound, Long Live the Fixx.
I've loved this group since back in '82 when I lived for some time in London. They were part of hundreds of great British bands that basically dominated the radio waves all over the world. Still as good as ever.
Listen to this guitar 🎸sound and playing! Brilliant!
it's so dang fendery and shiny-soundin', right? like how does he do that, right?
Absolutely the most underrated band ever. Taken in to account longevity, consistency of members, number of albums, musicianship, Chart successes, and the list goes on. Plenty of underrated bands that had two or three albums, around for a a few years, but cant hold a candle next to the Fixx.
Saw 'em last week.
One of the best true bands ever.
Pure quality.
One of the best pop songs in decades, IMHO. Just unreal. Nothing fancy but just unreal. Wish I could come up with shit like this. The hypnotic guitar stuff is BIG TIME, the keyboard stuff as well. A shame that Cy Curnins solo album was never released (or was it?). Bruce Gaitsch provided some great stuff there. Will continue being a Fixx-fan, although I'm a hard rocker.
i think im going crazy i can listen to song over and over
No, you just have good taste.
These previous comments are right on the mark. Lol. Totally agree. And their music now is my style, adult contemporary, lol . Am I right? Nice lol.
First time I heard this song was at Anthology in San Diego. The CD had not been released yet, but they were playing some of the songs this particular evening. I loved it from the first note.
Way underrated album!
How soothing huh? Lyrics are spot on. Lol. I love the Fixx. Since high school. There inception. And this tune, so adult!! Lol. Easy going. Sweet. Make Love music. Lmao. Right? Yeah.... Lol
Slow riding baby making music at its finest. I'm with you bro.
Can’t get enough of this one. Magical guitar line, cool groove, and Cy’s crystal, thoughtful lyrics
SIGUEN SONANDO A LO QUE FUERON Y SIGUEN SIENDO....UNA BANDA IMPRESIONANTE QUE NOS SOPRENDIERON EN LA MEJOR EPOCA DE NUESTRA MUSICA Y SIGUEN SORPRENDIENDONOS.........BRAVO THE FIXX
Glad to see this band still around.
Thanxs!
AVOLITE d
It's the same lineup as when they formed in 1979! I've seen them twice at The Birchmere in Alexandria, VA (2017, 2019) and they were excellent.
This band should have been massive…they deserved much more acclaim. One of the most nuanced and thoughtful bands of the 80’s.
Great song! Always liked the Fixx, but never saw them live. Going to see them next month at the Avalon theatre in Easton, MD
Love them 🤘
One of the most gorgeous guitar tones I have ever heard. Also like Secret seperation tone.
Sounds like a crystal bell. Brilliant.
Yeah I wish I knew what amp he is playing through, it's small and mic'ed but it doesn't look like a Fender, could be a Roland.
yup kind of like the police, maybe a little flanger too.
.
Almost looks like two Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amps. Wondering if an AxeFX is being used as well. The green strat is great. Jamie West-Oram signature model. I'd buy one.
No AxeFX, good shot of his pedal board in the One Thing vid. Man that green strat...
Another great song from one of the best, intelligent modern rock bands of the '80s...This is no surprise, even though it's almost 30 years later in the performance. They are still in fine form. So cool and so good.
This is good song. I just saw them at an outdoor free show where suprisingly I got right up to the stage for the whole concert. They performed VERY well! They played so many other songs other than the popular ones from the 80s. Jamie West Oram is something else to watch play that guitar! They just played and played...didn't waste a lot of time talking! See them if you can. They have such a unique sound!
Incredible band, incredible music! Thank you for sharing. These boys used to pack stadiums in the 80's playing to millions over there career. Incredible legacy of music they've given.
Agree and did not get to see them until the later nineties, where they played at Town Point Park in Norfolk, VA. Was great to see them live.
They sound so awesome. Still making gorgeous music. Love the guitarist's chops.
I would like to these guys get their Hall of Fame recognition, one of those days. Every album they have made is worth the attention.
Great job , I Love this , I love The FIXX !!! tHIS INSPIRED ME .
Great song from the new (and great!) album of the band. You must have it!
