Just a tip... if you will put pea gravel in the the water tray. They will get plenty of water between the gravel rocks. No drowning or getting wet! God bless you all.
Thanks
Marbles or those glass aquarium beads work pretty well and are easier to clean.

Thank you
Great tip, thanks
Your my teacher. I recieved my eggs (18) from a local breeder. Put them in the incubator and on the 13th day they started pipping, so I stopped the turning and raised the humidity. 13 eggs hatched and only two chicks didn't survive. Pretty good numbers!
You have been so informative and I owe you a debt of gratitude❤
How come? They started pipping before hatching?
Thet's pretty much the case while hatching poultry, they pipp before they'll crack the shell.
@@marielasessa2921That's how that works. They don't do it after they hatch.
This was a primer introductory video that covered every question I had about getting started raising Coturnix Quails.
Thank you. I've seen some of your other videos before, and they were all well done and informative, but this one was why I am now subscribed to your channel.
Dear Sir wondered where you got the quail egg turn er for the nurture right 360 thank you

well i am glad i found this channel. it looks like it will answer many of the questions i have about possibly raising breeding and selling quail and quail eggs from our homestead
Thank you for this informative presentation. I needed to understand the basics of raising quail to determine if I could make it work for me and my particular circumstances. I don't think I have what it takes to do it, so I appreciate you sparing me the failed effort. I will continue to enjoy watching others such as you who do this so well.
Very helpful
Thanks so much.
Good overview. Thanks
Hell of a video !
Thank you, from a beginning 👍
Just wanted to say that I use your cage system outside. I also do the roll out trays but I put a lid with a clasp and carabiner clip through it. We have raccoons and stray cats and they can’t get to any of them!

Great, glad to hear it!
This video is so helpful! The heat has murdered the laying rate for my chickens, so we want to get a larger supply of eggs during the cooler months, and this video has been very helpful to help us make decisions for this winter/springa

Just found your Channel, I subscribed! I plan to order eggs from MyShireFarm, I’m subscribed to him as well. As well as ordering eggs from EBay. I saved up enough money to get EVERYTHING. (I’m 14 and do 4-H) and I am planning to order come Spring.
Welcome to the channel, and good luck with your hatching eggs.
You should also check out gold Shaw farm- do you follow White House on the hill? They Are both really great farming channels!! And if you're really interested in birds there's this channel called 'a chick called Albert' and I really think you'd like it--
I'm 16 and I started raising birds when I was about your age, 14ish
Hope you got your set up going!
Great info, thanks!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for your videos, I have successfully hatched 8 of them so far out of a dozen, they are currently in the brooder looking adorable. Incredibly informative videos.
Next hatch you do set temp at 100f don't add any humidity until day 15. You'll have great hatch rates
You are the best, thanks!!
Good info Terry thanks
LOL Tracy is my wife that's why it says Tracy instead of Keith
Thanks, very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
GREAT VIDEO..U ARE GETTING ME PREPARED..RETIRED LARRY IN INDIANAPOLIS..
Best of luck!
Extremely helpful! We just started our journey with coturnix quails.
Glad you liked it.
Can't say this often enough. My very first hatched baby drowned. It's been 20 years ago and I'm still pissed at myself.
Sorry, don't know how I put this at the wrong comment. It was "putting pea gravel in the water" comment.
Thank you sir!!!
Great video for us newbie's..
My very first Jumbo Coturnix Quail eggs are in the incubator now..
Thanks so much Terry!
Good luck on your hatch.
@@CoturnixCorner hi Terry I live in northern Ireland and was looking some point on cages and keeping quail for eggs sales and pointers would be appreciated
The man!!!!
Amazing Thank you
Thank you,
Perfect timing for a beginners video. My first batch of 30 Jumbo Wilds from Myshire Farm just went into the incubator. I'm still in the process of building your stacked cage design with egg roll outs.
Glad it could be helpful.
My j-feeder is basically a food waster.
The plastic one works better.
Just subscribed
Thank you for the info
Very good vid!
Nice, thanks
Great video and value information. What about heating lamp vs plastic containers?
Awesome!
Thanks
THNX for the helpful starting tips! Do you have a heating lamp in the brooder? Or what temperature should the day old quails be held? Thank you!!!
Very good
I'm not rasing quail yet gotta get everything together and I plan on raising Bob white but you have so much great information on quail in general its great thank you very much will continue to watch your videos again thank u very much
Bob whites don't lay as often and will consume more food. You will also need roosting poles for them to keep them happy
Here in Georgia you also have to get a license from the state to raise Bob Whites in captivity so check your state laws.
I know I'm going to watch this several more times! And I already took notes. Thank you.
Also, what organic feed do you recommend?
Last 10 years I’ve learned to hatch my chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys finally this year I have added quail to my homestead seen all kinds of videos on hatching etc and wanted to say for someone that has never done it your video would be very helpful - very well put together - thanks for sharing
I built my quail condo 2ftx8ft stacked three layers. Each layer is divided into two 2ftx4ft pens. The top two pens are my breeder/layers and the bottom two layers - two pens each are growout pens. I produce mainly for meat. My set up is a little beefier because it's out in a covered run that is very secure but I do protect against snake and rats/mice. I fashioned a hinged lid over the protruding 5inch portion of the rollout egg trays for the top two breeder/layer pens that I can secure with a latch. Nothing can penetrate my quail condos. I cover the back with plywood like you do but also have temporary plywood covers I put on the sides when temps fall below freezing so that only the front of the cage is exposed. I also have built 1ftWx2ftD shelter in the breeder/layer pens running front to back with a plywood door on the front. The quail have a side arch door from the pen. The floor is solid plywood and in the winter I lay in pine flake bedding. In spring/summer/fall I place a sand bath container in there. The birds like the privacy - they even lay their eggs in the sand. This serves as an additional shelter for the quail to snuggle/warm from the winter temps. Similar to you I breed/raise Jumbo Pharaoh and Jumbo White Recessive quail.
Going to watch this entire playlist thanks for great information and all the help can’t wait to get started with quail
Me too. I just subscribed to the channel.
thanks for all the videos, any way to make your own feed for quails ? or find organic type feed ?
Thank you for your videos, Terry! I built a cage according to your video with the watering and feeding systems. Couldn’t have done it without you! Do my quail need a sand box? I’ve seen others suggest them, so I don’t know if they are necessary in certain circumstances.
Hi, thanks for the video as it has given me an insight into the things that I need to be aware of. Would the grown up quails be fine out in the garden aviary with a pen inside it to shelter at night. Please advise
I build a cage for outside with the roll out, but still kept the spot where the eggs roll to still inside the cage. Eliminating the gap that could a potential predator door.
Some people grind up there used quai shells to in crease to increase the calcium in there quail feed
Hey Terry, love your videos. I just finished my quail cages for outside. I combined your design with Chris's design from Slightly Rednecked, I think I am going to like the outcome. Just moved my first hatch out into the new cages, we'll how it turns out. Thanks for the great info.
Good luck and thanks for the comment!
Would love to see how your cages turned out.
What size are your drip pans you use for collecting their droppings. Are the droppings considered hot and in need of being added to composting material or can it be put directly in the garden?
Great 👍
Thanks for this video, Terry. Did you ever put, "must make a single tier incubator for room" on your must-do list ?....please
It's on the list, just need the time to get it done ... soon, I promise.
