Jaw mount works great at campsites with a metal freeze proof water faucet coming out of the ground, or a metal pedestal grill.

Is there a 3/8x24 accessory to stop the autofocus from refocusing every few seconds?

I wish! I know it's annoying. Not sure what it was trying to focus on.

Here in Europe this connector is unknown. What is the difference between it and regular PL connectors?

It is a common antenna mount used in the trucking industry which often use this mount for CB whip antennas. It has been accepted by the ham radio manufacturers in some parts of the world like here in North America. PL is still the most commonly used for amateur radio, followed by the NMO mount (common on commercial and emergency service vehicle antennas), and then the 3/8'x24 thread mounts.

The spike needs to be wooden to kill a vampire.

I'll suggest a change of materials to Chameleon. ;-)

3/8" diameter, 24 threads per inch. This is known as a "fine" thread

@@HamRadioOutlet Fine but what is the advantage to use it instead a PL?

@@mfjenterprisesinc.-canalei1250 Some antennas come with a 38x24 connector. Why? It's an old standard that may go back many decades. It's mostly used for CB-style antennas, like Ham Sticks, but it has other uses too.
