I have watched this video several times, and am amazed by the professionalism and poise of Miss. Kotz. Her playing is very well moderated, technically very accurate, and is appropriately emotional. But unless that violin was purposely abused for 5 years, it is much older than 2011. Very well done Miss. Kotz, thank you.

The Wieniawski solo piece is spectacular. Great playing. In my relatively unsophisticated view, these are outstanding performances.

Of course,but the competition is for the violinists here,so I was comparing with other violin competititors,not pianists.

so little comments, but no one knew her as the most talented, bar far, in this circus of a demonstration(competition)
Celina I hope your left shoulder is feeling better.
She is very secure technically, but could benefit from loosening her vibrato, which could bring her musicality and technique to the next level. She leads the phrase nicely but sometimes in a school-like manner.
2011 violin... wow !!!
Her playing, and choice of program speaks for itself. Her violin is equal tonally to anything i heard in this competition. Why she didnt win smacks of politics somewhere.

That Penderecki piece was meaningless and tasteless. There were no other pieces left to play? Talent and time wasted on such a... noise.
You would prefer "twinkle, twinkle little star" I guess? :D
That depends on whether you hate contemporary music or are able to absorb it. I am not a big fan of that particular piece of Penderecki (he can do much better, that's true) but still... It is not that bad, really. Putting in other words, please find me another solo violin contemporary piece which is above that and I will shut myself up.