I love this band, always have but didn't know it till I was older! Ha...
All I ever wanted from those eyes
..........Beautiful friction............
Somewhere between dreams and waking , start the day with some simple thing to say, remembering, we all can find a Beautiful Friction in between the lines!
This song is a wonderful example of all the storng elements in this band: rhythm, boards, guitar tone and technique, and deep lyrics
My favorite by them. Damn nice tune.
For some unknown reason, I really prefer this live-version over the original studio-track. The guys were in such perfect-form, it's clear to see that this is one of their favorite songs to perform. I can easily imagine the day (way back, while rehearsing how this song should come together) when they looked at each other, and just KNEW lightning had struck, and they had created something really Magical.
I AGREE WITH THE OTHER COMMENTS ...A GREAT BAND AND A GREAT SONG .. AND THIS VERSION IS SUPERB
Timeless, even they are still doing their fantastic 80's stuff!
This is an astonishing song. It is a rare band who create something late in their career that is every bit as essential as in their "heyday".
All these years and that the best guitar riff I ever heard Oram wrote!
Saw them live three time`s , love them ! So unique !
Cool Beans !
hey, y'know what? i saw 'em in '84, and then again in '86, so i guess that's twice, and i'd say that was a good start, alright...
amazing guitar work.seriously brilliant
Beautiful
What an amazing song. The guitar is hauntingly good.
I love these guys "Red Skies" got me hooked. Cy Curnin is a 'friend' of mine on facebook and seems as personable as his music. I really like these guys. I think they as people are my favorite rock band.
Muchas gracias! Sois los mejores!
None have a sound like The Fixx love them!
Saw these guys in the mid 80’s in Fresno California, opening for either the Police or Journey, and they killed it. This right here sounds way better than the track on the CD. I’ll love this band so much till my last breath.
Uhmmm.... Just a FANTASTIC BAND!!! DAMN!
Many Thank' i ssssssss to Kink Radio
I loved ,love and will always LOVE the FIXX ,i bought all their albums excepted the last one ( not yet )
Their music and style of those melodies makes me do alike a space flight MMMmmhh ! !
What an addictive tune people!!❤❤❤❤😇
I just did! Awesome band then, and now!
Amazing! They sound as great and resonant live as they do on record! If anything, they bring even more power and intimacy to the live performances. The mark of a truly amazing band. Love the Fixx! Go support these guys and buy their new CD. NOW! :) :) :)
They are just SO stinking GOOD.
This song is excellent. Even though this was before the band The Church it has that feeling. Miss these days 🖤
This whole band kicks ass! Listen to that bass line!
I knew these guy's had longevity the first time i laid ears on them
They're still killing it. Love Jamie's guitar playing.

LOVE THE FIXX
I have always wanted to see these guys and will 1 September in Derry NH. One of the best bands to come out of the early 80s Brit wave.
awesome to see these guys still writting great songs.
I DIDN'T KNOW THIS BAND WHEN THE 60S . NOW ...WOW .. I REALLY LIKE THIS BAND ..
This is really good!
all i ever wanted from these eyes
was a beautiful friction
all i ever felt was
a loving contradiction
as life waits to begin
born by an act of rejection
lost to time, forgotten lives
return to our connectioni've been
pulled apart
washed aside
never indifferent to
going
struggle with a compromise
only to realize
. . . there's a beautiful frictionas the deck swayed side to side
i caught sight of the ship's reflection
lonely mast in a perfect storm
clings on to its directioni've been
pulled apart
washed aside
never indifferent to
going
struggle with a compromise
only to realizeif i could
listen to
let you in
tell you it's alright
starring at a changing sky only to empathize
. . . with a beautiful friction
[friction . . . friction . . . friction . . . friction . . . friction . . . friction . . . friction . . . friction
beautiful . . . beautiful . . . beautiful . . . beautiful . . . (whisper) . . . you] O beautiful friction
all i ever wanted from those eyes
O beautiful friction.
all i ever felt was . . . felt was . . .
O beautiful friction
as the mast came into view
O . . .
Love the FIXX
