      Mr Element. The SnS I got from Walmart was $349. On the Weber or Amazon $349 will get you a Weber Performer wit a drop down side table and a four wheel cart. A bigger and more solid ash catcher and a ton of after market add ons. The 22" Only Fire rotisserie I have on the Weber doesn't fit the SnS. Too small. I rotisserie a lot. SnS wants $199 for theirs, my Only Fire stainless on Amazon $105. If you maintain the Weber, keep it clean With a truly deep clean every year or so, and keep it covered it'll last you 20-30 years.

    People need to understand these are the best comparisons when the person is not paid or given the product to review. The only way to top this comparison is to cook on them equally six months and see how they both hold up. I’m partial to Weber as well. If you like a side table the Weber Performer with the huge side table is my favorite practical kettle.

    I’ve got one. I get your complaints about the nuts. But all the materials are superior to the Weber. Porcelain enameled charcoal grate, stainless steel everywhere that Weber uses aluminum, 304 Stainless cooking grate is 100x better than the chrome plated grates on the Weber, that grate is designed to be loose by the way, it spins whereas the Webers grate gets caught up on the tabs. And the thermometer may be hard to read, but it’s located in the right spot, so it’s not quite as useless as the Webers

      The sns is a great grill to cook on. I really love that lower vent. It was just the poir paint job. And cheaper material. But it dies cook great.

    @hedontevenhavehislicenseli2058 Před 6 měsíci +4

    I appreciate your review and here are my comments. FYI, Ive had the SNS Kettle for about 3 years. I also have a Weber grill.
    The "made in China" trope indicating sub quality products is tired. The phone and equipment you are using to record the video were probably made in China.
    Rivets vs nuts, bolts & washers; I'd rather have the later.
    Running paint. I would send the grill back to SNS. The finish on mine was perfect.
    Port holes. This is one of the reason that I chose the SnS over the comparable Weber. They work great and are very useful.
    Gap between the bottom of the kettle and ash sweeps, I could see that as an issue. But cook in it first and see if this causes any issues.
    Assembly time. Yeah it was a pain to assemble, but I only had to do it once. Took me about an hour.
    SNS should stay out of the grill making business. Yeah, that's bs IMO. The SNS kettle is a great grill . It works well, and is of great quality. It is also configured to work optimally with the Slow n sear.

    I liked your comparison and would be pissed if I had paint like that as well. I have the older grey version of the SnS and it didn't have those imperfections. By the way, the only thing that I have to keep tightening up on a regular basis is the thermometer, everything else is still nice and tight. I wonder if when they went to the new version in black, if they cut back on quality. After 3 years, it still looks like new and I don't cover it through the Chicago winters. Like I said, nice review.

  • @johnmanthey2683
    @johnmanthey2683 Před měsícem +1

    Personally you got a buy on the SnS. Mine was $349. $349 gets you a Weber Performer with drop down side table and four wheels. The ash bucket on the SnS is smaller and the fixed tabs are thin and cheap. I bent one trying to get the ash pan off and on. I do like the spin grate and the smoke hole. I do like the lid thermo placement but as you pointed out it's hard to read. Even with the smoke hole I was only able to dial the temp down to 275. On my Weber I was able to dial in to 225-250. I will state that SnS makes a great grill basket set. Heavy stainless steel and much bigger than the Weber. Those and the SnS spin grate are well worth the money and fit nicely in the Weber. $ for $ Igo with the performer. More heavy duty. Longer lasting. I have an 18" WSM over 20 years old and still in excellent condition.

  • @caseypence7201
    @caseypence7201 Před 14 dny +1

    I am a Weber man, but the thermostat placement is all wrong. If you are correctly using two cooking zones the thermostat basically becomes worthless. SNS has a much better setup with theirs, and I wish someone on the product team at Weber would make the adjustment.

    • @ScottysBackYardBBQ
      @ScottysBackYardBBQ  Před 14 dny

      @caseypence7201 webers are not an offset. The smoke doesn't go up and out. The smoke goes all around the dome shape lid before it exits out the vent. Why web never did it.

    You are such a jerk! LOL, just messin. You do mention all the flaws, but you missed one. The lid on the SnS kettle is not as tall and you cannot do a beer can chicken in the sns like the weber. I never released my video on my side by side SnS with my Copper weber but I should redo it. I hate the original weber height, the SnS is taller but they both have the new born giraff wobble. My stickers are still on my SnS legs and its been over 2 years. I love SnS, and I love Weber. They both turn out great BBQ. Flaws they both have. Daisy wheel and lid with handle Weber wins, I prefer the gauge location on SnS but gauge on Weber looks and fits better. Color options Weber wins, 3 legs vs 4 neither win both wobble. Side table SnS for sure, but the Weber in a cart looks amazing and what I want to acquire soon. Ash sweep I actually give to SnS due to the amount I have used both, I have 2 Webers and ash sweeps bent up in less than 2 years and my SnS is still just like new. 100% truth, get a Weber 22in with a SnS basket and you will be happy, toss in the drip n griddle for easy clean up and that is my HONEST opinion. Nice review Scotty!
